Character Profile

The on-fielder dedicated to Lunar-Charged, Flins is an excellent DPS with a breadth of content he’s uniquely equipped against. Flins being on the team enables Lunar-Charged, a modified version of the Electro-Charged reaction that functions similarly but deals a good deal more damage, further buffed by Flins and his usual teammates. Flins relies almost exclusively on his Elemental Burst to deal damage, and specifically a special version of his Burst without a 5 star animation.

Flins relies on the enemy being afflicted by the Lunar-Charged reaction to perform at his best, netting him lower teammate versatility than most, and his teams are particularly hungry for Ineffa as well as Columbina. Flins also requires the Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam effect to activate some powerful portions of his kit, which is trivially achievable but still a restriction to be mindful of.

Flins relies entirely on his Elemental Burst to deal damage, making building enough ER to use 2 of his mini Bursts absolutely essential. The amount of ER necessary depends heavily on the rest of the team, Favonius Weapons, as well as the content he's up against. It is recommendable to err on the safe side.

As a Lunar DPS, EM and ATK% substats can be fairly comparable on Flins.

Best Teams

Flins Lunar-Charged

Flins Columbina Ineffa Sucrose

  • Columbina can be replaced by other Hydro slots such as Aino or Xingqiu, but they will generally be massive downgrades. In fact, the team has an easier time replacing Ineffa purely in terms of damage, as Fischl with her Hexerei buffs can be fairly decent.
  • Sucrose alternatives alternatives include other RES Shredder like Durin or Xilonen, or even a buffer like Nicole.

Example Rotation

  1. Ineffa Skill Cleaning Mode: Carrier Frequency (+ Burst Supreme Instruction: Cyclonic Exterminator)
  2. Columbina Skill Eternal Tides (+ Burst Moonlit Melancholy)
  3. Sucrose Skill Astable Anemohypostasis Creation - 6308 or Attack + Burst Forbidden Creation - Isomer 75 / Type II
  4. Flins on-field combo
  5. Sucrose Skill or Attack + Burst

Flins’s sole team archetype, but one he is by far the best on-fielder at. Both Columbina and Ineffa are massive upgrades in their respective slots, albeit Flins’s C1 and R1 can make up for not having them. Sucrose is the strongest RES Shred option thanks to her teamwide EM buffs, but C2 Xilonen or Durin with some vertical can be just as good. C2 Nicole is also very powerful. Columbina should hold Silken Moon's Serenade so Ineffa can hold Aubade of Morningstar and Moon, ideally, but the other way around works fine.

Best Weapons

BiS Option:Bloodsoaked Ruins

Flins’s Signature Weapon gives him a massive bundle of stats alongside significantly easing his ER requirements thanks to the flat Energy given. Usually much stronger than other options, but because of Flins's relatively low team DMG share, it can be less impactful of an increase as other modern 5 star weapons.

Limited 5 star alternatives

Staff of the Scarlet Sands: The massive Crit Rate secondary stat makes this exceedingly hard to build alongside Night of the Sky’s Unveiling, giving Flins room for no more than 8 or so Crit Rate substats. The passive is very strong though, so if you can do with the CR restriction, this is an excellent weapon.

Fractured Halo: Ineffa’s Signature is s a good option on Flins if you don’t have another good 5 star option on him, even with Ineffa on the team.

Standard 5 star:Primordial Jade Winged-Spear

Flins isn’t bad at stacking the passive and the statline is the same as his own Signature, so naturally this is a decent option.

Best 4 star:Deathmatch

The Battle Pass Polearm is always an excellent option on ATK scalers. Similar to SotSS, the high Crit Rate can occasionally be annoying to build around.Ballad of the Fjords is typically not better than Deathmatch, but can also be very good.

Best free option:Prospector's Shovel

The Nod-Krai craftable is solid on Flins if he doesn’t have access to any of the above options.

Best Artifacts & Stats

Night of the Sky's Unveiling: By far Flins’s best option just like other Lunar carries. His teams require Silken Moon's Serenade, so farming this domain for a strong Flins set is a given. 2p2p combinations of ATK% and EM can be decent to hold him over until you acquire a good NSU set, but it is a must.

Talent Priority

  1. Elemental Burst
  2. Elemental Skill
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>
  3. Normal Attack

Flins's Burst talent is where the vast majority of his damage is at and should be priority #1 to level in his teams. Elemental Skill contains a pretty small portion of it, while his Normal Attack talent is more or less worthless.

Constellations

C1Part the Veil of Snow
C2The Devil's Wall
C3Stranger in the Night
C4Night on Bald Mountain
C5Exile's Shadow
C6Songs and Dances of Death

Overview

Flins has very strong Constellations in terms of personal DPS. However, as he tends to make up about 50% of the team's DPS at C0R0, their power is limited in terms of team DPS.

Constellations Details & Approximate Damage Increase

C1: Lets Flins use his Special Burst an extra time for a total of up to 3 casts, whilst giving him some Energy to ease his heightened ER requirements. Very powerful, nearly doubling his personal damage (not counting his Lunar-Charged contribution) and resulting in a 10-20% team DPS upgrade, typically on the lower end for his best teams.

C2: Significantly buffs team DPS whilst giving him some extra Lunar-Charged hits. It also makes options like Nicole stronger. Usually anywhere from 10-20% of a team damage upgrade.

C3: Buffs the majority of his talent damage, it’s decent but not standout.

C4: Fairly alright stat stick Constellation. Can be up to a 10-15% personal damage upgrade.

C5: Negligible.

C6: Elevation acts as an extra multiplier to total DMG, thus directly increasing teammates’ Lunar-Charged damage by 10% (assuming no other Elevation in the team) and Flins’s personal damage by 45%. Quite strong, albeit not the strongest modern C6.

How to Play

Overview & Lunar Charged

Flins is an on-field DPS that near exclusively deals Lunar-Charged damage, through both his talents and the Reaction itself. His gameplay loop consists of entering his Special Skill state, gaining access to his Special Burst through his Enhanced Skill, and performing as many of those as possible.

Lunar-Charged is the Lunar Reaction that modifies Electro-Charged. It spawns rainclouds over opponents that deal strong damage every 2 seconds, and periodically refresh with seamless 100% uptime as long as the opponent has both Hydro and Electro on them at sufficient intervals. The damage of the rainclouds scales with the EM and Crit of the characters that participated in the Reaction, with priority given to the ones with the highest EM + Crit scaling.

Skill & Mini-Burst

Flins revolves around using his Special Burst in order to deal most of his damage. When he presses his Elemental Skill, he enters a special state called ‘Manifest Flame’. While in this state, his Normal Attacks gain a non-overrideable Electro infusion (they don’t deal a whole lot of damage) and he’s able to use his Elemental Skill again and transform his next Burst cast into ‘Thunderous Symphony’, which costs less Energy and has a much faster animation.

He can do this twice at C0 and 3 times at C1. While in this state he will generate roughly 1 Electro particle whenever he attacks an enemy, on a 2 second cooldown. Manifest Flame has a maximum duration of 10 seconds (although extended by hitlag), so his field-time is relatively quite short compared to most dedicated on-fielders. It is on a short 16 second cooldown.

Regular Burst

If Flins hasn’t fulfilled the conditions for his ‘Thunderous Symphony’ Burst, Flins is able to use a ‘regular’ Elemental Burst, costing 80 Energy on a 20 second cooldown and having an expectedly long cast time. This ‘big’ Burst does not actually deal meaningfully more damage than his ‘mini’ Bursts, so Flins will rarely want to use it. It also doesn’t exclusively deal Lunar-Charged damage instances.

Mini Burst Details

His ‘mini’ Bursts have an Energy cost of 30 and no cooldown of their own besides being limited by the special Elemental Skill casts. They deal Lunar-Charged damage exclusively and constitute the vast majority of his damage. Flins will generally want to use these up to his cap of 2 at C0 and 3 at C1.

If Ascendant Gleam isn’t active or if the enemy isn’t affected by Lunar-Charged when Flins hits them with a mini Burst, it will not do much damage. If both conditions are fulfilled, it will deal an additional damage instance worth ~60% of a total mini Burst’s cast damage. This means Flins requires very consistent Lunar-Charged uptime.

EM & ATK

Flins’s contribution to Lunar-Charged damage ticks is significantly improved thanks to his Ascension 1. Flins also gains 8 EM for every 100 ATK he has, up to 160 EM at 2000 ATK. This is easy to reach, and alongside his teams’ EM buffs makes EM relatively less powerful on him than the other Lunar carries (although still very strong). He also has the expected Moonsign passive of buffing the Base DMG of Lunar-Charged by 14%. This applies to both Talent and Reaction Lunar-Charged damage.

Additional Info

Flins is straightforward to play, with his uptime consisting of using Skill → using it again whenever available – using Special Burst when available – using Normal Attacks in the meantime. There is some minor degree of optimization with his Normal Attacks in order to generate and catch Energy particles at the most opportune times, but this ends up being largely trivial. Just make sure to Dash cancel the endlag of his Normal Attack animations.

Release Date

Flins was officially released as a playable character in Genshin Impact on September 30, 2025, during the Version 6.0 update.
