Build Overview

This is IN DEPTH Guide for my Unarmed Hollow Palm Lightning Monk for 0.3

Will be UPDATED for 0.4 ASAP - so after changes in 0.4 We are going to lose some speed but the concept should be alive especially since basic Unarmed Speed is improved.

Will do a more detailed update soon.

Guide will lead you from League Start to Becoming an embodiment of SPEED with 14+ Attacks per second, literally FLYING through maps while clearing whole screens and insta killing T4 Pinnacles.

==========================================================

This build guide will help you to pick the gear and gems and setup your Hollow Palm Monk Build.

In the Endgame we are going to utilize Tempest Flurry to FLY through maps at HYPER SPEED + Staggering Palm which provides screen clear with projectiles. Check the video to see how it works.

Since Build has massive amount of attacks with Combo Generation - Falling Thunder can be used as a finisher combined with combos from Culmination II.

We can also use Wind Dancer to generate Power Charges to fuel both - finisher and Charged Staff for even better clear. Tech will be explained in the Skill section down Below.

All of that while staying VERY TANKY, with 6k+ ES, 55-60% Evasion, 30% Deflection + Blasphemy with defensive aura. Making that build an ULTIMATE ALL ROUNDER!

❗ How to Craft Armour Gear for the Build - Step by Step Guide

❗ How to Craft Jewelry for the Build - Step by Step Guide

==========================================================

▸ Helmet

  • The most important stat on the Helmet is Energy Shield. Try to aim for a helmet with 450+ Energy Shield, ideally 500+.
  • Second important stat is Critical Strike Chance, get it as high as you can.
  • Other important thing to get is Resistances.
  • Intelligence works too but is less desirable.

▸ Body Armour

  • As with the Helmet, Energy Shield (and Evasion) are the most important stats. Aim for 1500+ Evasion and 400+ Energy Shield.
  • Get Resistances to reach the cap.
  • Faster Start of Energy Shield Recharge helps with Energy Shield sustain, but is a bit less desirable.

▸ Gloves

  • The most important stat is Attack Speed.
  • 100% Increased effect of Socketed Items is VERY important, but mostly if you will get Talisman of Sirrius inside. Make sure that your gloves have AT LEAST 2 sockets, otherwise this stat is very average.
  • If you can't afford Increased effect/Sirrius, focus on getting flat damage, ideally high Tier Physical Dmg to Attacks + Lightning Dmg to Attacks.
  • +2 Melee Levels is the least important stat, feel free to sacrifice it if you've got everything above.

DO NOT PUT Talisman of Sirrius INTO GLOVES WITHOUT SOCKETED EFFECT, this is a waste of money.

▸ Boots

  • Deflection Rating is the most important stat, since it helps us boost survivability.
  • Getting High evasion is very important too, since it boosts both servivability and Attack Speed due to Hollow Palm Technique.
  • 100% Increased effect of Socketed Items is good to boost Evasion further, make sure the boots have at least 2 sockets if you look for it.
  • Movement Speed is less important, since we mostly move using Tempest Flurry.

▸ Amulet

  • +3 Melee Levels is very important, since we don't get a lot of extra levels anywhere else.
  • Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Multiplier are both important to have together.
  • Defences (Energy Shield and Evasion Rating) are great to have.
  • Instill Deep Trance.

▸ Belt

  • Get Darkness Enthroned with "...gains bonuses as though it was Gloves".
  • ❗READ WHAT YOU BUY. TYPES ARE DIFFERENT

Alternatively, you can use Headhunter if you believe your speed is high enough.

▸ Ring

  • Flat Physical and Flat Lightning are a huge boost to dmg.
  • ONE OF THE RINGS: Leech Physical damage as Mana
  • Resistances as much as possible, rings are your main source of resistances.

▸Jewels

  • Try to use Time Lost Sapphire with Energy Shield + x2 Crit Bonuses Around Walker of the Wilds
  • Rest of the jewels should have Stun Threshold / Crit Chance + Dmg / ES

Time-Lost Sapphire Increased Global Defences stat is BUGGED on trade and you can't target-search for it. You can ONLY search for it manually, checking every listing. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

What to do on a BUDGET / If you don't have enough Currency:

So if you don't have enough currency at the moment there are a few changes that can help you.

1. Use this guide to Craft ALL Armour for this Build Yourself - Step by Step Guide

2. Instead of Expensive Gloves like above, just use basic HIGH Evasion Gloves (As high as you can get) with 16% Attack Speed AND +2 to melee skills. It should boost your Attack speed just fine.

3. Instead of Talisman of Sirrius in BOTH Gloves and Belt, just use The Greatwolf's Rune of Claws

4. Focus on getting good Hybrid Body armour with a lot of Evasion / Energy shield at the same time.

5. After Body armour, try to get boots and helmet. Amulet comes last and rings should be used just for resistances.

▸ How we generate POWER CHARGES:

To generate Power Charges we need to add Culmination II + Ailith Chimes Supports to the Wind Dancer.

That way you will generate combo for it (even if you cant see them) and when any enemy will hit you triggering shockwave from Wind Dancer combo will be expended and you will get MAX Power charges.

Video with Timestamp for full explanation of the tech - https://youtu.be/V2FWrgtQvB0?si=7PwpYrv33EeCIoVk&t=452

▸ How to Use Staggering Palm for Clear:

To get the buff from Staggering Palm you will need to use it a few times every 30s and stun the enemy with it. Look at your left corner to check if the buff is active.

if you are not stunning often enough - add more flat dmg on rings and use skill more often.

Tempest Flurry Supports and Options (Speed / Mana / Combo):

In this Monk build we have a lot of options for Tempest Flurry supports.

In my setup Efficiency II is necessary to fix mana / provide Quality of Life, but if you just want more DMG you can drop it.

If you are using Rigwald's Ferocity, make sure that you have weapon set 1 ON and NOT Weapon Set 2. That way you will get speed bonus instead of Damage one.

Both Crescendo II and Rage III can give us 15% MORE Attack speed which is very important to reach hyper speed. So keep them both in the build.

In some situations Rage III can be replaced since it is NOT providing a bonus when you are at maximum rage. You can swap it to Elemental Armament II for more damage if you generate Rage fast already.

FOR BOSSES you can also replace Efficiency II with Practiced Combo to prepare your finisher faster, but in the most situations it is unnecessary.

▸ Auras Priority / What to do if you don't have enough Spirit:

This build is VERY Flexible in terms of Spirit and Auras since it is Invoker and Lead me through Grace... with good body armour provides A LOT of it.

If for some reason you don't have enough just drop Precision I, Clarity I or Clarity II or all of those.

Priority for the rest of the auras will be:

1. Wind Dancer

2. Convalescence

3. Herald of Thunder

4. Blasphemy

5. Ghost Dance

▸ How to use Falling Thunder as a Finisher / Against Rares:

In this Monk build we are attacking at Hyper Speed with Tempest Flurry and natively will generate A LOT of combo. So to properly use Falling Thunder you just need to add Culmination II and Pinpoint Critical.

Make sure that you critical chance for the skill is always at 100% with Pinpoint Critical added.

Ideally you will need to use the skill when you have 5 Power Charges for maximum damage, so let the boss or rare hit you ONCE to get the charges from Wind Dancer.

IMPORTANT - If you are using Ambrosia - make sure that you have 120+ Charges in your Mana Flask.

▸ How to Fight bosses FASTER (Like Arbiter):

In that case you can swap Culmination II and Ailith's Chimes + Charge Profusion II to Quarterstaff Strike and use it once when you have a lot of combos to get your charges so you can use Falling Thunder right after.

▸ How to Get enough Attributes

Except for your main skills, you DON'T need to get everything else to lvl 20 if you DON'T have enough stats.

▸ Curse Level for Blasphemy:

For Temporal Chains to work properly make sure that you have at as high as possible (level 18+) so it will be applied to stronger enemies too.

▸ What If you dont have enough Levels:

In such case you can drop Chakra of Impact and all following points. If it is still not enough you can also get rid of Crashing Wave and Insightfulness right after.

▸ How to Fix MANA:

Mana Leech is MANDATORY for the build. Take Walker of the Wilds + Ring with Physical Damage Leeched as Mana to get your Leech going.

Since we already have Efficiency II in the build, mana situation should be alright. However I still recommend to take at least Efficient Casting for even more QoL.

If you still have issues you can invest further into Conservative Casting as well but it is not recommended at the moment.

▸ How to NOT Get Stunned

  • You can pick 1 Stun Threshold notable on the way to Abasement or proceed even further down the line if you're still getting stunned
  • Get "Gain % of Energy Shield as Stun Threshold" on Jewels
  • You can also pick stun Threshold as Venom Reward

▸ Comparing Meditate vs Unbound Avatar vs I am the Blizzard...

  1. Meditate is an incredible way to quickly and easily restore our Energy Shield AND also get overflow on top boosting our ES pool higher. It's an amazing defensive option.
  2. Unbound Avatar is a good damage boost, however it's not extremely reliable, especially for bosses that have stages or that don't have monsters preceding the boss fight (e.g. Arbiter).
  3. I am the Blizzard... provides a bit of damage on top. It's more reliable than Avatar and could be used if you want some stable dps, but the increase is not too strong.

Personally, I prefer to run Meditate because of how good this node is defense-wise.

Atlas Tree

How it Works

If you die RANDOMLY

Check that your Mana flask doesn't have "% mana recovered is removed from Life". It literally one shots you when you use the mana flask.

Get ANYTHING else on your Mana Flask.
