Overview
Lohen’s main method of dealing damage on-field is entering the special ‘Masterstroke’ state through his Elemental Skill and unleashing rapid Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks to accumulate a resource called Joy while spending it with his empowered Elemental Skills or his Elemental Burst. His only requirement for accessing most of his kit’s power is having teammates that deal enough off-field damage to stack his ‘Will to Win’ resource.
Elemental Skill & Joy
Lohen’s Elemental Skill has an 18 second cooldown, and Masterstroke lasts for 13 seconds (slightly extendable through hitlag). During Masterstroke, Lohen’s Normal and Charged Attacks gain a non-overrideable Cryo infusion and increased damage, and will accumulate a special resource called ‘Joy’. Once Lohen has accumulated enough Joy, he will gain access to his Enhanced Elemental Skill called ‘Etched into Bone and Soul’. Lohen is able to use this Enhanced Skill strictly up to 3 times during a single instance of Masterstroke.
Lohen’s Masterstroke Charged Attack has a very high multiplier. Because of this, Lohen generally wants to opt for using it as much as possible. To do this, Lohen should seek to use N1C, that is, a Normal Attack immediately followed by a Charged Attack, as much as possible. These N1C chains end up being Lohen’s main source of damage.
When under Masterstroke, if any of Lohen’s attacks hit an enemy, he will generate 1 Cryo Particle. This has a cooldown of 2 seconds, so Lohen will generally generate 6 Cryo Particles during his field time.
Each Normal Attack or Charged Attack that hits an enemy will grant Lohen 17 Joy, and this effect has a cooldown of 0.1 seconds. To cast Etched into Bone and Soul, Lohen must accumulate the maximum of 100 Joy, and will consume that Joy on cast.
Will to Win Explained: Off-field DMG and Base ATK
Additionally, when teammates that are off-field deal damage to enemies, they will accumulate a resource for Lohen called ‘Will to Win’. Lohen is able to spend his Will to Win with his Enhanced Skill or his Elemental Burst, which will consume all Will to Win and deal increased damage based on the amount consumed.
At C0, Will to Win has a maximum of 100. Lohen is only able to gain it when teammates deal off-field damage, and there is a strict requirement on it: Lohen will accumulate 20 Will to Win if the off-field teammates’ damage instances deals an amount of damage equal or higher to 10 times Lohen’s Base ATK – NOT his Total ATK. Otherwise, Lohen will gain 1 Will to Win per damage instance.
Base ATK is the combination of a character’s Base ATK (in this case, Lohen’s 343 and change) and the Base ATK of the weapon they’re using – with his signature, which has a Base ATK of 674, each damage instance over 10170 DMG will give Lohen 20 Will to Win. This is not particularly difficult to achieve in Hexerei teams, as long as you’re using decent off-field buffing units like Nicole.
If an off-field damage instance is 30 times Lohen’s Base ATK or above (in the above example, 30540 damage), with his Ascension 1 Passive, that damage instance will generate another 60 Will to Win for Lohen.
If the amount of Will to Win Lohen consumes with his Enhanced Skill or his Elemental Burst is at 50 or more of its maximum and Hexerei: Secret Rite is active by having 2 or more Hexerei units in the party, Lohen’s NA and CA DMG will be increased by 40% for 6 seconds. This incentivizes Lohen to use his Enhanced Skill even more when Will to WIn is high.
Elemental Burst
Lohen’s Elemental Burst has an Energy cost of 60 on a 15 second cooldown, and deals significant Cryo DMG that additionally consumes all Will to Win and scales with the amount consumed. It should be used to replace other hits in Lohen’s rotation whenever it is available, so as to not needlessly extend the rotation, but building Energy Recharge specifically for it is not recommended.
Other Passive Effects
Lohen’s Exploration passive has a combat effect that gives him +1 talent level to Elemental Skill for 9 seconds upon entering Masterstroke, which is increased by 6 seconds if no other party member’s talent level is lower than his Skill talent level.
If an off-field teammate triggers an Elemental Reaction, Lohen will buff their and his own ATK by 15% with his Ascension 4 Passive.
