Break wind each step asCorpsewade creates poison gas clouds via Decompose automatically, consuming nearby corpses. The stronger the enemy corpse, the more potent the fart from it is. Store up passed gas with Plague Bearer for a concentrated stink to create corpses and chain poisons with Bursting Plague and Herald of Plague. Weapon swap when fuel for your flatulence is low to Decompose your own Bind Spectre minions instead. Easily fartwalk (or sprint) through all content

- Set 1 A total of 413 spirit is needed. Use Perfect Essence of Command for aura magnitude on Stoic Sceptre

- Set 2 A total of 444 spirit is needed for 5 Bind Spectre's. Trenchtimbre now has 2xSoul Core of Azcapa. This requires that it be corrupted for an extra socket. Make sure that it still has +2 to level of all minion skills. 3 sockets is possible, but requires corrupting a 2 socket Trenchtimbre

- All other items should follow the stat priority. Don't copy exactly what I have above, it is only example of good stats without resistance

- Corpsewade runeforged for 5% extra movement speed. Use Perfect Jewelers Orb to get 5 sockets for Decompose. Corrupt for 2/3rd socket (buy exceptional Corpsewade with 2 sockets not corrupted to potentially get 3 sockets)

- 2x Unset Ring is required to fit in all the skills

- Mageblood is a very good belt for defence and speed (jade > quicksilver > gold/granite)

- Megalomaniac with 2-3 beneficial nodes. Anything with aura/minion life/curse/poison/ailment magnitude or duration. Lingering Horror to save points for Gigantic Following. If you want even faster minion revive speed, then Restless Dead

- Against the Darkness with spirit (if rich, then damage as extra chaos too). You can also fit in Gigantic Following (need Uhtred's Augury and Dialla's Desire) with set 2 points, instead of ones leading to Regenerative Flesh)

- Prism of Belief with +3 to Plague Bearer is good (or Bind Spectre)

- Once you get Legacy of Greymake (helmet rune), swap attributes passive on tree with Traveller's Wisdom (check passive tree section of guide)

- Sapphire/Emerald's with poison scaling: trade link

- Amulet distilled emotion: Lasting Trauma or anything else you would want on Megalomaniac

Alternatives

- Corpsewade with Guatelitzi's Thesis socketed (replace Amanamu's Gaze in Sacrificial Regalia) for 25% increased movement speed while sprinting. Need life regeneration on gear (if Snakebite aren't equipped), or it will kill you

- Rite of Passage with a movespeed related buff or owl (replaces For Utopia)

- Gloves with Katla's Gloom modifiers (faster ailments, poison magnitude, curse magnitude, etc.)

- Aurseize can be used if more rarity is wanted, same as Guatelitzi's Thesis you need life regeneration on gear

Crafting Steps

- Brigand Mace

1 - Buy any 2 socket one-handed mace (low strength requirement).

2 - Use perfect essence of abrasion on 6 mod one, then

3 - prefix abyss craft Amanamamu for % increased damage against enemies with fully broken armour. Repeat if one removes the other.

4 - To get both crafted mods on the Brigand Mace, temporarily socket a Astrid's Creativity. Use Prismatic Alloy for % increased magnitude of ailments you inflict

- Sapphire Jewels

Cheap - Buy a 3 stat jewel with %increased duration of ailments/ailments deal damage faster/wither magnitude/magnitude of damaging ailtments. Fill prefix if not full with exalt. Add Chaos Damage with Diluted Liquid Greed, 50% chance to remove the good prefix

- Amulet

1 - Fracturing Orb +3 level of all minion skills or 45+ spirit (or buy fractured already). To do so, chaos spam a 1 mod rare amulet until you get it (Orb of Annulment to get 1 mod). (If you get something other than the mod we want, such as +3 to melee skills or +3 to spell skills, it best to sell it and buy a fresh new one). After add 2 more mods with exalts, and a UNREVEALED abyss mod with collarbone, then fracture. 1 in 3 odds to hit

2 - Essence of the Breach for +20% max quality. Use Necrotic Catalyst until 34%+ quality. Orb of Annulment back down to only the fracture

3 - Chaos spam 2 mod fractured rare amulet until you get +3 minion levels or 45+ spirit

4 - Then you can Omen of Dextral Exaltation (suffix) + Exalt (if spirit is fractured then prefix), and remove with Omen of Dextral Crystallisation (suffix) (if spirit is fractured then prefix) + Perfect Essence of Enhancement

5 - Collarbone + echoes reveal

5 - 2x exalt omen + Perfect exalt

Uber Extra - When adding quality, add up to 40% instead of 34%. Then increase that even more with Vaal Catalysing Infuser to 50%. +3 minion CANNOT BE FRACTURED, so fracture spirit instead. Add annoint then Omen of Sanctification + Divine Orb after step 5 and pray for +6 level to all minion skills (can use hinekora's lock to guarantee)

Tips

- Bind Spectre requires that you specifically set the amount summoned per set. Put it at the max possible (ideally 5) for set 2, and 0 for set 1

- Create several Bind Spectre gems of any level, Lesser Jeweller's Orb and Vaal Orb them. Once you get a Bind Spectre gem with +1 to level from corruption you can upgrade it with a lvl 20 skill gem.

- Uul-Netol's Embrace can be replaced with Corrosion in Plague Bearer until you can afford it

- For pinnacle bosses you can swap Bursting Plague for Minion Pact II (if you have Skeletal Sniper) in Plague Bearer
For Decompose you can potentially replace Encroaching Ground for Deliberation (Poison III/Admixture)

- Only want one Skeletal Sniper. Press the command skill to get Kurgal's Leash buff for 15s.
To make sure that Skeletal Sniper does not get consumed by Decompose, you need to plug in a controller to enable the "exclude from targeting" option. Here is a Video Guide

- Her Declaration in Withering Presence only if you have a 30 extra spirit

- Discipline is the one from set 1 Stoic Sceptre, only add supports if you have extra spirit

- Lineage gem priority: Arakaali's Lust > Uhtred's Augury > Uul-Netol's Embrace > Dialla's Desire > Her Declaration > Uhtred's Omen

- Take a mix of Dexterity and Intelligence (splash of strength for Stoic Sceptre's if needed)

- Unstable Bond gives a 15% damage boost whenever you weapon swap to Decompose your Bind Spectre's. After 4 seconds, it will hit you with physical damage and give you the damage buff

- You can replace Shadow Dancing with Marathon Runner if you want more sprint speed

- The choice of third/fourth ascendancy can be up to preference:

  • Traveller's Wisdom to stack attributes and convert travel nodes into 5% damage/defence (recommend getting a Legacy of Greymake first, , best ascendancy once you get one)
    • Replace attribute travel nodes going from start all the way to the jewel socket near Void with 5% increased global defence. The rest you can get 5% increased damage (or more defence if you prefer)
  • Sustainable Practices to get a significant defence boost against elemental damage (can replace Relentless Pursuit)
  • Running Assault to get better sprint and faster movement during cast

Frequently Asked Questions

- I can't use my weapon set passive points, why?

You first need normal passive points before you can split them with the weapon set points. So to apply the max 24 weapon points for each set, you first need 24 normal passive points available to use

- How come I can't summon Bind Spectre's each time I swap weapons?

When one of our Bind Spectre's die, it start the minion respawn timer. Normally takes up to 8-11 seconds before they can spawn again. When outside combat, weapon swapping bypasses this timer, and always spawns your minions instantly. When in-combat however, you need to wait for this timer to run out first or use Grim Feast to resummon them a limited number of extra times

- My minions have a X MINUTE respawn timer?!

This happens due to the game letting you have more minions selected than your spirit allows. Make sure to press the - (minus) button to reduce the amount of minions you have until the + (plus) lights up, and click that once

- Why aren't my Bind Spectre's summoned when I swap to set 2?

First thing to check is the skill gem section of the current variant you are playing. Each skill should only be active on one of the two sets. Bind Spectre requires that you specifically set the amount summoned per set. Put it at the max possible for set 2, and none for set 1. This is all done in the skill specific stat window. First access skill gem menu (default G), then click the small arrow on the right side next to the DPS number for a particular skill and then on the menu that appears bottom right checkboxes. Refer to Dual Specialisation gem section

- Why is my Plague Bearer doing so little damage?

The higher the level of Plague Bearer, the significantly more damage it can deal. Focus this over other intelligence spirit gems early

- How come Skeletal Sniper is dying constantly to Decompose?

To make sure that Skeletal Sniper does not get consumed by Decompose, you need to plug in a controller to enable the "exclude from targeting" option. Here is a Video Guide

- Why do I take damage after I weapon swap?
Your total energy shield might change significantly and/or Unstable Bond gives a 15% damage boost whenever you weapon swap and Decompose your Bind Spectre's. After 4 seconds, it will hit you with physical damage and give you the damage buff

- Where can I find the answer to a question that's not in the FAQ?

- How did I just die while I had energy shield?!

It was Guatelitzi's Thesis or Aurseize, it kills you if you don't have some source of flat regen like Snakebite

How it Works

This build revolves around the Decompose skill that gets cast every time you take a step with Corpsewade boots equipped. It automatically targets dead enemies around you (corpses), consuming them to create poison clouds that slowly expand. It deals pseudo-hit chaos damage poison based on the life of that enemy before it died, meaning it scales with monster HP and level.

Sacrifice allows Decompose to trigger on our own undead minions (Bind Spectre), meaning we can spawn poison clouds without needing to kill something first. Thus Decompose will do more damage the more life the Bind Spectre has.

To spawn Bind Spectre's to create poison clouds when we need them, we use weapon swapping. This way we can have all our de-buffs and buffs active on Set 1, minions and Sacrifice active on Set 2, thus effectively doubling our usable spirit. So when we swap to Set 2 our minions instantly spawn next to us and Decompose targets them as we step.

Each Bind Spectre targeted by Decompose will spawn it's own poison cloud. Each cloud applies one poison per 2 seconds up to a maximum poison capacity. With Stacking Toxins, Building Toxins, 2x Talisman of Thruldana and Overwhelming Toxicity our maximum poison capacity becomes 10. More poison clouds = more poisons per second, NOT more damage. It just means you reach the poison capacity faster, and stay at max longer.

When one of our Bind Spectre's die, it will start the minion respawn timer. Normally it can take 10-16 seconds before they can spawn naturally again. When outside combat, weapon swapping bypasses this timer, and always spawns your minions instantly. When in-combat however, you usually have to wait, luckily Grim Feast can ressurrect your minions. You can keep casting it until you don't summon any more minions before swapping back to Set 1. Decompose clouds last long enough that you don't need to resummon minions often anyway.

During maps, we don't want to wait for this timer before we can spawn clouds, so we use Plague Bearer instead for killing packs of monsters. As long as a couple monsters survive, Decompose will target the corpses of stuff we kill and poison those remaining monsters. This refills our Plague Bearer instantly meaning we can use it again for the next pack of monsters. When casting Plague Bearer, make sure to hit several packs of monsters, we don't want to kill everything with one cast. Decompose clouds should clean up stragglers.

Plague Bearer will only gather poison when using Set 1. Make sure to stay in Set 1 whenever possible, as our de-buffs such as Blasphemy with Temporal Chains and Despair are only active when that set is equipped.

- Patch 0.2.0: (03.04.2025)

  • Corpsewade 75% less base scaling (now 10%, was 39.5%)
  • Skeletal Brute lost 20% more life quality (15% less damage)
  • Meat Shield no longer gives 50% more life (33% less damage)
  • Sceptres went from 5 to 4 to max levels for minions (9% less damage)
  • Lightning Warp has weaker shock (10% less damage)
  • Despair reduced to 24% (from 36%)
  • You can only have 6 poison clouds active at any time
  • Withering Presence is now better
  • Grim Feast deleted
  • Eye of Winter won't apply Wither via Withering Touch reliably

- Patch 0.4.0: (05.12.2025)

  • Pathfinder changed
    • Contagious Contamination removed (Lose base poison prolif from build, butEncroaching Ground, Bursting Plague and Contagion makes up for it no problem)
    • Overwhelming Toxicity now only 2 ascendancy points total (+2 ascendancy points free!)
    • Running Assault now gives cannot be knocked down while sprinting (Possible option?)
    • Replacement for Traveller's Wisdom gives us access to witch starting area (Can save passive points?, -1 passive to build currently)
    • Traveller's Wisdom now gives 5% damage/Defence as options instead of attributes on travel passive node (Insanely OP?!, could give a LOT of damage or defence to the build)
  • Uul-Netol's Embrace Buffed! (now 40% as extra chaos, was 20%)
  • Arakaali's Lust Buffed! (Now 40% more, was 30%)
  • Courtesan Mannan's Rune of Cruelty now has a max limit of 1 (now 20%, was 15%)
  • Fenumus' Rune of Draining now has a max limit of 1
  • Talisman of Thruldana now has a limit of 1 (- 2 max poisons for singletarget)
  • Ghost Dance has a max of 3 charges, charge delay doubled (now 6s, was 3s)
  • Last but not least, Sacrifice now only has a 40% revive speed penalty (was 60%), which means we no longer need a Megalomaniac with Restless Dead

- Updates for patch 0.4 (06.12.2025)

  • Set 1 points now take Forthcoming for reduced shroud delay on Ghost Dance
  • Plague Bearer no longer needs Corrosion if you have Uul-Netol's Embrace for singletarget
  • Herald of Plague is NOT required for clear (tested), so keeping Desert Buckler for defence
  • Megalomaniac no longer needs Restless Dead
  • Added options explanation for fourth ascendancy: Running Assault, Traveller's Wisdom, Sustainable Practices

  • Ghost Dance changed again, now doesn't give energy shield instantly and instead "2% of your Evasion Rating per second". Reduced duration no longer works on it, and uses cooldown reduction instead, so Second Wind I and other supports will work.
  • Pathfinder changed:
    • Overwhelming Toxicity now 50% less poison duration (was 35%)
    • Running Assault now 30% less movement penalty (was 50%)
  • Uhtred's Augury now +2 to level of skill (was 3). Not really worth it anymore
  • Grim Feast now has a 1 second cooldown
  • Fixed bug were Grim Feast failed to revive minions
  • The Bogfelled Commoner now has a Spectre variant for the boss version of the monster
  • ES wheels such as Patient Barrier, Convalescence and Subterfuge Mask nerfed
