Character Profile

Emilie is a Dendro off-field Sub-DPS designed around being in Burning teams. One of the two dedicated Burning units in the game alongside Kinich, she occupies a unique niche and recently received major upgrades to her teams through the new Hexerei buffs and units. Emilie is not outright locked to Burning, with her kit functioning to an extent in other teams, but her damage goes down by quite a bit outside of them. She lacks buffs to the rest of the team in her kit besides her damage, so her overall effectiveness relies entirely on dealing strong personal damage. Her Dendro turret has a long duration and follows the player around, while her Burst is not necessary to use while still being strong. Emilie also has good early Constellations for Burning teams.

Due to Emilie’s damage being the only thing she provides to the team, it is relatively easy to skip wishing for or using her in favor of Constellations or other supports that focus on buffs. She’s not always the best slot in even Kinich Burning teams, her most naturally fitting team.

Best Teams

Kinich Burning

Kinich - Emilie - Nicole - Durin

  • Nicole is overall the strongest buffer for the team, but she really wants to be used alongside another Hexerei slot to unlock Celestial Gift. The only Hex unit that fits particularly well is Durin. Nicole’s ATK buff and Celestial Gift set significantly buff Emilie’s damage on top of buffing Kinich more than almost anyone. Nicole’s Shield is massive for Kinich, who desperately wants some form of defensive utility. Other options include Durin himself, Iansan and Bennett.
  • Durin is typically the best in this slot thanks to his personal damage, synergy with Nicole and additional Dendro RES Shred. Without Nicole his value does go down, but he will still typically be the best. Alternatives are Nicole herself, Iansan, Bennett, and Mavuika. Worth noting that Mavuika will not be able to consistently proc Scroll of the Cinder City, as refreshing the duration of Burning that is already on the enemy does not count as trigger the Burning reaction.

Example Rotation

  1. Nicole Skill (+ Burst)
  2. Durin Skill + Skill + Burst
  3. Emilie Skill or Burst
  4. Kinich combo

Other Burning teams:

  • Hexerei Sub-DPS: Emilie alongside Nicole and other Hexerei Sub-DPS forms a formidable damage core that can be used alongside many different DPS.
  • Lohen: Emilie can be used in place of Xilonen or Citlali in Lohen teams. Emilie herself provides a good amount of off-field DMG, and alongside Durin will allow Lohen to be the primarily Melt trigger instead of Durin. This is the Lohen + Durin team with the highest Lohen damage share.
  • Clorinde: Emilie’s Burning requirements are not particularly strict. This lets her play alongside an Electro carry like Clorinde next to the Hex cores, making for a team where everyone does decent damage and constantly shifts the Elemental Aura on enemies between Quicken / Burning / Electro.

Best Weapons

BiS Option: Lumidouce Elegy

Emilie’s Signature Weapon. It contains no team buffing and its stats aren’t particularly impressive; 15 ATK% and 36 DMG% is just decent. The extra Energy can let Emilie use her Elemental Burst on every rotation while not building a lot of Energy Recharge, which can be a decent increase.

Limited 5 star alternatives: More or less any 5* Polearm with useful stats and a semi useful passive will be pretty good on Emilie. Examples include Staff of the Scarlet Sands, Staff of Homa, Calamity Queller. None are particularly notable, but they’re worth using if you have them around.

Standard 5 star: Primordial Jade Winged-Spear

Emilie does not make great use of the passive, but the statline is good enough to make the Standard Banner 5* Polearm a good option.

Best 4 star: Deathmatch

Great as always, particularly at higher refinements. Generally her best 4* option in most scenarios. Another good 4* option is Sacrificer’s Staff, which is a weapon banner exclusive weapon.

Best free option: Missive Windspear

An older Event weapon and typically her strongest entirely free option. The EM is not generally useful, but the ATK% is pretty good.

Accessible option: Blackcliff Pole

Lacking any of the above options, the Starglitter shop weapon will have to do. It’s not very good and directly costs pulls, so if anything else is available, opt for that instead.

Best Artifacts & Stats

BiS Damage option: Unfinished Reverie

Essentially made for Emilie. Consistent 50 DMG% makes it easily her strongest 4pc option, and it can be useful for other DPS characters in Burning teams. The other set in its domain is Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy, which generally is used by very different characters. It’s recommended to opt for Strongboxing this set for Emilie instead.

BiS Support option: Deepwood Memories

Emilie is often the best user of this set in her teams, although a unit like Durin can hold it instead. It is an essential part of any Dendro DMG based team, and will typically offer more team damage than a set that exclusively buffs Emilie’s personal damage.

2p2p combinations: Generally pretty good, but quite far behind 4pc Reveries. Emilie’s utility is entirely her personal damage, so if wanting to use her it is likely a good idea to improve her build as much as possible.

Talent Priority

  1. Elemental Skill
  2. Elemental Burst

Constellations

C1Light Fragrance Leaching
C2Lakelight Top Note
C3Exquisite Essence
C4Lumidouce Heart Note
C5Puredew Aroma
C6Marcotte Sillage

C1: Emilie’s C1 is a massive personal damage increase of up to 50%. It directly increases most of her damage by 20% while significantly increasing the frequency of her Ascension 1 Passive triggers, a very large part of her damage. Because Emilie is typically not a huge part of team DPS, this will come out to a roughly 10-15% team DPS increase, depending on the team and investment,

C2: Dendro DMG teams and Burning teams in particular have access to very high RES Shred relatively easily between Deepwood Memories and Durin. With Durin, this Constellation is around a 10% team DPS increase; without him, it can be a little more. Still, a solid C2.

C3: Most of Emilie’s damage does not come from her Skill Talent. Barely useful, even as a personal DPS increase.

C4: Makes her Burst quite a bit stronger. She will typically already want to use it whenever available, and this will make her always want to have it available. However, it doesn’t buff the rest of her damage, making it not noteworthy.

C5: Similarly to C3, kind of negligible.

C6: Makes Emilie want to use a few Normal Attacks in addition to Skill / Burst. These NAs will do a decent amount of damage and generate more Ascension 1 triggers, but because of the rotation extension, they’re not that strong overall. It’s alright, very far from modern support Constellation 6s.

Release Date

Emilie was officially released as a playable 5-star Dendro character in Genshin Impact on August 6, 2024, during the Version 4.8 update.
