Quematrice is a new Bird Wyvern in Monster Hunter Wilds. It spins its tail around, creating fire from the friction. Quematrice also uses its beak and body to attack.

Quematrice can be first found at the Windward Plains and then later at the Ruins of Wyveria.

Quematrice uses both physical and fire attacks, so Hunters should not have difficulty preparing for this hunt. Boost your Fire Resistance if needed.

You may want to bring weapons that can sever Quematrice’s tail, as it will diminish its reach and attack power.

360 Ignite spin

A signature move that hits very hard and covers a big area. Quematrice spreads sparks then ignites it all with the swipe of its tail. Keeping your distance from this attack will show an opening after it is used.

Ignite Tail Whip

Raises its head in a chicken-like fashion to then run up to a Hunter to spread sparks in front. A follow-up tail whip will occur to ignite the sparks. This move closes distance but can be easily evaded.

Tail Slam

A very simple but fast move of slamming its fat tail down to the ground. Will use this move if being attacked from behind.

Spread and Ignite

A quick move that spreads sparks in front to then ignite it with a flick of its tail. The flying sparks are an indicator to try and dodge before the ignition occurs.

Lunging Bite

Telegraphed by raising its head in a chicken-like fashion to then bite in front of it. Meant to close distance but can be easily evaded.

Quematrice’s tail is the most important body part to focus, as it is a weak spot and can be severed. Be careful when aiming for it though, as most of its attacks are tail sweeps or tail slams.

Its head is easily accessible, too, so Blunt weapons should have an easy time K.O.’ing Quematrice.

Quematrice has turf wars with monsters like Arkveld, Rathian, and Rathalos.

Quematrice armor does not have any set bonuses.
