Character Profile

Yumemizuki Mizuki is a Standard 5 star Anemo unit, having recently received Witch’s Revelation buffs that are going fully online in patch 7.0. Mizuki has become a Stellar Swirl on-field DPS, dealing significant Stellar Swirl damage through her new passives. She also increases the Stellar Swirl damage her teammates deal while in her off-field state and their Elemental Mastery, making her an excellent teammate for a unit like Odette or the new Cryo Traveler. Both of those buffs and her own damage scale with her Elemental Mastery, making it a uniquely valuable stat for her. While in her on-field state, Mizuki is also able to heal her teamwithout any real drawbacks, making her a fairly safe on-field choice.

A fairly non-dynamic character, Mizuki is very easy to play and control. She floats about, triggers Swirls and deals damage to enemies around her. She has limited AoE capacity due to her targeting and range, but her single-target damage is fairly high, particularly with a couple of Constellations. As a Standard unit, Mizuki’s Constellations can be acquired through the Standard Banner, losing 50/50s on the Limited banner, or even Anniversary selectors. She has also been added to the ‘Temper Thyself and Journey Far’ event, making her Constellations even easier to acquire. She becomes particularly powerful at C2, and has overall decent vertical investment.

Best Teams

Stellar Swirl

Yumemizuki Mizuki + Odette + 2 of:

Traveler (Cryo) / Sucrose / Faruzan / Qiqi / Diona

  • Mizuki’s more or less singular team. CMC will typically be the strongest option for damage if they’re not needed elsewhere, both through being a significant contributor to Stellar Swirl Reactions and their exceptional personal Sub-DPS. Mizuki’s field time is short enough to not run into any rotational issues with CMC’s relatively long field time, making them a strong pairing.
  • Qiqi and Diona are solid good alternatives, particularly when Mizuki is at C2 or higher, as they will buff Mizuki more than CMC. Note that Mizuki does not activate the Stellar Swirl reaction on her own, and thus requires a different unit that does in her teams.
  • Sucrose and Faruzan are considerably close, with Faruzan being able to edge out with certain rotations, but scaling worse with more vertical investment. Sucrose is as good as always, especially as she is able to maintain full uptime on her buffs in this team.
  • If you aren't able to get Odette, her best replacement is one of the other listed units.

Example Rotation:

( Traveler (Cryo) Skill + Sucrose N1 + Skill or Burst on first rotation)

  1. Odette Skill + Enhanced Skill
  2. Sucrose N1 + Skill or Burst
  3. Yumemizuki Mizuki Skill ( + Burst whenever up)
  4. Sucrose N1 + Skill or Burst
  5. Traveler (Cryo) Skill + Enhanced CA + Burst

Best Weapons

BiS: Sunny Morning Sleep-In

Mizuki’s Signature Weapon is a massive EM stat stick. EM is particularly valuable for Mizuki, as she has four sources of scaling with it: her Talent damage, her Stellar DMG Bonus that EM converts to, and her Skill passive’s additional Stellar Swirl DMG Bonus and Elemental Mastery for her teammates. The best choice for her personal damage, and so the best of her options for team damage.

Limited 5 star alternatives:

A Thousand Floating Dreams

Nahida’s Signature is another strong EM stick that will also provide teammates with a mild EM buff. Not a particularly noteworthy team DPS increase compared to other strong 5 star options, but the buff provides value other weapons typically don’t.

Reliquary of Truth

Nefer’s Signature is the best Crit stick available to Mizuki, and a solid alternative to her own Signature. She cannot access any part of the passive besides the Crit Rate and EM on Skill cast, but she maintains full uptime on the latter, making it quite good. Other Crit 5 star sticks will be about as good or a little worse than this.

Best 4 star options

Dawning Frost

Solid option, particularly at high refines, but difficult to acquire it. A weapon banner only weapon that has only ran alongside on Reliquary of Truth banners. Strong if you have it and typically better than The Widsith.

The Widsith

Usually the strongest 4 star option available to her, even though only 1 part of the passive is strong for Mizuki. Uptime on it is expectedly low, but the Crit secondary stat makes it strong regardless. Not significantly better than other options, especially SacFrags.

Sacrificial Fragments

The extra EM alone makes this worth using, and she will typically not really make use of the Skill cooldown reset passive. It is possible, but usually unnecessary.

Best Artifacts & Stats

Scarlet Proof

The new dedicated Stellar Swirl on-fielder set, typically Mizuki’s best option but not by as much as one would expect. The passive is quite strong, but Mizuki benefits far less from Stellar DMG Bonus than Elemental Mastery. Not notably stronger than 2p2p EM or Gilded Dreams, but could be worth farming regardless. The 2pc is ATK%, making it useless for her and lowering its value.

Viridescent Venerer

Similarly strong to the other options due to the Shred it gives to Cryo, but notably, Mizuki’s SSW damage is not Cryo. The only part of this set her own damage makes use of is the 20% Stellar Swirl DMG Bonus, making it mediocre. It will, however, let Sucrose hold Instructor instead of VV. That alone makes it competitive with other options.

Gilded Dreams / 2p2p Elemental Mastery

Strikingly good alternatives to the above 4 piece sets. If you don’t already have a set, it may be worth acquiring pieces through the Strongbox, but not directly spending resin on them.

Talent Priority

  1. Elemental Skill
  2. Elemental Burst

Neither of the above increases her damage significantly. Her Elemental Skill talent only affects the Stellar Swirl DMG Bonus during her Dreamdrifter State, and her Elemental Burst only her healing.

Constellations

C1In Mist-Like Waters
C2Your Echo I Meet in Dreams
C3Till Dawn's Moon Ends Night
C4Buds Warm Lucid Springs
C5As Setting Moon Brings Year's End
C6The Heart Lingers Long

C1: A strong Constellation 1 that significantly increases Mizuki’s personal damage. Without it, Mizuki is fairly mediocre. WIth it, she becomes one of the strongest Anemo on-fielders in the game. The additional damage procs passively whenever a Reaction is triggered through Anemo damage, which is how Mizuki procs her passive regardless.

C2: The strongest component of this C2 is the Anemo RES Shred. It is difficult to come by it outside of exclusively Faruzan or Odette Constellations, which would make it a bit worse. The Cryo RES Shred is still useful despite its relative abundance. Another great Constellation, comparable to C1 in value and team DPS.

C3: Skill Talent levels do not affect her personal damage in any meaningful way. They only affect the DMG Bonus she grants to her teammates, which is not significant enough to be noteworthy.

C4: Mizuki’s Burst is fairly worth using due to its mechanical interactions, but Mizuki won’t build Energy for it usually. This Constellation will make it much easier to get it up, making it alright. Doesn’t matter enough to make it good.

C5: Negligible.

C6: Stellar Swirls can already Crit, making that part of the passive useless. However, the extra Crit to teammate Stellar Swirl damage and the massive increase to her own Crit stats make it a massive Constellation for her personal damage. She will be able to cap the passives very easily. This Constellation grants her 30% Crit Rate and 100% Crit Damage, which should comfortably be an at least 35% personal DPS increase.

How to Play

Overview

Mizuki is an Anemo Stellar Swirl on-field DPS. She is able to deal Stellar Swirl damage through her Enhanced Skill state, which has a duration of about 10 seconds in total. During those 10 seconds, she will perform a few instances of massive Stellar Swirl Talent damage that scales on her Elemental Mastery and buff teammate Elemental Mastery and Stellar Swirl DMG, also based on her EM. She is able to freely use her Elemental Burst during this state, and while it will not pause its duration, it will not pause its effects either.

Elemental Skill, Dreamdrifter State, Ascension 1

On Skill cast, Mizuki will enter the Dreamdrifter State and start floating about, being able to move freely. While floating, Mizuki will target nearby enemies and deal AoE Anemo damage to them, though the range of said AoE is not awe-inspiring. While in the Dreamdrifter state, teammate’s Swirl and Stellar Swirl DMG will increase by an amount proportional to her EM, with no cap. This DMG Bonus can be significant, as Mizuki’s EM will be very high, frequently over 45%.

The baseline duration of this state is 5 seconds, but through her Ascension 1 Passive, she is able to extend it by an extra 5 seconds. When she triggers a Swirl or Stellar Swirl reaction, the duration of Dreamdrifter will increase by 2.5 seconds. This effect has a 0.3 second cooldown, which doesn’t really matter. Mizuki will always trigger Stellar Swirls, so her Skill will always last the full 10 seconds. During those 10 seconds, Mizuki will perform up to 13 Anemo damage instances. Most of these will apply Anemo and thus trigger Stellar Swirls.

This Skill has a cooldown of 15 seconds, making Mizuki’s rotations quite short if she wants them to be. Mizuki will generate 1 Anemo Particle whenever she hits an enemy, and this can trigger up to 4 times per Dreamdrifter State for a total of 4 Anemo Particles.

Elemental Burst

Mizuki’s Elemental Burst is how she accesses her healing, but it also grants additional Anemo application. On cast, she will deal a little bit of AoE Anemo DMG and generate a Mini Baku. This Mini Baku will follow the active character and generate ‘snacks’ for them to pick up. When they’re picked up, the snacks will check for the HP percentage of who picked them up.

  • If it’s higher than 70%, they will not heal them and instead explode, dealing AoE Anemo DMG.
  • If it’s lower than 70%, they will heal them and not deal any damage. This healing is increased if Mizuki picks the snack up.
  • If not picked up within 4 seconds, they will explode and deal AoE Anemo DMG.

One snack is created every 1.5 seconds, for a total of 8 during the Burst’s 12 second duration.

Stellar Swirl Passive

If Mizuki triggers a Swirl reaction while in Dreamdrifter, through any source, her next Dreamdrifter Anemo DMG instance will be increased by a massive amount, based on her Elemental Mastery. If this happens while under Radiance: Stellar Swirl, Mizuki will launch an additional attack with significant scaling, also on her Elemental Mastery, that deals Stellar Swirl damage. On top of providing Stellar Swirl DMG Bonus, she will also buff teammates’ Elemental Mastery by 10% of her own. These additional hits have a 2.5s cooldown, and Mizuki will typically be looking at 3-4 per rotation.

Additional Info

Stellar Swirl

When a unit that activates Stellar Swirl is in the team (currently Odette, Cryo Traveler, Sandrone), if a Cryo Swirl is triggered it will instead become a Stellar Swirl. This will deal AoE damage similar to a regular Swirl, but its damage will instead be based on the Crit, EM, and Stellar DMG Bonus of all characters that participated in the reaction. This is also how Lunar-Charged and Lunar Crystallize function.

Additionally, it will spawn a Stellar Vortex. The Stellar Vortex will explode after 3 seconds and deal Cryo DMG to opponents within its AoE, similarly based on the stats of the participating characters. If more Stellar Swirls are triggered within those 3 seconds, the Vortex will begin leveling up. If 3 or more Stellar Swirls are triggered, its damage will be significantly increased. If 6 Stellar Swirls are triggered it will explode instantly, though this rare and usually not worth pursuing.

Within 8 seconds of triggering a Stellar Swirl reaction, nearby characters will be under Radiance: Stellar Swirl. This is what activates the Stellar parts of most Stellar kits.

Ping Interactions

The additional Stellar Swirl hits both of her passive and her C1have an odd interaction with ping. At sufficiently high ping, Mizuki will start losing out on them. She can go from as many 4 to 1, and in very rare cases, she can get 0.
