The BazaarThe Bazaar Jules Guide and Overview

In this Jules guide for The Bazaar, we'll explain how Jules works, from her playstyle to her example Builds.

Overview

Lore

From The Bazaar site:

"From the cruel streets of a dying world to galactic fame as a celebrity chef, Jules is one tough macaron. She’ll use her culinary finesse to slice and dice her way to the top of The Bazaar… and still get her daughter to school on time!"

Playstyle

Jules is the final Hero to be released among the six revealed from the beginning of The Bazaar.

Like all the others, she's packed with flavor, offering a wide variety of strategies to explore.

Alongside her debut came the introduction of the "sockets" mechanic, showcasing a new way to modify boards to a greater extent.

There's Stoves which benefit items with the Heated keyword, and Coolers which do the same with Chilled abilities.

Whether you like to heat things up or freeze enemies in their tracks, there's lots of spicy combinations to create!

Note: In this guide we'll be covering a few of Jules' signature aspects but with over 100 items per character there are many more ways to build her.

How to Unlock Jules

Jules is one of The Bazaar's DLC Heroes and can be purchased for $20 USD.

Burn

To absolutely nobody's surprise, Burn is a huge component of many successful Jules builds. In fact, you can pretty much cook up whatever you like and still find success, as long as you piece the ingredients together respectfully.

There's a ton of variety, so be sure to experiment to suit your own tastes!

Example Items

Hot Sauce

Hot Sauce is a very simple but effective early game Burn item. Having 3x Multicast with an incredibly easy requirement makes it Jules' very own Soldering Gun. However, given the number of Food synergies that exist, it's often far better.

When paired with Bronze Burn skills like Final Flame and/or Immolating Spark, it can even carry your build in the beginning. Although thanks to its Multicast, it still has use later on once better items are found.

Microwave

Microwave is the backbone of many Food setups thanks to its low Cooldown, board-wide Haste. It being accessible at Bronze makes it an incredibly reliable choice for Jules, and provides a big edge during the earlier stages of the game (and is still great later). If you can spare the Heated slot, it's well worth it.

Grill

Grill is one of the many late game Burn payoffs, providing tremendous scaling potential for a Food Burn build. If you're able to stack up some extra base Burn it'll output absurd amounts, and ultimately shortens the need for it to scale itself.

Freeze

Freeze is the other less common half, but a potent one nonetheless. While there are far fewer Freeze items in the game, those that exist are incredible powerful.

Its true power usually unlocks once you acquire your second Cooler socket. Assuming you can pilot it accordingly, you'll be greatly rewarded!

Example Items

Sorbet

Sorbet is one of the first accessible Freeze items in the game, as for the most part, this strategy doesn't take off until later on. While the Freeze core itself relies on specific Silver/Gold-tier items, it doesn't mean you can't take advantage of the disruption sooner.

Strawberries is another similar example, albeit generally weaker due to its need to be Chilled (unlike Sorbet). Overall, they're still nice common options to have, especially if you happen to get Snowstorm.

Blender

Blender provides incredible Haste support for the Freeze archetype, and also creates Slushees on demand. This can be incredibly strong when paired with one-time use items like Icicle, allowing you to replace them after the effect is triggered.

Even without specific synergies it can still be useful, as it's an easy way to fill up the remaining slots on your board. If you've pivoted into a Freeze build, that's up to two less items you have to find. Throw in some Small filler items, and Blender will make them useful!

Freezer

Walk-In Freezer weaponizes your Freeze triggers into raw Damage, all while providing additional Freeze of its own. Alongside fast and/or Multicast items, this gets quickly out of hand. The only real downside is that socket RNG can inhibit its potential, forcing you to utilize suboptimal positioning.

Regardless, it's a ridiculous item, and a clear standout among Freeze items in ALL of The Bazaar.

Shield Conversion

The Shield Conversion archetype is a long time classic, but Jules takes it to a whole new level.

Unlike many of those from the past that struggle with consistency (especially early on), Jules can kickstart it all the moment she hits Level 3!

Example Items

Durian

Durian is incredibly powerful option compared to the others before it. It's significantly faster than Spiky Shield, and is just shy of Force Field while remaining a Medium item. Plus given the amount of accessible Haste options Jules has, it's easy for it to strike multiple times (instead of being a one-shot build).

Once you unlock your Cooler socket you're pretty much good to go. Either invest into a big Shield item, or rack up that Shield scaling across the board.

Apron

Apron goes hand in hand with Durian, acting as an out-of-combat scaleable Shield item. Given how many Food items there are, it doesn't take much buying/selling before it reaches a respectable value. This is a big part of what makes Durian playable early on.

While this generally won't last beyond the mid game, it's a great choice until better options are found.

Cheese Wheel

Cheese Wheel definitely has the greatest heights among Shield items, functioning as the Shield equivalent of an Atlas Stone. Although it's definitely slow, a bit of investment can turn it into an absolute monster. Even at the start, all you really need is Haste and some flat Shield skills.

As you progress into the late game, items like Meat Tenderizer can greatly accelerate it. In fact, if you manage to enchant it with Obsidian/Fiery/Toxic, it can become the sole carry even without need for Durian at all. Gotta love the big cheese.
