Pets Guide: Task Bar Hero (TBH)

Pets are a key part of early progression in Task Bar Hero, offering persistent bonuses that will benefit you along the way, and forever into the future.

Pets are unlockable creatures that provide passive bonuses during gameplay. They don't have any impact on your combat abilities, but they will make it faster to progress.

In order to unlock each Pet, you'll need to repeatedly farm certain stages and defeat 5000 of the corresponding enemy. The Difficulty tier doesn't matter, and your progress continues across each one.

Here's some of the abilities you can expect.

• Increased Common Chest Drop Chance Multiplier
• Increased Stage Boss Drop Chance Multiplier
• Increased Gold Per Kill
• Increased Exp Gain

As you can see, every bonus makes farming just a little bit easier, and since they are permanent effects, you'll want to unlock them as soon as possible.

Additionally, no matter which Pet you decide to deploy, you will still receive the benefits of them all. So feel free to pick your favorite, or mix it up to match your mood.

Bat

• Abilities: 10% Increased Common Chest Drop Chance Multiplier, 15% Increased Exp Gain
• Unlock Requirement: Defeat 5000x Bat
• Recommended Farming Stage: [1-7] City Outskirts

Watcher

• Abilities: 15% Increased Gold Per Kill
• Unlock Requirement: Defeat 5000x Giant Fly
• Recommended Farming Stage: [2-5] Scorching Dunes

Burning Skeleton

• Abilities: 10% Increased Stage Boss Chest Drop Chance Multiplier
• Unlock Requirement: Defeat 5000x Fire Elemental
• Recommended Farming Stage: [2-8] Sacred Tomb

Blue Golem

• Abilities: 15% Increased Common Chest Drop Chance Multiplier
• Unlock Requirement: Defeat 5000x Hell Golem
• Recommended Farming Stage: [3-6] Burning Ravine

Dark Spirit

• Abilities: 15% Increased Stage Boss Chest Drop Chance Multiplier
• Unlock Requirement: Defeat 5000x Ghost
• Recommended Farming Stage: [3-4] Frozen Glacier Cavern

Sword

• Abilities: 15% Increased Exp Gain
• Unlock Requirement: Purchase the Supporter Pack (DLC)

Butterfly

• Abilities: 10% Increased Gold Per Kill
• Unlock Requirement: Purchase the Supporter Pack (DLC)

Dragon

• Abilities: 20% Increased Common Chest Drop Chance Multiplier, 15% Increased Gold Per Kill, 20% Increased Exp Gain
• Unlock Requirement: Purchase the Supporter Pack (DLC)

Among the bonuses offered, the Stage Boss Multiplier is definitely the most useful, and neither of the three DLC Pets offer that. However, if you really want to optimize your early progression, they will allow you to get more Gold and Exp.

In the end game once more Runes are unlocked, the added bonuses are pretty negligible, so if you're already at that point it won't really matter. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide.

Although if you can sell a few things on the market, you could essentially get them for free!

• Once you hit a road block, that's often a good time to go back and farm on a Pet stage. Feel free to sit there for a while, and you'll soon notice the 5000 comes relatively quick.
  
• For the most part, we recommend unlocking each Pet in the order you come across their farming stages. The one exception would be the Burning Skeleton, as 2-8 is one of the game's first clear difficulty spikes. If you're struggling here, consider returning later.
