A crucial problem new players often face in Subnautica 2 is how to get more oxygen.
In this guide, we've got you covered with how to get better air tanks.
There are currently 2 accessible air tanks:
The Standard Air Tank
The High Capacity Air Tank
We will talk about both individually on how to get them.
How to Get the Standard Air Tank
Your starting oxygen supply of 45 seconds is extremely limiting and leaves very little room for mistakes while exploring caves.
The upgraded tank provides an additional 30 seconds of oxygen, allowing for much safer and deeper exploration.
To craft the tank, you need:
Titanium x2
Rubber x1
Silver x2
Titanium is found on the ocean floor and in caves, Silver is crafter in specific caves. One of them is found north of the spawn area below a huge coral structure, the cave looks like this:
Rubber is crafted using:
Lucifer Rotsac x2
They look like this:
How to get the High Capacity Air Tank
To get the High Capacity Air Tank, you will need to put in a bit more effort.
There are a few things you need to take care of first:
Unlock the Sonic Resonator
Build a base with a Full Fabricator
Craft the Standard Air Tank
After completing these steps, you must first acquire the Recipe Data for the High Capacity Air Tank.
To find it, head to a deeper area south-west of the Lifepod, where you can discover a Colony Ruin.
It is highly recommended to bring:
Air Bladders
A Wavemaker
These will make the exploration much easier.
While exploring the south-western area, you will eventually come across a wreck hanging over the edge of a cliff. Directly ahead of it, you will find the Colony Ruin.
Inside the ruin, the Recipe Data can be found on a desk.
Now that you have unlocked the recipe, here's how you craft the tank:
Titanium x2
Lithium x1
We already mentioned Titanium earlier, but where can you find Lithium?
You can find Lithium around the Tadpole Pens, located roughly 300 meters east of your spawn point.
