*12/19/2024 - Adjusted build to add Brute Strength, removing the Jagged Ground Passives
This build is the current one I'm using for leveling, utilizing the wombo-combo of the Shockwave Totem & Earthquake abilities to create a ton of fun wave clear as well as generating lots of stun to help you smash through large waves of monsters.
When dealing with single target Bosses/Rares/Uniques, we'll be using Perfect Strike in conjunction with Resonating Shield to do heavy damage, break armor, and chunk down hard targets.
Support skills like Infernal Cry will Empower our big heavy hitting abilities, Sunder helps with ranged clearing when you get in to some spicier situations, and Leap Slam affords us both mobility, another source of shockwave, AND trigger slams on Stun Build Up.
Build Variants
Swap Variants for different weapon loadouts
You'll start with either a 2h weapon, or dual wielding - whichever you're more comfortable with. Using a mace + shield in the early game is FINE, but it's just slow, so you might as well have fun with big damage numbers.
Once you get both Giant's Blood AND your first two points in your Ascendancy, you'll invest in a strong 2h weapon + a good shield with HIGH ARMOR as that armor adds to your damage value of shield skills
Target Values:
- Our focus is on getting 60%+ armor damage mitigation,
- 75% Block chance (that's the cap, and because of our passives that puts us at 75% increased damage)
- IDEALLY max resists, but I'd say try for 40% initially and build from there. It's easier when you're a higher level where higher value mods spawn

Equipment
Weapon stat priority is as follows (regardless of 1h or 2h):
- + Increased Physical Damage %
- + Attack Speed
- + Physical Damage (# to #) - this one is the fixed number
- Strength
- Anything else nice - life leech, life gain, mana gain, mana leech, etc.
We care about Physical damage and not "Fire damage" or "Elemental Damage" because ALL of our skills convert physical damage to a percentage of that skill's fire damage. Perfect strike for example converts "40% of Physical Damage to Fire Damage." So by us having higher Physical, we convert more to Fire.
Shield stat priority is as follows
- + Armor % (Remember, the higher the armor on your shield, the more damage your shield skills do)
- + Armor (flat value)
- Max Health
- Resistances
Armor stat priority is as follows
- Max Health
- Resistances
- Whatever stats fit the needs of your build after that
The true defense in this game is in your health and resistance. Treat your armor as your defense, and your passive skill tree as your offense, and you'll be able to have a bunch of tools at your disposal without feeling pigeon holed. Pivot into any stat that fits the needs of what you're lacking!
Other Stats to Look For:
- + To All Melee Skills
- + to Movement Speed (get these on boots always)
- + to Attack Speed
- + to Block Chance
- All resists
- Life/Mana Leech/Regen/On Hit/On Kill

You'll use the skills as you get them, focusing on Shockwave Totem, Earthquake, and Rolling Slam to start. Those will be your bread and butter.
Use Rolling Slam as an initiating skill: when you charge in to combat, use it just short of the enemy and it'll carry you in for some early damage.

Passive Tree
Focusing our passives on Shield/Block mechanics, fire damage, one-handed weapon damage, and totem and warcry buffs.
How it Plays
This build is a nuketown extravaganza. The entire screen will be exploding with amped up shockwaves, aftershocks, and big booms.
I won't lie to you, this MIGHT be better served as a Titan than a Warbringer, but I'm deadset on making Totems work. Right now, the Ancestral Spirits integration is lackluster, so that should change in a patch which will invariably change this build. But! As is, the Totems are the vehicles that we use to trigger our Jagged Ground which then creates shockwaves that do damage AND do massive amounts of Stun Buildup.
We trigger the stun build up by using any of our Slams - which there are plenty: Leaping Slam, Boneshatter, Rolling Slam, etc.
How it Works
Rotation:
- Open engagement by placing your Shockwave Totems(1 at the start, then 2, and eventually 3 at max passives).
- Immediately use Earthquake twice, trying to spread them out just to the left and right of your character.
- Spam your Mace Strike or Resonating Shield. This will help spread either bleeding or broken armor, depending on the circumstance. I'd recommend Shield for bosses, and mace strike for mapping.
- Once you've built up stun, use Leap Slam or Boneshatter to trigger a large, rippling explosion.
- Rinse and Repeat
Boss Rotation:
- Open engagement by placing your Shockwave Totems to the left and right of the boss. (1 at the start, then 2, and eventually 3 at max passives). This is crucial because the boss will focus these totems sometimes, allowing you to move around more. Just one totem can be fine, but they essentially "off tank" for you - they're not strong enough to tank full time.
- Immediately use Earthquake twice, trying to spread them out just to the left and right of your character.
- Spam your Resonating Shield. Just walk around slowly, building lots of break armor to the point that it either shatters, or you find an opening to start doing damage.
- Once you've built up stun, use Leap Slam or Boneshatter to trigger a large, rippling explosion.
- This should trigger a Heavy Stun, this is when you'll use Infernal Cry which empowers your next attack, and then do as many perfectly timed Perfect Strikes as you can. You should start tanking the bosses health with each one.
- Rinse and Repeat
