S-Tier (Meta)
The
M4
Han 86,
VEL 46, and
ISO Nightshade stand out as our strongest overall weapons. These assault rifles and SMGs combine fast TTK with high accuracy, manageable recoil, and responsive handling, making them excellent choices across all multiplayer maps and modes.
The
M4 is one of the most reliable and versatile weapons in MW4, and can be kitted to excel in either close to medium, or medium to long ranges. In comparison, the
Han 86 may have a higher theoretical ceiling, but require more work and intentional recoil control versus the M4's more forgiving and easy handling.
At the moment, choosing between
VEL 46 and
ISO Nightshade comes down primarily to personal preference. The
VEL 46 does have slightly faster close-range TTK and a forgiving 40-round magazine, while the
ISO Nightshade's superior ranged damage makes it more of a well-rounded SMG.
What separates these weapons from the competition is their consistency and versatility. While other guns may offer faster kills in niche situations, our S-tier weapons are showing to reliably win gunfights without requiring extreme recoil control, pre-firing, or a highly specialized playstyle. They're also relatively forgiving and easy to use, making them a great pick for players of all skill levels.
A-Tier (High Tier)
A-tier weapons include strong and competing alternative rifles and SMGs, as well as introducing the rest of the weapon classes. Each of these can outperform the meta weapons in specific situations where their niche shines, such as tight corridors for the
Rezi 12 or locking down a long sightline with the
APOC-338. Generally, these don't have the same consistency or adaptability of the S-tier weapons that enable them to excel on virtually every map and in every game mode.
B-Tier (Mid Tier)
B-tier weapons remain perfectly viable but generally have more noticeable drawbacks that hinder them from being strong across all scenarios. Most of these guns perform a very similar function to a weapon ranked in a higher tier, but those weapons simply perform that function better. However, with practice and comfortability, players who take advantage of the strengths of these weapons can still find plenty of success with them.
C-Tier (Low Tier)
Our C-tier weapons have the most significant disadvantages compared to the rest of the primary weapon roster. Weapons like the
Wz.55 Striga struggle to contest the meta SMGs due to its pre-fire delay and higher gun kick. Although the
Astaroth .57 can hit one-shot to the lower body at long ranges, for standard multiplayer modes it feels too sluggish and you'll rarely find map areas to take full advantage of its superior range.
Keep in mind that low tier doesn't mean these weapons are unusable. If you enjoy these weapons and picking them gives you the drive to grind or their feel is a perfect match to your playstyle, definitely don't shy away from throwing them in your loadout!
