TU3.5: Endgame Gunlance Meta & Progression

Changes in TU3.5

We use 4 pieces of AT Nu Udra armor to stack as many raw-boosting skills as possible: Agitator, Burst, Guts (Tenacity), Resentment, Counterstrike, Maximum Might, and Bad Blood II.

Playing around the Skills is essential to unlock the true potential of the build; Rocksteady Mantle helps synergize with Resentment, Counterstrike and Bad Blood II.

Offensive Skill choices

Gunlance's damage comes mostly from its shells, which limit the amount of usable skills. Burst Boost I and Guts (Tenacity) are great set skills to boost raw damage, and so are Agitatorand Counterstrike.

Earplugs is a nice added bonus as it allows you to perform high-commitment moves during monster roars.

Weapons

The Gunlance buffs throughout the updates have made the Artian Gunlance dethrone the previous best options, Blazing Lael and G. Lawful Bors.

Fire and Ice Artians have Slightly Strong shells, making them the best general-purpose option. Elemental damage is a nice added bonus on top, so bring both and switch elements depending on the hunt target.

Weapon Decorations

Artillery, Load Shells, and Offensive Guard are a must-have with Gunlance. You can swap the Offensive Guard + Elem Attack decoration for an Offensive Guard + Handicraft deco (Guardian/Handicraft Jwl) if you prefer it.
