Shen·Jungle Counters

Shen can start ganking as soon as he hits level 3. Pre-level 6, make sure you place vision around his jungle entrances to reduce his ability to get ganks off.

Whenever Shen uses his Ultimate R on an ally, if he doesn’t use it near you, you should use this time to either gank another lane, invade his jungle or to take a major objective.

If you want to invade Shen in the early game, wait for him to use any of his abilities or wait for him to run low on energy prior to fighting him to make it harder for him to escape or trade back with you.

When there are no team fights occurring and when Shen’s Ultimate R is up, you’ll find him split pushing. Make sure there is someone who can match him in the lane with him so he is unable to split push for free.

Take care as Shen has good ambush potential in the mid-game thanks to his E. Do not go to ward/ walk in unwarded parts of the map if you know Shen has been nearby as it may result in your death.

Forcing team fights when Shen is unable to impact them (such as when his Ultimate R is down) will help your team come out ahead. Force a fight once his Ultimate R is down.

Shen gains global map pressure when he unlocks his Ultimate R. Track it and play accordingly as he may influence a gank or fight in a lane once it’s up.

His ganks post level 3 are quite good when he has unlocked his taunt E.

Shen’s pick potential in the mid-game can be quite devastating to play against. Avoid getting picked off or letting him Flash E on to anyone.
