The BazaarThe Bazaar Karnok Guide and Overview

In this Karnok guide for The Bazaar, we'll explain how Karnok works, from his playstyle to his example Builds.

Overview

Lore

From The Bazaar site:

"This fierce woodsman is a mystery even to himself. Where did he come from? What is the monstrous Creature that lurks within him? How can he get rid of it...and does he really want to?"

Playstyle

Karnok is the first entirely new Hero to be released in The Bazaar, as all previous DLC Heroes have been known since before launch.

He's a dedicated monster hunter who happens to also harness a beast within him.

With the Karnok's Rage mechanic, players get to navigate between forms and take advantage of its many Enrage triggers.

Will you try to Enrage on and off as quick as possible? Or perhaps you'd rather lean into the beast itself!

Note: In this guide we'll be covering a few of Karnok's signature aspects but with over 100 items per character there are many more ways to build him.

How to Unlock Karnok

Karnok is one of The Bazaar's DLC Heroes and can be purchased for $20 USD.

Friends

Friends fit right at home alongside Karnok, each providing great benefits and supportive synergies. Many of these are available from Day One, offering plenty of variety right out of the gates.

Example Items

Wolf

Wolf offers both Haste and Damage scaling, which is an excellent foundation during the early game. Karnok also has several other Weapon Friends, including the likes of Hunting Hawk and Honey Badger (both available at Bronze), which naturally have synergy with Wolf.

Spear

Spear is a powerful utility Weapon that applies Haste across the entire board (except itself). It fits naturally with Friends, which easily guarantee its 100% Crit Chance. Plus, it's easy to keep it running quickly with support from Flying Squirrel.

Karst

Karst often defines Enrage builds thanks to its incredible Rage generation combined with excellent Shielding. It slots onto just about any Friends board, opening up deeper scaling and late game potential. There's plenty of crazy shenanigans to behold!

Ammo

Karnok is no stranger to Ammo items, especially as a strong early game Hero that rivals Vanessa. He has access to a lot of front-loaded Damage, but also has ways to manipulate Ammo in new interesting ways.

Example Items

Shotgun

Shotgun is the prime example of a powerful Ammo Weapon. Alongside consistent Reload support, it scales into a rapid-firing machine. Scaling Multicast is absurd, so all it takes is some extra Damage to make it feel truly unstoppable.

Tent

Tent is one of the strongest Reload items in the game, particularly because of Karnok's Self-Slow archetype. By utilizing items like Chains, it's easy to solve Ammo while benefiting in numerous ways. It's the bread-and-butter combo with Shotgun, but also works with several others.

Meat

Meat isn't your usual Ammo item, as the whole point is to intentionally run out of Ammo. Its Healing effect alone is rather mediocre, but being able to grant Multicast gives it some special utility. Snow Wisp is a popular early choice, but it also works with any starting Restorative items (from level 2 reward).

Traps

Traps are a new item type that released alongside Karnok, providing more ways to punish the opponent. While they aren't generally played together (since most have limited usage), they can occasionally be built-around to a great effect.

Example Items

Bear Trap

Bear Trap is a simple Small Ammo item that deals Damage and Slows whenever the enemy acts. With Reload support this can trigger repeatedly (another great choice alongside Tent + Chains), but even at its worst it's a fine disruptive flex slot-in.

Log Trap

Log Trap deals a ton of front-loaded Damage while debilitating the enemy board with a wide Slow. Within fast Enrage builds it'll strike once again, which can potentially set foes back long enough to outpace and destroy them.

Trapping Pit

Trapping Pit can be a brutal counter against specific builds, possibly Destroying a key component on board. Since Karnok often has flex slots available, chances are this will do a lot more to the opponent than it does to you (opportunity cost of a Medium board slot).
