Build Overview

This build takes full advantages of Skeletal Arsonist and buffs them up to do insane amounts of damage. We are also able to achieve fantastic levels of survivability through Altered Flesh. This build is fantastic for all forms of content as it has great boss damage and great AOE damage.

Most of your damage is coming from you Scepter, helmet minion ranks, and chest spirit.

For defense the most important stats are going to be resistances. Try to get fire resistance cap on your shield.

On your necklace you will get a massive survivability boost if you get Heatproofing via the Distilled Emotions.

For your army you want 2 Skeletal Cleric and then full Skeletal Arsonist. Grim Feast is going to generate insane amounts of Energy Shield when clearing lots of enemies, but against bosses you can drop it for an extra Skeletal Arsonist if you want to.

For your ascendency get Beidat's Hand before Beidat's Will. You will have plenty of damage but you need the tankiness.

If you are feeling too squishy remove points from Left Hand of Darkness and instead put them into Melding near the start of the tree.

How it Plays

The gameplay is a bit different when mapping than when fighting bosses. In both cases you want to keep up Pain Offering and Flame Wall as much as possible. However in aoe you will be spamming Detonate Dead while against bosses you will just keep up Flammability. Keep in mind that Malice is an incredible aura from your Scepter, so try to stay relatively close to enemies to maintain the buff.

How it Works

This build relies on destroying enemy resistances with a combination of Flammability and Fire Exposure which massively increases the damage of your Skeletal Arsonist. Make sure your Skeletal Arsonist are always throwing their grenades through Flame Wall and keep up Pain Offering as much as possible.

Defensively we are making incredible use of Altered Flesh in multiple ways. The first is with the conversions of Cold and Lightning to Fire damage, which then allows us to stack Maximum Fire Resistance and mitigate a huge amount of damage. We are also able to get Heatproofing on our amulet to reduce the damage even further. In terms of Physical Damage, we make great use of armor by converting 20% of Physical Damage to Chaos Damage, and then our Summon Infernal Hound absorbs another 20% of the damage. This means our Armour is only being applied against about 60% of the damage, allowing it to heavily mitigate incoming damage even with low amounts of Armour.
