Witchhuntershoot crossbow. things die.
I'm currently playing the build again and in the process of updating things further. I'm using 
Constricting Command and sticking to life & armor/eva + 
Sorcery Ward + deflection for defense, instead of going energy shield.
use the "v2" Build Variant to see this new version!
25+ div setup, using Life/Eva
be sure to LOCK YOUR WEAPON TO BOTH SETS and toggle 
Shockburst Rounds and 
Plasma Blast to use ONLY SET 2, with ALL other skills using ONLY SET 1
to lock your weapon:
in your Inventory, hover over the "I" icon above your crossbow and right click it
to change your skills to use diff Sets:
in your Skills, open the "extra info" panel (">") and find the toggle in the bottom right
afterwards, you'll need to assign a SEPARATE KEYBIND for firing your Set 2 crossbow bolts (I put mine on Middle Mouse)
ensure your Constricting Command is EXACTLY "5 fewer enemies"
> 6 works too but is unnecessarily expensive (same effect as 5)
get flat lightning (or phys) dmg wherever you can (rings, gloves)
weapon priorities are:
PREFIX
%phys > +phys > +lightning > %phys/+acc
SUFFIX
+lvl (attack/proj) > %att speed > +%crit chance > +%crit bonus
try to get "gain deflection rating equal to %eva" wherever you can
Corsair Coat is ideal body basetype
instill 
Stormcharged for cheap, 
Wild Storm for $$

Heart of the Well should be "Gain %dmg as lightning" along with any other useful stats
rare jewels are just %dmg, %att speed, %reload speed, %shock mag, %ailment mag, etc
Galvanic Shards shocks things and clears trash w/
Zealous Inquisition
you should TAP FIRE Galvanic Shards (do not hold the hotkey), as it essentially removes the movement speed penalty of firing while moving while retaining basically 100% of the attack speed.
Shockburst Rounds for single target (MUST BE SHOCKED!)
(v1) use both Voltaic Mark + 
Conductivity for tanky things
(v2) open with Plasma Blast on bosses for big dmg + shock
Galvanic Shards = shock + clear (with Zealous Inquisition)
shock = more dmg and enables Shockburst Rounds single target
that's it!
1) buy a better weapon
500+dps (PHYS / LIGHTNING ONLY! NO FIRE / COLD!)
+3 proj skills (pref higher obv)
2) buy rings with flat dmg (also gloves)
+phys or +lightning
remember to catalyze! (Uul-Netol / Esh)
3) (v1) make sure you're using Voltaic Mark + 
Elemental Weakness on tanky foes
if you're still not doing enough damage, double-check your gem sockets and passive tree to ensure you're running the most-optimal setup for your current level.
as for dying:
1) buy a better body armor / helmet
these two slots have the highest defensive roll values
2) add 20% quality all pieces of gear (Armorer's Scraps)
this increases the evasion / energy shield values by 1.2x
if you're sitting around 3k combined life + energy shield, you should be fine (but the more, the merrier!)
you may need to go through the "upgrade" process a couple of times for different progression stages. as you accumulate more currency, be prepared to spend it for a better overall experience!
