Build Overview

Ygnium's Aspect of Moros boasts some of the highest damage numbers of any Aspect in its base form, before adding on any Boons.

The first thing you want to look for when doing an Aspect of Moros run is you'll want a high damage % Attack Boon, such as Flutter Strike or Sworn Strike. Next up, try to get a high damage Special Boon that inflicts a curse. The final main component will be a good magic Boon that synergizes well with Morris's High magic demand.

These Core Boons lay the foundation of your build. For everything else, there are going to be a lot of good options we'll discuss below.

  • At the Bottom of this guide, you can find my Victory Screen for clearing 65 Fear on both the Surface and Underworld (All Vows max + Vow of Void 3). The YouTube Video is of that run. Spoilers if you haven't seen the Vow of Rivals fights.

Since we'll be starting with Iridescent Fan, you should have no trouble getting Sworn Strike. When selecting the rest of your Core Boons, Heaven Flourish would be worth rerolling for if you're offered Zeus Boons.

Otherwise any Special Boon will be acceptable here, other than I'd recommend avoiding Volcanic Flourish and Nova Flourish.

Because the Omega Specials hit with decent frequency, even Flame Flourish and Wave Flourish can work well here. In which case, you should try for the respective tier 2 Boon, Pyro Technique or Slippery Slope.

General Tips and Tricks

Combat Loop

The standard combat loop you'll stick to 99% of the time is to channel an Omega Special, then hold Attack, Dash around, and drop Cast until the Special flames expire. At which point, you would Channel the Omega Special and repeat.

Zero Magick Combat Loop

Magickless Combat Loop. Shoot out a few Attacks, then walk/Dash forward to explode them with your Special.

As seen in the first video, the Aspect of Moros Specials do not inflict hit stun. Therefore, when you're out of Magick, it's generally better to walk into range, tap Special, and dash away as the Attacks explode. Only Dash in when it is specifically dodging an enemy attack.

Cast Usage

While you are holding Attack or channeling Omega Attacks, you can drop you Cast without interrupting. See in the first clip, the Cast was dropping while channeling the Omega Attacks.

As you while endlessly channeling Omega Moves, it is crucial to use your Cast to control the positioning of foes.

Notice how the foe from Oceanus was chasing me around the left side of the map. He would be attacking me from behind as I'm trying to attack those in front of me, but as soon as he walks into the Cast, he's ensared and I'm safe to push forward. Then when ready, I turn around and focus him.

Starting Loadout

Arcana

Overall I recommend sticking to the standard Arcana Loadout. However, for Aspect of Moros, both The Huntress (III) and Night (X) are going to add a good amount of extra Damage. The exploding standard Attacks benefit from The Huntress (III), while the orbiting Specials and every first Omega Attack gain Crit chance from Night (X).

The speed boost and invulnerability of The Messenger (VIII) is especially noticeable with the Flames. When your Dash is on cooldown, use your Cast as a get out of jail move. Additionally, since you won't be Sprinting around much, you'll want to focus on using your Cast to control enemy positioning.

  • Special Note: When using Eternity (IV), only the Omega Specials gain the time slow, as the Omega Attacks have no effect. Consequently, I wouldn't recommend wasting 3 Grasp on it. However, if you are finding it difficult to safely channel the Omega Specials, its not the worst option.

Hecuba

The Aspect of Moros is extremely Magick Hungry. The entire run you'll be non-stop spamming Omega Moves, so Hecuba is the natural choice for your Animal Familiar.

Keepsakes

Iridescent Fan is the only vital Keepsake for this build. Not only do we want to start with Sworn Strike, but later in the run we are hoping for Born Gain, Fine Line and even Extended Family if we get a lot of Hera Boons.

Selene's Moon Beam is going to get a lot of use here because you should be charging your Hex super fast. Assuming you've already been offered a Hex at this point, you can quickly upgrade to a Bright, Sublime, or Godsent.

If you end up with Omega Boons like Fine Line, Weed Killer, or Ocean Swell, you may find yourself running out of Magick. When this happens you can use Silver Wheel for a huge boost of max Magick. Otherwise you can sub in any preferred Keepsake, whether that is an Olympian, or something fun like Experimental Hammer.

God Boons

God Pool

We've already covered why we are targeting Hera, but lets talk about the rest of the Olympians.

  • Zeus

Heaven Flourish is going to be your best choice for max damage. The orbiting Specials ensure you'll maintain a high uptime for Blitz, and the exploding Attacks will instantly trigger the effect.

Static Shock is alway great because of how quickly your striking foes. Every foe hit in a circle around you sends out Chain-lighting, plus every Attack does so as well. Together with Hitch, you'll be breezing through standard encounters.

  • Ares

When not offered Born Gain, Grisly Gain is another good option to take. You'll be generating plenty of plasma, and get the added benefit of increased move and strike speed!

For similar reasons, Vicious Flourish is not a bad option either. Wounds is admittedly not very effective here, but unlocking Grievous Blow will maximize damage potential from your primary sources like the Omega Attack and Fine Line.

  • Poseidon

Tidal Ring would be the best Cast to get for this build. You'll add tons of Froth damage, and the possibility for Killer Current. Additionally, if you managed to get either Fine Line or Ocean Swell, Ripple Effect goes hard.

Variations

For my personal runs at 65 Fear, the builds look a bit different becuase Vow of Void means you only get 6 Arcana Grasp and can't start with Fate rerolls from The Champions (XXII), The Enchantress (XVI) & The Fates (XXI). Therefore, Jeweled Pom is the ideal starting Keepsake.

If you are going to start with JPom, or don't have rerolls yet, here's the basic building blocks for Aspect of Moros:

  • % Damage on Attack is best: Sworn Strike, Nova Strike, Flutter Strike, etc
  • Special base Power is low, so on-hit effects are best: Heaven Flourish, Flame Flourish, Wave Flourish. Or Any Special slot with a curse you want to spread quickly thanks to the wide orbit of Omega Specials.
  • Rush Boon: You never really Sprint, so Dash Boons can find value but are very low priority.
  • Gain: AVOID Tough Gain & Glamour Gain. Literally any other Gain Boon can work with Aspect of Moros.

65 Fear Clears Below

Under Victory Screens and the linked YT video, you can find my gameplay of Aspect of Moros at 65 Fear.

Couple unique things to point out about the UW clear:

  • Grisly Gain ended up being super important in both the Cerberus and Chronos for move speed buff. As mentioned in the above commentary, it's a great alternative Gain Boon for Aspect of Moros.
  • Hitch from Hera, (Sworn Strike recommended in build, but Sworn Flourish is a good alternative for its AoE).

Couple unique things to point out about the Surface clear:

  • That build was actually Cracked. Wolf Howl with the Armor upgrade is super OP with Aspect of Moros. Also had a great foundation with Heaven Flourish and Nova Strike.

Upgrades and Support

Hammers

There are multiple Good Hammers for Aspect of Moros. I'm just gonna list a few of my favorites here in order of priority:

  1. Sudden Burst
  2. Furious Blaze
  3. Clean Coil
  4. Hidden Helix
  5. Enduring Coil

NPC Offerings

From Artemis anything that grants Crit damage is great. Since you'll be dashing and Omega frequently, Shadow Pounce is best, but Support Fire, Vital Sign, and similar are also good.

On Olympus, or when using Gorgon Amulet, Athena's Divine Dash and Righteous Pike are incredible options depending on if you want the extra defense or offense.

  • Hermes

From Hermes, you can't go wrong with Racing Thoughts for increased Omega Channel speed, or Stutter Step for more frequent Dashes.
