Build Overview

Extremely high DPS Bosser and S-tier mapping build, but not a Starter as the required unique drops from the Breachstone boss Xesht.

This build uses massive flat lightning damage and attack speed from gloves to push enormous numbers of Bolts through your crossbow, stacking 1% more damage per thanks to Fresh Clip. On a halfway geared stat stacking Gemling this a 2.5x multiplier to damage to yield 8-figure DPS numbers in a very tanky and mobile full screen clearing package.

Can also be played as a Witch Hunter or Deadeye but you'll have to make adjustments for Mana and it won't perform quite as well at high budgets.

Crossbow Priorities

  1. Attack Speed

DON'T GET ONE WITH PHYSICAL DAMAGE RUNES. You want Attack Speed instead

Morior Invictus

I personally think the best one is %Attributes + %Mana with 5 sockets. Mana spend is very high, so having a good pool so that it never dips feels very good. Super endgame budget is probably %Attributes + %All Ele Res

IMPORTANT!!!! - The chest rolls several different mods, make SURE you get %Attribs at a minimum. %Mana is secondary but extremely nice.

Rings

Fix any resistance issues you have, then prioritize Dex/Int/All Attribs, then Mana/Life. Flat Lightning Damage to Attacks can roll quite high here, if you can get it do it.

Boots / Helm

Fix any resistance issues you have, get as much movement speed as possible. Ideally you'd have Energy Shield bases to take advantage of Grim Feast's ES doubling and sustain. Flat Intelligence is also an important stat to look for.

High budget can go for Black Sun Crest but it will apply more pressure to your resistances, so you'll probably want the %All Elemental Resistances flavor of Morior Invictus

Amulet

Best in slot is an Astramentis but it's not necessary AT ALL. I used a Lapis Amulet with %Increased Maximum Mana and %All Attributes/Int/Dex which can be found on trade for 1/20th the price of an Astramentis and function just as well. For context, Astramentis is about a 25% dps increase.

Annoint options: Branching Bolts for clear, Step Like Mist for movement speed, Insightfulness for damage / int

!! IMPORTANT

Time-Lost Diamond

Ideally above the Attribute wheel, the ideal jewel would have some combination of:

  • %inc dexterity
  • %inc intelligence
  • %extra lightning damage
  • 1% mana

Controlled Metamorphosis

This jewel allows you to allocate passives in a wheel of varying size. I am using a Large in the jewel socket near Falcon Technique to allocate %movement speed nodes.

How it Plays

Mapping

Blast with Galvanic Shards. Everything dies.


Bossing

1. Drop a ripwire ballista or two when you first enter to generate Rage for free damage.

2. Spam Shockburst Rounds for a few seconds before the boss phases in

3. Conductivity / Voltaic Mark

4. Stormcaller Arrow to apply a huge and durable Shock

5. Hold down Shockburst Rounds until they die

6. Optionally: Use Emergency Reload when your bolts get low for an additional boost to damage, this will Empower a full clip worth of Shockburst Rounds for a substantial amount of additional damage.
