Zenless Zone Zero Anby Demara Overview

Welcome to our Zenless Zone Zero character guide, where we cover everything you need to know about Anby.

Anby Demara is an A Rank Agent from the Cunning Hares Faction with the Electric Attribute and Stun Fighting Style. She is also one of the free characters you obtain early on in the game. You can obtain more copies of Anby through the Gacha System.

The Stun Fighting Style specializes in inflicting Daze, which stuns enemies, increasing the damage of the entire team. She will pair well with other Cunning Hares or Electric Agents.

  • ATK%

As previously mentioned, Anby is a Stun Agent, meaning you want to focus on things that amplify her Impact stat. After that, you can focus on things like Crit for slightly more damage, or you can opt to focus on Anomaly Mastery to Shock enemies.

While Crit stats will increase her personal damage, it’s not a high priority since her main role is to inflict Daze and Stun.

Anby W-Engines

Demara Battery Mark II

ATK: 42/624 | Impact: 6%/15%
Increases Electric DMG by 15/17.5/20/22/22%. When the equipper hits an enemy with Dodge Counter or Assist Attack, their Energy Generation Rate increases by 18/20.5/23/25/27.5% for 8s.

The Restrained

ATK: 46/684 | Impact: 7.2%/18%
Increases Ice DMG by 20/25/30/35/40%. Basic Attack DMG and Daze increases by 12/15/18/21/24%.

When it comes to W-Engines in ZZZ, every Agent has a signature weapon. You can definitely tell as one W-Engine will match the aesthetic and kit of every character.

For Anby, her signature W-Engine is Demara Battery Mark II. This increases her Impact stat, provides Electric DMG and Energy Regen.

Our other recommendations are S Rank Stun W-Engines. While she can’t make use of the bonus Ice/Fire DMG, the high base stats make them good and part of their passive still applies.

This is mainly a consideration if you happen to pull an S Rank W-Engine from the weapon banner. There are other A Rank W-Engines that can work as well. Make sure to make use of whatever you have on your account.

Anby Drive Discs

Disk Drive Shockstar Disco S

Shockstar Disco

(2): Increases Impact by 6%.
(4): Basic Attacks, Dash Attacks, Dodge Counter, Special Attacks, and EX Special Attacks inflict 15% more Daze upon the main target.
Disk Drive Swing Jazz S

Swing Jazz

(2): Energy Regen increases by 20%.
(4): Launching a Chain Attack or Ultimate increases all squad members’ DMG by 15% for 12s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Disk Drive Thunder Metal S

Thunder Metal

(2): Increases Electric DMG by 10%.
(4): As long as an enemy in combat is Shocked, the equippers ATK is increased by 27%.

For Drive Discs, there are three main sets that are beneficial. Shockstar Disco is the Impact based Set, and the most applicable for Anby. Shockstar Disco is another good set, increasing Energy Regen as the (2) piece bonus.

The (4) piece Swing Jazz bonus is also quite good, but depends on your team. If you have another Agent that is using Swing Jazz (4), Shockstar Disco (4) will be better to have since the bonus won’t stack.

Lastly, we have Thunder Metal which increases Anby’s personal damage. Since she is a Stun character, increasing her personal damage doesn’t provide as much as the other two sets.

Overall, try to get a good (4) piece set of either Shockstar Disco or Swing Jazz. After that, you can use any (2) piece bonus you have available, ideally Swing Jazz/Shockstar Disco.

Anby Drive Disc Stats

Main Stats

  • (4) Crit Rate%/Crit DMG%
  • (5) PEN Ratio%/Electric DMG%
  • (6) Impact%/Energy Regen%

When it comes to Main Stats, the most important piece is Partition VI, which provides either Impact or Energy Regen Main Stat. Both of these are extremely good for Anby.

Partition IV and V have more personal damage stats, which are a smaller priority. If you don’t want to invest too much resources into Anby’s personal damage, you can also forgo Crit and simply get ATK% stats on Partition IV.

Crit is a stat that shines more with higher investment, so it’s more of a late game recommendation.

Substats

  • Impact
  • Crit Rate%/Crit DMG%
  • PEN
  • ATK%

When it comes to Substats, things are mostly the same. Impact is the most important stat for Anby, as this synergizes with her role as a Stun Agent.

After that, you can look for Substats that provide personal damage like Crit, ATK%, and PEN. Lastly, if you plan to run Anby in an Anomaly team, you should look to use Anomaly Master and Anomaly Proficiency to increase her personal damage instead of Crit stats.

Anby Skill Priority

Once the game releases, we’ll update this section. In general, leveling up an Agent’s Core Passive is the most effective, as this levels up their Core Passive, Additional Ability, and Assist Moves.

Anby Teams

As with all characters, Anby pairs best with other Agents that are either the same Attribute or Faction. This activates her Additional Ability, which provides strong passive buffs.

Since Anby is a Stun character, you could technically run her on any “Hyper Carry” team as your Stun character. However, pairing her with Electric/Cunning Hares Agents would be ideal.

Cunning Hares Hyper Carry Free Team

Billy Anby Nicole Team

Billy, Anby, Nicole

This first team is the free Cunning Hares team you get upon starting the game. It’s a nice start because it has the complete team breakdown you would need. Billy is an Attack Agent, Anby is Stun, and Nicole is Support.

This gives you a balanced team to start out with, and gives you an idea of how to team build. For the purposes of our guides, we will call this type of team “Hyper Carry.” This is because you focus on the damage of the Attack character, with the Stun and Support character buffing them up with their kits.

Cunning Hares Hyper Carry Nekomata

Nekomata Anby Nicole Team

Nekomata, Anby, Nicole

For a simple upgrade, you can look to replace Billy with Nekomata. Nekomata is an S Rank Physical Attack Agent, which can be seen as a direct upgrade for Billy in this type of team.

Billy is nice because he’s ranged, so Nekomata might not be for you. This is simply to demonstrate how you can replace pieces of the team.

Mono Electric Hyper Carry

Anton Anby Rina Team

Anton, Anby, Rina

Up next, we have another “Hyper Carry” team, except with Electric Agents instead of Cunning Hares. Anton is your Attack Agent, and Rina is your Support. Rina is a Support that also has strong personal damage, so the term “Hyper Carry” might not be perfect.

For this type of team, you can look to use the Thunder Metal set, which becomes stronger when the enemy is Shocked. Since this team is fully Electric, enemies will be Shocked constantly.

Shock Anomaly Team

Grace Anby Rina Team

Grace, Anby, Rina

Lastly, we have an Anomaly team using Grace, the only Anomaly Agent in the game. Like the above team, this team is fully Electric, which is ideal for applying lots of Attribute Anomaly.

The main difference is that this team looks to deal damage through Attribute Anomaly rather than Crit. Because of this, you want to focus on stats like Anomaly Mastery and Anomaly Proficiency.

For Anby, Impact is still your priority Stat, but Anomaly stats would come next if you want to increase her personal damage in this type of team.

It’s quite clear that Grace and Rina pair for a very strong combo, but it’s unclear whether Anby is an ideal 3rd teammate. Her Stun/Daze provides another layer of buffs for the team, but it’s possible an Attack character like Anton would be better.

Closing Words

Anby Demara Thumbnail

This wraps up our guide for Anby in Zenless Zone Zero. She is one of the free characters you get upon starting the game, and she will be a flexible character for many teams in the ZZZ meta.

You can look to run her in a variety of teams, and there aren’t too many Stun characters available upon release. This makes her a solid Agent to invest into early on.

As the game continues to release new characters, Anby will likely be powercrept by other Stun characters, but that might not be for a long time, so don’t worry too much about that.
