Gorou is usually not as good as Illuga at C6 in this slot, however he can be competitive with C6 Illuga.
Other Lunar Crystallize teams
Gorou has limited viability in non-Zibai Lunar Crystallize teams, but he is worse than his replacements than he typically is.
Other Geo teams
Gorou is very good in the old Geo team structures such as 
Arataki Itto, however, said structures are quite outdated and oftentimes entirely unusable without very significant vertical.
