Anima is a trait in Set 17 that requires you to gain Tech to unlock new Anima weapons. With Anima activated, the goal is to lose combat rounds, as after losing a player combat you gain 15 Tech plus additional Tech equal to 5 times the length of your loss streak. You will want to play around a loss streak early while also going for kills to save HP and gain even more Tech, as you gain 2 per Anima takedown.
Each time you reach 100 Tech, you will be shown Anima weapons. You can either take them or save your Tech to get more powerful weapons at the next 100 threshold.
In this guide, we’re going to show you the Anima cash out table, as well as what comps to play and which cash outs to go for.
Make sure to keep this guide open to follow along in-game so you can keep an eye on the loot table and get the perfect cashout!

When Should I Play Anima?
Ideally, you want to play Anima from the start of Stage 2. The earlier you activate it, the more Tech you can generate, and the bigger your cashout will be, giving you a much higher chance of winning the game as you’ll be far ahead of tempo.
Keep an eye on loot orbs in the early game, as during Stage 2 you can get an Illaoi or an Aurora, which can set you up in the right direction, since you will only need to find a 1-cost Briar and a 2-cost Jinx.
Augments can also come into play and make playing around Anima significantly easier. Ones that offer HP, like Tiniest Titan and Tiny Titans, are great as they give you a couple of extra lives to reach another Tech threshold. Comeback Story and Calculated Loss both benefit from losing rounds, so when paired with Anima they make you even stronger when you decide to cash out.
Finally, Anima has its own augment, Anima Commander. This gives you a Briar, Jinx, and an Illaoi, allowing you to start Stage 2-1 with 3 Anima activated, while also granting an additional 10 HP.
Lastly, for Space Gods, Soraka is by far the best, as she can heal you during the early and mid game. You’ll also gain additional HP and stats based on how much HP you’ve lost, further strengthening this type of comp.
Anima can be played with any Space Gods and for more information about the Gods and what they can offer you, check out our Space Gods guide!
Which Anima Cash-Out Should You Aim For?
If you’re not sure which cashout to go for, that’s completely normal, there isn’t one fixed answer with Anima. It can change every game, and most of the time you want to aim as high as possible without risking all your HP. The higher the Tech breakpoint, the stronger the rewards, so it’s all about balancing greed with survival.
Ideally, you want to keep playing around Anima, as the items work really well on Aurora and Illaoi, while also allowing you to itemise Jinx and Fiora effectively. But that's not to say you cant play other comps, you can take the cash out and play into any other comp with the added resources.
If you’re looking to get ahead of tempo, we recommend aiming for at least 300 Tech, as this gives you a Tier 2 weapon. Hitting 400 is even better, especially for reroll comps, since you still get a Tier 2 weapon while also having a chance to hit Champion Duplicators or upgraded Anima units.
Anything above 600 is game changing and can almost guarantee a win if played correctly. Once you pass the 600 threshold, you gain access to Tier 3 weapons, which are extremely strong, especially on 3-star 3-cost units or an upgraded Fiora.
To realistically reach 600, you’ll need to activate Anima from 2-1, consistently get kills while losing rounds, and prioritise the recommended augments we suggested.
It’s also important to remember that you don’t always need to fully commit to one big cashout. If your HP gets too low, it’s better to take a smaller reward and stabilise your board.
Lastly, try to line up your cashout with a PvE round when possible. This gives you more time to sort your items, rebuild your board, and fully take advantage of your spike without the pressure of an immediate fight.
