Build Overview and Variants

Rapid Regeneration & Max DPS for Comfortable Farming

This build takes full advantage of the new Zoh Shia's Pulse set bonus to rapidly regenerate from any damage received using Recovery Speed & Recovery Up to become an unkillable god, while still using the Frenzy given by Gore Magala's Tyranny to maximize DPS, bringing you the greatest mix of both a comfortable tanky reliable build, and a high dps speed farmer.

How To Play

Gear Choices


For our Chrono Gear Artian weapon we want 6 or 7 Raw Attack Lines and 1-2 Sharpness Lines and Paralysis for extra CC potential or Blast for Slightly more DPS. Endgame fights have gotten alot longer thanks to the Title Update, so we're going to be using Rzr Sharp/Handicraft Jwl to help maintain White Sharpness, as Charge Blade burns sharpness extremely quickly and we need to stay out of the blue. Quickswitch/Handicraft Jwl gives us Load Shells 2/2 which is a necessary improvement to our ability to stack phials, allowing us to store full sets of overcharged phials with just one red charge each time. The Critical Jewel III gets us Critical Boost 3/5 raising our Critical Damage from 25% - 34%, a large increase in damage considering the high Affinity we reach with this build.

Mending Mantle is the new choice for this build as it makes us basically immortal for 90 seconds while it's on comboing with our Zoh Shia's Pulse Recovery Speed & Recovery Up. Rocksteady Mantle is also a great choice instead allowing you to power through monster attacks with Super Armor while you rapidly regenerate through the damage for some great uptime with Savage Axe. Corrupted Mantle was nerfed from 30% Affinity to 10%, 20 Raw Attack to 10, and the duration was cut from 120 seconds to 90 seconds, so I no longer recommend it over the other two options.

Numinous Crown α socketed with a Challenger Jewel gets us 2/5 Agitator right off the bat, as well as a level 2 socket we spend on a Mighty Jewel for 1/3 Maximum Might, and 2/3 Recovery Speed. Giving us a huge chunk of additional Attack, Affinity, and healing.

Numinous Shroud β completes our Zoh Shia's Pulse allowing us to regenerate even without red health extremely fast back up to maximum life, meaning outside of using Max Potion or Ancient Potion there is no more reason or need to back off and heal yourself leading to much greater uptime attacking for the majority of players. This piece also gets us 4/5 Agitator by socketing a Challenger Jewel.

G. Arkveld Vambraces β provides us some substantial value with it's 2/5 Weakness Exploit & 3 level 1 sockets we use to max out Recovery Speed with a Recovery Jewel and get 2/3 Recovery Up with two Medicine Jewel for huge healing capability.

Gore Coil β is necessary to active Gore Magala's Tyranny for Frenzy, providing 2/5 Constitution taking the edge off our stamina consumption, as well as a socket that we get 3/5 Weakness Exploit with by socketing a Tenderizer Jewel, and 2/3 Maximum Might with a Mighty Jewel.

Gore Greaves β get us our set bonus, a level of Flinch Free to help us stay upright in co-op should someone not be using Shock Absorber 3/3 Antivirus thanks to our socketed two Sane Jewel and our one point wonder 1/5 Burst with a Chain Jewel, this gives us Frenzy, 25% Affinity when Frenzy is cleansed, and 8 Raw Attack while Burst is active, which is all the time.

Exploiter Charm II finishes off our 5/5 Weakness Exploit, a necessary increase in Affinity.

In total you get Rapid Regeneration that allows you to keep fighting in all situations you are not outright one shot, +28 Raw Attack Power and 95% Affinity with 34% Critical Damage for some Nasty DPS ontop of your absurd survivability.

Consumables

The best meal for this build is Meat + Turbid Shrimp and Eastern Honey
Meta gives +2 Attack, the Shrimp give Tumbler Meal (Hi) for extra iframes on our dodge while in Savage Axe mode, something with very high value as we have no Evade Window levels. and Eastern Honey gives us Medic Meal for even more Health Recovery.

Make regular use of Mega Demondrug & Mega Armorskin, which grant you +7 Attack and +25 Defense for 30 Minutes.
You can pop these when you eat your meal while equipped with 3/3 Item Prolonger to make them last 45 minutes instead, saving you materials.
You can also pop Might Pill for +20 Raw Attack for 20 seconds in your opener.
If you want to go nuts Might Seed & Demon Powder also give 10 Raw Attack each for 3 minutes.

Carry Shock and Pitfall traps as well as a tranquilizer consumable to utilize when you hear the call out informing you the monster is getting weak or when you see a skull icon on the monster on the minimap indicating it can be captured ending the hunt quicker then slaying it.

Rotation & Combat Flow

When playing for Savage Axe after charging your shield you absolutely want to overcharge your phials as that overcharge damage is going to be utilized for the next several minutes. Next we need to get into Savage Axe Mode, if at any point during the building phase you perfect guard and enter it through a counter attack that's great, but if that hasn't happened by the time you have overcharged phials and a shield infusion, you're either going to fish for a perfect guard to counter off, Look to perform a mount on the monster assuming it's off cooldown, or attempt to cause a wound so you can Double Rend to enter Savage Axe. The act of actually getting into Savage Axe can vary in the amount of time required, If you're sitting on overcharged phials for an awkwardly long period of time, attempting to cause a wound to rend with elemental discharges or SAEDs can be a good way to fill the gap. Wounds get harder to cause the longer the fight goes on, So you'll want to practice your perfect guard timing as a reliable method with no diminishing returns.

Once you get into Savage Axe Mode, You'll want to spend as much time as possible shredding with Held elemental discharge 1 and 2, after your second discharge you can either continue the combo with a Standard Attack in Axe Mode which you can also choose to hold down then loop back to discharges, or if you have the opening begin spending your phials half of one at a time by activating AEDs after your discharge 2 with a further held heavy attack as well as the proceeding follow-up, as these will deal extremely high damage in exchange for that half a phial. Axe mode in general I find much more user friendly when played almost entirely in focus mode, as the attacks are quite slow and are typically better when aimed manually.

Stay Mobile with your Sword Mode Focus attack and Heavy Attack Dash, Don't over commit with your axe and try to read the situation for when you need to go on the defensive with Sword Mode before it's to late.
