Best Weapons and Gear

Weapons

  • Best-in-Slot: Thermite Cutter
  • Alt: Fortmaker (F2P)
  • Alt: Finchaser 3.0 (Not recommended)

Thermite Cutter is undeniably one of the best sword in the game, assuming you can generate SP. Luckily, Alesh is a Vanguard that can generate SP on every skill. That's because the weapon provides ATK%, a buff that is not widely available when compared to DMG% buffs. That's not to mention that every damage can make use of ATK%, as opposed to Finchaser 3.0 that only increases the Cryo DMG%.

If you don't have Thermite Cutter, Fortmaker is recommended, since it increases the Ultimate Gain for Alesh, but the lack of buffs on this weapon makes it useless for your team damage.

Finchaser 3.0 is really strong. Cryo DMG Taken% is not the same as Cryo DMG%, and there are almost no sources of Cryo DMG Taken% in the game. Sadly, this weapon comes with the downside that Alesh must be the one triggering solidification on enemies with his Battle Skill, which is something that doesn't fit in both Yvonne and Last Rite teams. Because of this, even for Cryo Teams, you should stick to Thermite Cutter over his signature weapon.

Gear

General Use

  • Gear Set: Frontiers
  • Armor: Frontiers Armor
  • Gloves: Eternal Xiranite Gloves
  • Kit 1: Frontiers Extra O2 Tube
  • Kit 2: Frontiers Extra O2 Tube

Frontiers is the Vanguard Set, so it’s an obvious pick for Alesh. Frontiers Extra O2 Tube is used over Frontiers Comm T1 since Attribute% buffs multiplies your Attribute, providing a lot of Intellect for Alesh and increasing the odds of pulling a rare fin thanks to his Combat Talent (Veteran Angler)

Ultimate Gain Efficiency

  • Gear Set: None
  • Armor: Tide Fall Light Armor
  • Gloves: Eternal Xiranite Gloves
  • Kit 1: Frontiers Extra O2 Tube
  • Kit 2: Redeemer Seal

Either for SP Generation or Cryo Infliction, in most cases it's much better to have a more consistent rotation over the DMG% gain from Frontiers. Because of this, you should replace some of the gears for more Ultimate Gain Efficiency. If you're using Fortmaker you can replace Redeemer Seal with another Frontiers Extra O2 Tube, however it's much better to use Thermite Cutter for the ATK% buff.

Skill Priority

  • Combo Skill > Ultimate = Battle Skill =/ Basic Attack

Combo Skill is your priority for increased SP generation, everything else is good for Alesh’s Damage.

Potential

  • P1 Super Salty Comeback
  • P2 Calm and Tranquil
  • P3 May the Willing Bite
  • P4 Insane Angling Set
  • P5 Mega Lunker Rumors

Alesh’s Potential focuses on increasing the Team Utility he provides, including extra SP recovery and an ATK buff. Potential 5 increases the damage of his Ultimate against enemies < 50% HP, which is really good, especially with enough Ultimate Gain Efficiency to consistently use his Ultimate.

Key Potentials

  • Potential 3 for a team-wide ATK% Buff after catching a rare fin on his Combo Skill.
  • Potential 4 reduces the required Ultimate Gain Efficiency for consistent rotations.

Keep in mind that vertically investing in Arknights Endfield is not recommended and you should treat these as a bonus damage/utility for your Operator.

How to Play

Alesh is better played with an Operator that can consistently apply Cryo to enemies, as his Battle Skill allows him to consume Cryo Inflictions to regenerate SP based on the number of Inflictions consumed and also apply Solidification to them. You also need someone to consume Arts Reactions or Endmin’s Originium Crystals. Any Physical Unit can consume Endmin’s Crystals, but they can’t apply Cryo Inflictions. Lucky for you, Estella is a 4-Star that checks both conditions.

Start with Estella’s Battle Skill to apply Cryo Infliction, use Alesh’s Battle Skill to force Solidification and trigger Estella’s Combo Skill, which consumes Solidification and triggers Alesh’s Combo Skill. It’s a perfect cycle that generates SP and applies Physical Weakness to enemies. Sure, you don’t need to play with Estella, but they both help each other and you can just fill the last two slots with whatever you want to play.

Use his Ultimate when available as it deals good Cryo DMG, applies Cryo Infliction and also recovers some SP for your team.

Release Date

Alesh will release on January 22nd, 2026 along with the release of Arknights: Endfield.
