Overview
Wriothesley is an on-field main DPS focused around the Enhanced State he accesses through his Elemental Skill. While in this state, his Normal Attacks will drain a certain amount of his HP. After Wriothesley drops below a certain HP threshold, he will gain access to an Enhanced Charged Attack, which will deal increased damage and heal him. His field time at C0 is relatively short, but gets relatively longer at C1. He generally opts to not use his Elemental Burst.
After his Witch’s Revelation buffs, Wriothesley should primarily be considered a Stellar-Conduct on-field DPS, as he is much stronger in that role than the previous archetypes of Melt and Freeze he found his place in.
Stellar-Conduct
Stellar-Conduct is the Stellar Reaction corresponding to Superconduct; Superconduct is the reaction that triggers when you apply Cryo to an Electro Aura or vice versa. Superconduct at a baseline deals a little bit of EM scaling damage and reduces the Physical RES of enemies hit by it. Stellar-Conduct instead deals no damage, but will spawn a zone around the enemy on which the reaction was triggered called a ‘Polestar Field’. Currently Sandrone is the only character in the game that can enable Stellar-Conduct, though this is exceptionally likely to change as we get more Stellar Lynchpin characters in Snezhnaya.
- The Polestar Field has a base duration of 6 seconds, and enemies within it have their Physical RES reduced, which is unimportant to current Stellar-Conduct teams. If Stellar-Conduct is triggered again while the Polestar Field is active, its duration will be refreshed. Characters focused around the Stellar-Conduct reaction will also enter the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state within a Polestar Field, including Wriothesley.
- In intervals of 4 seconds, the Polestar Field will record all Cryo and Electro Elemental Application within it. At the end of each 4 second recording phase, it will grant a buff that grants Electro and Cryo DMG% alongside directly multiplying all Stellar-Conduct damage dealt within in. The value of this buff will scale with the amount of Cryo and Electro applications recorded within each recording phase.
- When a recording phase ends, a new one begins immediately. It will also replace the previous stack value with the new stack value. This buff has a base duration of 5 seconds, but since the recording phases refresh every 4 seconds, it will also refresh every 4 seconds (assuming a full uptime Polestar Field)

Elemental Skill & Chilling Penalty State
Wriothesley’s Elemental Skill enters him into the Chilling Penalty state. The Chilling Penalty state modifies his Normal Attacks to deal more damage. This damage is based on the talent values of his Normal Attack talent, but the extra damage is based on the level of his Elemental Skill talent.
Additionally, when Wriothesley hits an enemy with a Normal Attack, he will decrease his HP by a fixed percentage of his Max HP. With his Ascension 4 passive, he will also gain ATK% upon doing this.
While in this state, through his Ascension 1 passive, whenever Wriothesley drops below 60% HP he will gain access to an Enhanced Charged Attack. This Enhanced CA will deal significantly more damage and also heal him by 30% of his Max HP. This effect has a cooldown of 5 seconds without Radiance: Stellar-Conduct.
During Radiance, through his Witch’s Revelation Passive, the effect of his Ascension 1 is changed to no longer have a 5 second cooldown on the Enhanced damage at all, though the healing will have a 2 second cooldown. This does mean that if Wriothesley is able to do a Charged Attack and drop his HP back below 60% again immediately, he will be able to perform more Enhanced CAs.
Alongside the above change to his Ascension 1, Wriothesley’s Normal Attack 3 and Normal Attack 5 are changed to deal a significant chunk of Stellar-Conduct DMG instead of regular Cryo DMG. His Enhanced CA is also changed to deal Stellar-Conduct DMG, and Wriothesley gains 30% Stellar DMG Bonus.
Wriothesley can generate 1 Cryo particle on hitting an enemy in this state with a cooldown of 2 seconds. He will generate 5-6 Cryo Particles within his field-time, though Energy isn’t important for him.
Elemental Burst
Wriothesley’s Elemental Burst has a cooldown of 15 seconds and an Energy cost of 60. It deals a few instances of Cryo DMG, which are generally not worth the rotation time, especially in Stellar-Conduct teams. It can be worth using with his C2 in a Melt team.
