Arc Spell Totem Gemling Legionnaire Endgame Build Guide

Updated on Sep 15, 2026
Sep 15, 2026

Build Overview

Welcome to the Arc Spell Totem Gemling Legionnaire Endgame Build. This build crushes the Path of Exile 2 endgame in every way possible. It has colossal AOE, kills the pinnacle Arbiter in 1 second, and flattens the hardest juiced content in the game. The best part? All of this happens while you're 2 screens away, making it one of the safest builds out there. Let's learn how to put this together!

Make sure you have most of the items listed under the Starter Equipment Section before swapping to this build. You should also be around level 75+ with your 3rd Ascendancy Complete.

  • The weapon has 2 major costs. First you need Runeseeker's Call to gain 5 sockets with +200% effect (the level of the spell is irrelevant - we don't use it at all). Second you want Legacy of Lifesprig which at the time of writing this guide costs about 300 Div. After socketing in the other non-expensive runes, you have a weapon that gives +9 to spell levels, a ton of crit, and a major chunk of mana (which is everything to us). There are probably better mirror tier wands out there than this, but at this price point (less than 1/5th of a mirror) this will carry you through everything in the game.
  • For the helmet, save up for a Raven-Touched Shard so we can instill a passive in it. We're going to do a secret one that isn't in the passive tree - Thaumaturgic Generator which costs Melancholy + Disgust + Isolation. This combined with Charge Regulation gives us mega damage.
  • For Mageblood a lot of the powers help us:
    • Amethyst - Chaos Res
    • Bismuth - All Res
    • Diamond - Crit
    • Gold - Rarity
    • Quicksilver - Movement Speed
    • Silver - Skillspeed
  • The best Rite of Passage is Stag, which grants Elemental Res, Skill Speed, Movement Speed, and Damage as Extra Lightning.

The extra spells and their supports are only there to satisfy our Ascendancy requirements, explained below:

  • Virtuous Barrier benefits from having as many intelligence required skills as possible, so we fill out the rest of our slots with spells.
  • Gem Studded gives us all 3 buffs if we have an equal number of supports of each attribute type. Fill in random supports on the extra skills to make these numbers match. If you don't have enough strength or dex to allocate them, respec some of your int on the passive tree (yes the mana lost to make this work is worth it).

Gems Explained

  • Spell Totem should be cut as low as possible to reach exactly Rank 23 because higher ranks cost more mana, and this is the last rank where you get an extra totem. Twice corrupting it to 23% quality is highly recommended because of Advanced Thaumaturgy.
  • Arc is what does everything for us, so investing into a Level 21 with 23% quality is an excellent investment. We don't need any sockets on this because the sockets come from Spell Totem.
    • Rakiata's Flow is god tier for any kind of elemental damage. This also lets us skip every passive point to penetrate resistances.
    • Urgent Totems III is better than it sounds because totem placement speed is critical. Notice how we also take every single node of it in the tree too.
    • Dominus' Grasp is a major damage increased from the quality buff on Arc from Advanced Thaumaturgy
    • Execute III is the best option when we're playing low life. If you don't have the setup, use Sione's Temper.
  • Purity of Lightning can be any of the purities as long as you have your resistances sorted out. We can load this up with expensive spirit supports because they're free (since it comes from our offhand).
  • Archmage gives us mega damage for having extra mana. We allocate Atziri's Communion to make it reserve our life instead. We need this to bring our life value below 30% to take advantage of the low life nodes in the passive tree. That's why I allocate Clarity II and Vitality I -> to increase the spirit costs to bring our life down.
  • Mana Tempest never needs to be used, but if you want extra fire power for a boss, this will delete them.

Passive Tree

How in the world do you path from the Templar side when we're a Gemling Legionnaire? Answer: Split Personality. Walk over from the Gemling starting area over to the jewel socket in front of the Templar and socket this in. Then path to the Templar starting area. Now you can unallocate all the nodes by the Gemling start and you're good to go.

If you don't have enough jewels to make this setup perfectly, or you don't have an Atziri's Communion to grab the low life nodes at the top, omit those until you level up and/or get more currency.

Jewels

  • Split Personality lets us start in the templar area (see above).
  • Prism of Belief needs to be +2 to Arc. With my gear a +2 is good enough to reach the level cap of 40.
  • Megalomaniac lets us grab 2 other notables: Lightning Rod and Carved Earth.
  • Voices gives us extra jewel sockets.
  • Every other jewel should be a Sapphire with 5 affixes:
    • Prefixes: Spell or Elemental Damage and Bonus to Suffixes
    • Suffixes: Critical Hit Damage, Critical Spell Damage, Critical Hit Chance

How it Plays

  1. Lay down all your Spell Totem and watch the screen get vaporized by Arc.
  2. For extra fire power on bosses you can use Flame Wall and Mana Tempest, but these are only necessary for the Starter version.

That's it!

Changelog

9/12/2026 - Swapped Lightning Mastery and Sione's Temper for Lightning Penetration and Zenith II in the mid tier setup to smooth out the damage without Rakiata's Flow and to help keep our mana very high to stay alive.

9/9/2026 - Updated the Starter version of the guide to take Stormkeeper (thanks Kkarumaa).

9/7/2026 - After fighting bosses with the starter gear and Shock taking too long to apply, swapped the passive tree to pick up Power Conduction. Also added Dispatch Foes as the starter annoint because it's cheap and you never crit, its your totems, so you always have the buff.

9/6/2026 - Updated the Starter Passive Tree and wrote some more hints on gearing.

9/5/2026 - Updated the Starter gear, gems and passive tree after making the full respec on the 0.5.5 league.

9/4/2026 - Updated the Intro, Starter Gear Section, Starter Gem Section, Starter Passive Tree, and How It Plays sections for the 0.5.5 league launch.

9/4/2026 - Rewrote a new Starter build for the 0.5.5 league launch with much cheaper items and a new passive tree. Moved the old "Starter" build to Mid Tier.

7/19/2026 - Added the Ascendancy Points on the YT video.

7/17/2026 - Wrote the starter version and updated the expensive one to include Voices and Megalomaniac.

7/15/2026 - Updated all the gear pieces.

7/11/2026 - Major revision updated every facet of the guide.

7/09/2026 - Planner created, but its not even close to done.

Hey there - Dad Gamer here. I have built starter version and it is really good fun (thx again for a gr8 build) - and while my gear is getting slowly better - I am wondering how best to get to mid version? Should I aim for the Passive tree respec first or better gear? If passive tree - what sort of power spike does swapping the passive tree give - as 30 Div for a Split Personality Warrior is a lot for me (some recommed in the comments). Would I be better looking for gear with that 30 Div - or holding off to get a Templar 70 Div version first and then respec passives from starter to mid and then go gear?

Where is this paragon skill on the tree? I put it in the search and nothing

Hidden anointment. It won't show up on the passive tree. You need ferocity, isolation, despair in that order to anoint the amulet

I think they fixed the free Spirit Gems. Now it’s a display issue. I pulled them from my Scepter and it works again.

Thanks Rax! I love the build. I anointed Efficient Inscriptions on my Amulet, and that gave me my 4th totem as was short on spirit by 47. Might want to provide that as an option for Starter Build!

Thanks for all your hard work Raxx. I appreciate it a lot.

Been away for a few days, any consensus on which corruption is better? 21/20 or 20/23?

Quick question about mageblood, I saw you recommended a bunch of different stats on it but what would you say is the most beneficial/strongest ones to shoot for? Since you can only get 4.

I have a technical question. I have a wand with +3 ranks, as well as 82% spell damage and 99% lightning damage. I haven't found an affordable +5 with numbers that raw. Would the +5 be enough damage to swing the balance on a more affordable wand or should I just stick with my wand till I get the Tuning Fork?
