Build Overview

This build uses Thunderstorm & Shock Conduction II to get 100% shock chance on enemies, and use those shocks to trigger tons of Comets with Cast on Elemental Ailment. We take Chaos Inoculation for defense, and the Shaman ascendancy adds solid damage and defense value, especially the Wisdom of the Maji & Reactive Growth nodes.

This is an endgame guide focused mostly on farming high tier maps & juiced content, but the basic setup & ideas should work right from the start of mapping and potentially even earlier.

Build Variants

Idea of the initial stats & gear you want as you farm your earlier T15 maps & content. First main goal is getting good ES gear to be able to go Chaos Inoculation.

*GEAR NOTES*

Darkness Enthroned socketed with Idol of Maxarius & Craiceann's Rune of Recovery. Hitting 100% effect is very strong here, as it hits a breakpoint for another +1 storm limit from the idol.

First focus for gearing is CI pieces, I'd recommend getting to at least 7-8k ES before swapping CI, prior to that looking for hybrid life/ES items & probably a rare belt.

You need a source of damage gained as lightning to enable your Entangle to also shock enemies. Ideally you have it as a roll on your weapon or on a Heart of the Well, but prior to these you can use a Greater Storm Rune.

Heart of the Well mods: Gain as lightning, %ES from body armor, then for suffixes things like crit chance/damage, stun threshold from ES, or movespeed


STAT PRIORITIES:

Weapon: +all spell level > spell damage > gain as extra > crit chance/multi > cast speed

Chest/Helm/Gloves/Boots: movespeed for boots > big ES rolls > resistances > crit for helmet/gloves

Amulet: spirit > +3 spells if you're rich > big ES rolls > crit damage > resists/cast speed/crit chance

Rings: resistances > mana/cast speed > %lightning/%cold damage/mana regen > spell damage on full life (desecrated prefix)

Basic skill setup is Thunderstorm to drench, which allows guaranteed shock from Shock Conduction II. Use both Thunderstorm & Entangle to apply many shocks and trigger Comet from Cast on Elemental Ailment.

Follow up thunderstorms with Living Bomb to help pop weaker trash mobs & gain infusions which more than double the damage of Comet. Also gives the Archon effect with Arbiter's Ignition.

On tanky rares, bosses, or areas where you just want to cover lingering damage, add in an Entangle cast.

Apocalypse on cooldown pretty much to help clear & boosts single target by applying critical weakness from Effigy of Cruelty.

Mana Remnants is very nice for mana sustain while clearing mobs, and does decently well against bosses as well. If you don't have enough spirit, you can instead opt for Clarity I or Clarity II in your Convalescence (or if you have extra spirit you can run one of these AND mana remnants)

Khatal's Rejuvenation on the Mana Remnants is nice to have if you can fit the extra spirit reservation, but may require downgrading or dropping your Clarity support. If your mana is rough I would skip this gem.

Before & after grabbing Chaos Inoculation, the tree stays the same, just spend the 1 point for CI once you have enough ES.
