Build Overview

In Patch 0.2.0 Hammer of the Gods no longer has cooldown, making it pointless to play HotG on Chronomancer :(

Venom Draught Quest: Chaos Resistance and Ailment Threshold.

Shortly about build if you're not familiar with original:

  • Hammer of the Gods has long cooldown, normally can be used once.
  • Time Snap from Chronomancer ascendancy reset cooldowns allowing to use Hammer of the Gods again.
  • Now and Again grant 33% chance for skills to not go on cooldown, so you can cast multiple Hammer of the Gods before it goes on cooldown.

While this setup is very similar, gameplay is different. On Bleed setup you don't need to use all Hammers at once, but on this you can, and should.

Build Variants

HOW IT WORKS:

Polcirkeln with Herald of Ice and Cold Infusion on any skill you want to use for clearing.

Combo is simple:
- Stampede can Chill with Cold Infusion
- Polcirkeln cause Chilled enemies shatter on kill as if they frozen
- Herald of Ice trigger Explosion on shattering enemy.

Gear above is my actual gear in game!

About gear:

  • 2Handed mace (FOR CLEARING):
    - High Physical DPS, +# to All Melee Skills is not really needed.
    - Low enough Strength requirement to use it.
    *So if Mace require 150Str, you need to have 450Str to use it due to Giant's Blood.
  • 2Handed maces (FOR SINGLE TARGET):
    - Decent Physical DPS with +# to All Melee Skills.
    - One of Maces should have Life Leech, or get it on Ring or Gloves.
    - Any good suffixes: Strength, Stun Buildup. Stun Duration.
  • Shield (once you get Giant's Blood):
    - High Block, around 40% or more.
    - High Life, Strength.
    - #% Additional Physical Damage Reduction, roll up to 8%.
    - Preferably cap Resists without Shield, so when you swap to Set 2, your Resistances are still fine.
  • Armour:
    - Overall it's Life + Resists + Strength.
    - Gloves with +2 to All Melee Skills.
    - Boots with Movement Speed obviously.
    - Getting Morior Invictus with Life/Attributes is first priority as it's greatly increase Life compare to any rare Body Armor.
    - Trampletoe for single target with Shield Wall.
  • Belt and rings:
    - Overall it's Life + Resists + Strength.
    *You can get Accuracy on Jewellery to drop Resolute Technique.
    - One of Rings is Polcirkeln. For corrupted enchant look for %Life regeneration or %Skill Speed.
  • Amulet:
    - First priority is +3 to All Melee Skills.
    - Then Life and All Attributes which will help with Herald of Ice Dex/Int requirements.
    - Then anything extra like more Strength, or extra Resists.

    Titanic for Instil.
  • Jewels:
    - One Jewel with Gain 1 Rage on Hit.
    - Attack/Melee Damage, Damage with Maces.
    - Prism of Belief with Hammer of the Gods, +2 Level goes for 1 Divine.
    - Against the Darkness jewel with 4% strength on notable passives in jewel socket next to Split the Earth.

Some notes:

Second Wind is used for Time Snap until you get last 5th support socket for Hammer of the Gods then use it there.

For clearing (mapping) use Shield Charge instead of Shield Wall.

  • Set 1 (Pink) for clearing, set all Skills only to set 1 except Hammer of the Gods and Warcries.
  • Set 2 (Green) for single target, set only Hammer of the Gods and Warcries to set 2.
  • Persistence buff enabled for both sets.

How it Plays

Clearing:

  • Stampede most of the time.
  • Perfect Strike for rare mobs, if needed Hammer of the Gods.

Single Target(Pinnacle Bosses) with Shield Wall:

  • Swap boots to Trampletoe.
  • Place Shield Walls to generate Rage.
  • Once Boss can be damaged, use Infernal Cry then Hammer of the Gods, then quickly use one Shield Wall before Hammer falls.
  • Repeat if needed, use Seismic Cry if Boss is Heavy Stunned.

Single Target(Pinnacle Bosses) for Fire Setup with Solar Orb:

  • Drop Solar Orb to generate Rage, and keep it up during fight.
  • Once Boss can be damaged, use Infernal Cry then Hammer of the Gods.
  • Repeat, when Boss Heavy Stunned use Seismic Cry.

Can use Leap Slam with Holy Descent to get some Life regeneration.
