Overview

Burn builds come naturally to Jules, and there's a huge range of options to play. Whether you're looking for Haste, Slow, Shield, or just raw Burn, she's got it all.

Assembling a Burn Jules build is extremely consistent, as there are plenty of strong replacements that can be used interchangeably. With several efficient items available right from Bronze, you've got a smooth path from the start to finish.

Note: On this board, Zarlic should've been swapped with Sleeping Potion in order to help Charge Honeycomb.

Example Early Game Path

Note: Jules builds have extremely contextual positioning due to the RNG placement of the Stoves and Coolers. Your mileage may vary.

Core Synergies

  • Microwave is the go-to Haste support for Food builds. Its low Cooldown, board-wide effect more than justifies occupying your first Stove.
  • Rice is a good early game carry due to its simultaneous Burn/Regen scaling.
    • Scorchpepper is required in order to use it alongside Microwave.
    • Coffee can be used if Rice gets the Stove. However, don't prioritize this over using Microwave.
  • Hot Sauce is alternative Burn plan if you have a way to scale it (typically via Cinders and/or Burn skills).
  • Black Pepper and Butter are easy inclusions for their Charge/Haste/Multicast. With upgrades, these become very useable later on.
  • Excellent Vintage provides valuable speed control with its Multicast Slow.
    • The Cooler slot is less competitive in Burn builds, making this an easy slot in.
  • Banu Leaves is incredibly spammy and works very well with early Shield skills and/or scaling.
    • Hang on to this for later, it will come in handy alongside the Large win conditions.

Tips & Tricks

  • Pasta Maker is one of Jules' only Economy items, so it can be worth grabbing early.
  • Candy Mail can be used to scale Banu Leaves, or even better, Cheese Wheel (if found early).
    • Upgrading it from Bronze to Silver will refill its Ammo, so try to use as much as you can without destroying it.
  • Applying Heated/Chilled to your ideal item is generally more important than having optimal positioning.

Example Mid Game Additions

Core Synergies

  • Pickled Peppers is a flexible Burn item with great scaling potential.
    • It doesn't have inherent synergies with Food, so you do have the option of pairing it with a wider range of items.
  • Meat Tenderizer can be worth grabbing, but requires upgrades to really be efficient. At Gold it's solid, at Diamond it's incredible.
  • Universal Sauce is a great pickup if you happen to have Improvised Burn.

Alternative Path

  • Imu + Hot Box can create a powerful Slow Burn build alongside Excellent Vintage.
    • This build requires the second Stove (from Level 9) before it becomes playable.
    • However, depending on socket RNG, there is a chance the build becomes impossible to assemble.

Tips & Tricks

  • Chocolate Coin is an incredible source of income, while also providing a (potentially) huge Crit boost to your desired item.
  • Fortune Cookie is always worth grabbing, provided you have time to fulfill its Quest.
  • Cookbook can be useful if obtained at a higher tier than your items on board.
    • It can also upgrade and refill Candy Mail if acquired early.
  • Farmer's Market can provide another nice Economy boost in addition to some Max Health stacking.
    • As a Gold-tier item it can be hard to find early, but is worth picking up if you get lucky.

Mid Game Filler Items

  • Burrito
  • Curry
  • Jambalaya
  • Pizza
  • Tea Siphon

End Game Build Breakdown

Core Synergies

  • Gingerbread House converts fast Food into Shield and Burn.
    • Cheese Wheel is very strong if you can give it a sizeable amount of base Shield. Candy Mail helps a lot.
    • Saffron or Honeycomb can be used for further Shield scaling.
  • Grill and Feast essentially serve the same purpose as a Large spammy Burn win condition.
    • They function similarly to Gingerbread House, but opt for more offense over defense.
    • Jumbo Wok is a fourth alternative, but is a little more restrictive (although it still works great with Banu Leaves).
  • Pantry takes the Food Burn builds to a whole new level with its absurd Charge effect.
  • Egg Timer is a useful combo enabler for slower win conditions like Cheese Wheel.
  • Serving Platter is a bit niche, but can be an excellent inclusion if you've found a way to solve Crit scaling for your board.

Tips & Tricks

  • Prioritize upgrades that improve the speed of your build. Many Small Food items can scale to a very low Cooldown.
  • If you find another way to solve Haste, you do have the option to drop Microwave. That said, Microwave is absolutely late game viable.
