Overview

Space Gods is the new set mechanic in Set 17. There are 9 gods in total, each offering different loot depending on which one you choose, and eventually granting a powerful God Boon Blessing.

These gods replace the traditional carousel rounds, and in each game you’ll only be offered 2 unique gods to choose from for the entirety of your game. Deciding which Blessing to aim for will depend heavily on your first three selections.

God rounds take place at the same stages as carousels, 2-4, 3-4, and 4-4. Every player gets the same god reward options and whichever god you pick twice becomes your Favoured God, allowing you to receive its Blessing on stage 4-7.

In this guide, we’ll break down all the possible loot each god can offer at every stage, along with what God you should angle towards.

The Realm of Gods - Space God Rewards

With the 2 unique Gods replacing Carousel rounds, each one will offer a different reward to choose from. Each god has multiple options for each stage but only one will be offered to you from each god

What God Should I Choose?

If you’re unsure which God to lean towards, don’t worry, each one offers unique benefits and can positively influence your comp. However, some Gods are better suited to specific playstyles. In this guide, we’ll break down all 9 Gods, share key tips and tricks, and help you understand which one best fits your comp the best.

Ahri

Ahri mainly provides Gold and XP, while also offering rerolls. Because of this, it’s best to prioritize item augments with this God so you don’t fall behind on items compared to other players or if you want to itemize more than 3 units.

Ahri is strongest when played in Fast 8 or Fast 9 comps. You generally want to avoid reroll strategies, as the extra XP loses value in those setups. Ahri’s blessing grants Gold, XP, and rerolls on Stage 4-7, but by that point, most reroll comps have already hit their 3-stars, making it far less impactful.

That said, Ahri can still work in reroll comps, especially if you’re offered multiple rerolls but there are usually better Gods for that playstyle.

Aurelion Sol

Aurelion Sol is by far the most unique God, as he gives you tasks to complete each stage in exchange for rewards.

You ideally want to lean into Aurelion Sol with a strong gold opener or a high resource start, since some tasks require you to hit 50 gold early or field 6 non-unique traits. Being a higher level also helps, making activating traits easier to complete.

With Aurelion Sol being an option you can also look for augments like Bronze 4 Life or even units like Rhaast as you're likely to be offered Emblems.

It’s best to play Aurelion Sol from a strong opener, as you’ll want to preserve as much HP as possible heading into the end of Stage 4. At that point, you’ll choose one of three trials to complete, some of which may take multiple rounds so having a healthy board is key.

Ekko

Ekko’s rewards are all about scaling. If you’re aiming to winstreak through the early and mid game, it’s usually best to avoid Ekko, as most of his rewards take a few rounds to come online.

As early as Stage 2, you can start locking in a comp with Ekko. Some options include a Spatula in 4 rounds or an Artifact in 8 rounds, which can give you strong direction for your comp.

Ekko can work with most playstyles, but he’s best suited to Fast 8 or Fast 9 comps. Ideally, you want to balance preserving HP early while waiting for your rewards to come through, as some won’t arrive until late Stage 3, and with Reroll you ideally want to roll aggressively and save HP during the early and mid game.

Evelynn

Evelynn is all about playing aggressively and aiming to winstreak through the early and mid game with a strong board full of upgrades and combat augments.

Most of Evelynn’s rewards cost HP but offer strong value in return, such as gold, upgraded champions, or even random emblems. Because of this, it’s best to avoid loss streaking where possible, as the HP sacrificed can quickly add up and be the difference between placements. The more players that pick Evelynn the more HP you will lose also so take this in consideration.

That said, loss streaking isn’t completely off the table. The early gold can help you hit 50 gold quickly, and combined with a 5-loss streak, you can become extremely rich early on so you’ll just need to manage playing from a lower HP total.

Evelynn can work in most playstyles, but she’s strongest in reroll comps, where you can play aggressively, stabilize early, and protect your HP.

Kayle

Kayle offers a wide range of components, so you’ll want to lean into this option if you plan on itemizing 4–5 strong carries in your comp.

Her Blessing upgrades a random completed item into a Radiant item, so you can potentially give your main carry double Radiant items if you hit a Prismatic augment, making them even stronger in teamfights. Since the upgrade is random, we recommend saving any Reforgers if you decide to go for the Kayle god. This helps avoid getting stuck with a Radiant item you don’t want or an awkward component from earlier rounds.

Kayle is perfect for Reroll and Fast 8 boards, It can be played with Fast 9 but other gods offer better resources such as gold or even HP.

Soraka

Soraka benefits loss streak players the most, as you’re more likely to be offered HP throughout Stages 2–4.

You can also be offered implant items, which can significantly increase your board strength. Each stage, there’s also a chance Soraka offers a Giant’s Belt, helping you complete strong tank items and maintain tempo when needed.

Soraka’s blessing grants your team 2 HP for each point of missing Tactician Health. This makes Fast 9 comps the strongest option, as you can comfortably loss streak through the early and mid game, then spike later with a powerful legendary board that’s even stronger thanks to the bonus team wide HP across your whole board.

Thresh

For the gamble enjoyers, Thresh is the perfect choice, as every option is random and full of surprises.

Each stage, you gain a random boon from any other God or mystery loot. This can be especially useful if you lack direction or if the alternative God doesn’t suit your current setup.

For Thresh its best to preserve HP as once you reach his blessing, you’ll roll a dice and gain rewards based on the outcome. The longer you survive, the more value you generate, as the dice rolls after every player combat.

Thresh can fit into any playstyle, and with the loot being better than the average, you also need to be extremely flexible which can benefit the higher skilled players.

Varus

Varus works extremely well with reroll comps, as he provides a steady flow of units, Duplicators, and even gold.

If you see Varus as early as Stage 2, you should definitely keep reroll comps in mind. From Stage 2-4 onwards, you can be offered Duplicators or even copies of champions you already own, helping you hit your 3-stars much faster.

That said, Fast 8 or Fast 9 can still be viable. Varus can offer things like a 4-cost shop on Stage 3 and even increased 5-cost odds later on, which can be valuable for a Level 9 rolldown.

Also, keep in mind that Varus blessing grants your team 10 HP for each total star level in your army. This allows a fully upgraded 3-star board to spike hard and compete with even the strongest late-game comps.

Yasuo

Yasuo spawns Hexes that provide a variety of buffs, similar to Set 16’s Silver Augments.

You can tailor your comp based on the Hex you’re given early. For example, Socialite Hex grants Mana Regen, which is ideal for AP boards, while Wind Hex provides Attack Speed, benefiting AD boards.

If you do want to play towards Yasuo keep in mind about building anti heal early as there is a decent chance you'll be offered the Fire Hex which will make your champions ability burn/wound.

Space Gods FAQ

1. Are the gods randomized in every game?

Yes. Each game you’ll be offered 2 unique gods at each God round stage (2-4, 3-4, 4-4). The gods you see are randomly selected from the pool of 9, so your choices can vary each game.

2. Can I choose the same god more than once?

Yes. Whichever god you pick twice becomes your Favoured God, granting it’s blessing on stage 4-7. This makes planning your selections early crucial.

3. Do the loot options from each god repeat?

No. Each god has multiple possible loot options at every stage, but you’ll only be offered one per stage. This means each god round can provide a unique reward depending on RNG.

4. Does everybody get the same god?

Yes. Every player will see the same 2 gods you do, but the loot offered with their Blessing can vary. You’ll always receive the same blessing, but the specific components, gold, or rewards may differ. If you’re unhappy with the options, you can reroll for 1 gold to see new choices.

5. What happens on the Carousel rounds from stage 5 onwards?

On rounds 5-4 and 6-4, the god you decided to worship offers 3 items, gold, and a completed item anvil.

6. Does placement have any affect like they did before?

Yes. Placement does still affect what you receive but it works during the PvE round instead. Players in 8th and 7th place will get the most bonus loot to help them catch up, followed by 6th and 5th place with slightly less, and then 4th and 3rd with smaller bonuses.
