Overview
Iansan is an ATK-buffing Support for the on-fielder, with some minor healing on the side. In order to maintain her buff's potency and duration, the on-field character will have to perform movement. This can include any movement, whether vertical or horizontal. Many on-field DPS, including most from Natlan, will naturally do this. Some will have to intentionally adjust their movement and combos, and some simply don't have the ability to do so. This makes Iansan less generic than someone like
Bennett, but the trade-off tends to be that her buffs are stronger than almost anyone else's, at least with a few Constellations.
Elemental Skill & Nightsoul's Blessing
Iansan’s Elemental Skill will have her dash forward and deal Electrto damage to all enemies struck. She will gain 54 Nightsoul Points (which is also her maximum) and enter her Nightsoul’s Blessing state. Movement actions like dash will consume her Nightsoul, and she will also consume 6 Nightsoul a second at a baseline. In this state, she will gain access to a special Charged Attack, which she can also trigger by using regular Normal Attacks for the first 5 seconds. Using this special Charged Attack will be very relevant for her buffing ability before C2, but C2 removes the need to use it.
If this Skill hits an enemy, it will generate 4 Electro Particles. It has a 16 second cooldown. Iansan can also Hold this Skill, but this is only relevant for exploration purposes.
Elemental Burst
Iansan’s Elemental Burst has an Energy cost of 70 and a cooldown of 18 seconds. On cast, she will deal some Electro DMG in an AoE around her, gain a few Nightsoul Points, and while in her Nightsoul’s Blessing state, she will create a ‘Kinetic Energy Scale’ that tracks the active character. When Iansan’s Nightsoul is above 42 points she will buff the active character’s attack by a large portion of her own Total ATK. When Iansan’s Nightsoul character is below 42 points, this buffing will take a significant hit and scale on the amount of Nightsoul she has, at 0.5 ATK% per Nightsoul point.
This effect has a cap on the amount of ATK she can buff the active character that scales with the Burst’s talent level. It also has a maximum duration of 12 seconds at C0, though it becomes 15 seconds at C6.
Kinetic Energy Scale Details
While the Kinetic Energy Scale is active, it will track the active character’s movement, and will give Iansan Nightsoul Points in intervals of 1 second based on the distance they traveled within that second. More specifically, Iansan will gain 1 Nightsoul per 2 meters the active character travels.
This includes ALL movement, regardless of direction. Kinich and Mavuika are characters that will move a lot in a horizontal manner with their spinning, while Varesa is a character that moves a lot vertically with her plunging. All of these characters are able to comfortably maintain Iansan at above 42 Nightsoul. Iansan is not recommended to be played with characters that cannot maintain her Nightsoul Points at a high amount consistently. Remember, Iansan’s consumption per second is 6 at a baseline, which means that without anything else she would require 12 meters of traveling pre second to maintain this.
Nightsoul Generation & Ascension Passives
Iansan can help her Nightsoul generation through her Ascension 1. If Iansan uses her special Charged Attack, she will gain the Precise Movement effect for 15 seconds. This increases her ATK by 20% (counting towards her buff) and ALL Nightsoul generation for herself will be increased by 1 Nightsoul Point, regardless of how much it was. If the active character consumes or generates Nightsoul for themselves, Iansan will additionally give herself 4 Nightsoul. This effect has a cooldown of 2.8 seconds.
With both of these effects, if the character the Kinetic Scale is tracking is a Nightsoul character, Iansan will only require 4-6 meters of movement per second.
Iansan’s Ascension 4 passive will have her heal the active character for 60% of her attack when she’s in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state. It also has a cooldown of 2.8 seconds, and is active for 10 seconds after a character triggers Nightsoul Burst. This should generally have full uptime.
