Character Profile

As the Archon equivalent figure of Nod-Krai, Columbina is the centerpiece of Moonsign / Lunar Reaction teams. She is an excellent Sub-DPS and Support that bestows each Lunar Reaction a unique buff to complement her high damage. She can also be played as a Lunar Bloom On-Field DPS, which can be strong against Lunar focused content under certain circumstances.

She enables all Lunar Reactions herself and does not have any important Moonsign conditionals, unlike most other Moonsign characters. The only direct difference Ascendant Gleam makes for her is increasing the AoE of her Lunar damage.

Columbina’s only weakness is her need for other Moonsign teammates, making her teams more restricting. That said, her strength in said teams tends to more than outweigh this small downside.

Depending on the team, Columbina can either choose to build a lot of Energy Recharge and aim to use Burst every rotation, or build much less of it and use her Burst every other rotation. Typically, she will want to do the former in Nefer / Lunar Bloom teams, but is able (and sometimes encouraged) to do the latter in Flins, Zibai, and other teams.

Best Teams

Zibai Lunar Crystallize

Zibai - Columbina - Linnea - Illuga

  • Linnea or Illuga can be replaced by Gorou at C6, Xilonen at C2, or even Ineffa to form a Lunar-Charged and Lunar Crystallized hybrid team.

The team where Columbina generally does the most personal damage in; already swimming in Lunar DMG Bonus, so Columbina can comfortably use Burst every other rotation and focus on her damage even more.

Example Rotation

  1. Columbina Skill ( + Burst )
  2. Linnea Skill or Burst
  3. Illuga Burst + Skill
  4. Zibai on-field combo

Nefer Lunar Bloom

Nefer - Columbina - Lauma - Nahida or Sucrose

  • Sucrose holding Deepwood Memories is about as good and can be even better than Nahida, thanks to her teamwide EM buff. Ineffa and Kuki Shinobu are viable sustain options in the same slot.
  • Lauma alternatives are generally far worse, because Lauma significantly buffs Nefer and gives Columbina most of her damage in Lunar Bloom. If you don't have Lauma, you can opt to use a team of Nefer - Columbina - Fischl - Sucrose instead. The added Lunar-Charged reaction damage and EM buffing is quite good.

Columbina’s Burst has particular importance for Nefer Lunar Bloom; the mechanics will be discussed more in-depth in the How To Play and Additional Info Sections, but you will generally want to Burst with Columbina as often as possible to allow Lauma to use her Hold Skill and consume Verdant Dew.

Example Rotation

Open the first rotation with Nefer Skill

  1. Columbina Skill + Burst
  2. Nahida Skill + Burst
  3. Lauma Hold Skill + Burst
  4. Nefer on-field combo

Flins Lunar-Charged

Flins - Columbina - Ineffa - Sucrose

  • Ineffa Alternatives: Fischl tends to be best alongside Sucrose.
  • Sucrose alternatives: Durin / Xilonen / Nicole / Jahoda

Without Ineffa, Columbina should try using Aubade of Morningstar and Moon, but she should hold Silken Moon's Serenade otherwise.

Example Rotation

  1. Ineffa Skill (+ Burst)
  2. Columbina Skill (+ Burst)
  3. Sucrose Skill or Attack + Burst
  4. Flins on-field combo
  5. Sucrose Skill or Attack + Burst

On-field Lunar Bloom

Columbina - Lauma - Nilou - Nahida

  • Nilou alternatives: Aino (particularly at C6) / Sucrose / Ineffa
  • Nahida alternatives: any Dendro unit to trigger Dendro resonance and aid with Lauma’s Energy requirements
  • Lauma alternatives: None. This team is not very good without her.

Columbina’s unique Enhanced Charged Attack deals a good chunk of Lunar Bloom damage, and this functionally makes her one of the best Dendro DPS in the game that isn’t Nefer. This team can be played without a dedicated healer if someone holds Prototype Amber.

( Columbina Skill first rotation )

  1. Nahida Skill + Burst
  2. Lauma Burst + Hold Skill
  3. Nilou Skill + Attack (Nilou's excess Hydro Application is more of a deteriment, you don't want to activate it)
  4. Columbina Burst + 6CA + Skill

Generic Lunar Crystallize

on-field Geo like Navia - Columbina Linnea - flex ( Furina or Illuga )

Focusing on applying as much Geo as possible to trigger Lunar Crystallize is one of the best options for any Geo on-fielder, although they act as a worse version of Zibai. Furina will significantly improve the team's non Lunar damage, while Illuga will focus much more on it instead. If using Furina, Linnea will need to use her Burst every rotation.

Generic Lunar-Charged

Ineffa - Columbina - RES Shredder + Flex

  • RES Shredder: Sucrose / Xilonen / Durin sometimes
  • Flex: Fischl / A second of the above units / Any on-field carry that doesn't’t interfere with Lunar-Charged uptime

The infamous Bineffa core. Both of them deal exceptional personal damage, so any synergistic teammates will resolve this into a viable team provided the content allows for Lunar Charged. It’s possible to forgo a dedicated on-fielder entirely and quick-swap between Columbina and Ineffa with one or both of them holding Night of the Sky's Unveiling to maximize their damage, but this isn’t necessarily significantly more powerful than the alternatives. Synergistic dedicated on-fielders include Neuvillette and virtually any Pyro or Electro carry.

A standout of these is a SandBina team:

Sandrone - Columbina - Yae Miko - Ineffa

This is a very strong Lunar-Charged and Sandrone team. It features some unique Elemental interactions and a longer than usual rotation for Sandrone, where she performs 4 Charged Attacks instead of the usual 3. This enables both Sandrone and Ineffa to use their Bursts every rotation without a lot of Energy Recharge.

Best Weapons

BiS Option: Nocturne's Curtain Call

Columbina's Signature Weapon is also naturally her general Best-in-Slot; the stat bonuses are massive but the condition is quite strict for units that aren’t Columbina. Nefer is also able to make good use of it if she doesn't have her own signature. The energy significantly alleviates Columbina’s otherwise high Energy requirements, particularly welcome in Stygian Onslaught.

Limited 5 star alternatives:

Reliquary of Truth: Nefer's signature is quite strong on on-field Columbina, but less so elsewhere.

Tome of the Eternal Flow: The HP% it provides is nice, but it's likely worse overall than a high refinement Sacrificial Jade

Best 4 star damage option: Sacrificial Jade

Usually her second highest damage option just behind her Signature. Due to its very high Crit Rate secondary alongside Columbina’s Crit Rate Ascension and her Ascension 1 passive giving her up to 15 more Crit Rate makes this very difficult to build – just off those, Columbina is starting at 76 CR, and to top it off, both Lunar Crystallize and Lunar Bloom have team-wide Crit Rate buffs. This leaves very little room for CR substats. Mostly good for the Burst every other rotation playstyle.

Best 4 star energy option: Favonius Codex

If the aim is to use her Burst every rotation, this is an excellent choice. With the Energy provided by the Favonius particles, she’s able to comfortably use an HP% Sands. Best in Nefer teams.

Best free option:Prototype Amber

Can perform similarly to Favonius Codex, trading off team-wide Energy for higher personal damage. If the healing is useful, this is a strong choice.

Niche alternative: Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers

Columbina can make use of the HP% secondary stat, but since it doesn’t give her a lot of personal damage, it’s only useful in very certain cases, such as with a Pyro on-fielder.

Other weapons with Crit Rate or Crit Damage stats might perform fine, but if Sacrificial Jade has been acquired and is available, they will generally be worse than it.

Best Artifacts & Stats

Columbina is particularly versatile in terms of Artifacts, having 2 sets she can utilize fully in all of her teams.

Silken Moon's Serenade is a necessity for any Moonsign team, while Aubade of Morningstar and Moon is her best choice for her personal damage, provided a different teammate is able to use SMS.

Lunar-Charged teams with Flins + Ineffa

Silken Moon's Serenade

Ineffa deals more personal damage than Columbina and ideally will be the one holding Aubade; the other way around is still good, but this distribution is optimal assuming similar substats.

In Lunar Crystallize teams with Zibai

If Illuga C2+
Columbina - Aubade of Morningstar and Moon
Illuga - Silken Moon's Serenade

If not
Columbina - Silken Moon's Serenade
Illuga - 2pc EM + 2pc EM / Instructor

In Lunar Bloom teams with Nefer + Lauma

Silken Moon's Serenade

Both sets are roughly about as good, but force different sets for Lauma. Ideally, Columbina will be the one holding Silken Moon’s Serenade here so Lauma can use 2pc EM + 2pc EM, with the last slot carrying Deepwood Memories – Lauma’s quills are such a significant portion of team DPS (and Columbina’s personal damage in particular) that this becomes worth doing. The alternative is using SMS on Lauma and Aubade on Columbina, which eases Lauma’s ER requirements but cuts down on her EM.

In various other teams

Ineffa and Linnea will generally do a little more personal damage than Columbina, so if used with them and no other teammate that wants to use Silken Moon’s Serenade (which does not require the user to be a Moonsign character), she should use it. Otherwise, Aubade works well.

As an on-fielder

Night of the Sky's Unveiling

She should use Night of the Sky’s Unveiling, with no other set being a particularly competitive option. Watch out for Crit Rate overcaps.

Skill Priority

  1. Elemental Skill
  2. Elemental Burst
  3. Normal Attack

Her Normal Attack talent is only particularly useful in on-field Columbina teams, and even there it's not incredible. Elemental Skill contains the entirety of her personal damage, while her Elemental Burst contains the Lunar DMG% provided in her Lunar Domain.

Constellations

C1Radiance Over Blossoms and Peaks
C2Not in Lone Splendor
C3Dreamlike Glow Across Tranquil Waters
C4Cloudveiled Ridges in Floral Mists
C5Silence Tending One Lone Song
C6Through Darkness Led by Moonlight

Overview

All of Columbina’s Constellations provide Elevation to the team: this stat is an entirely separate multiplier that applies at the end of damage calculation, not to general DMG Bonus. It can be read as “the team deals X% more Lunar damage. Columbina's Constellations tend to have decent use outside of dedicated Lunar damage as well, despite that.

Constellations Details & Approximate Damage Increase

C1: The Energy and defensive options this provides are useful but not major; the extra damage is decent but not noteworthy. Mediocre Constellation overall, ~4-7% depending on the team.

C2: One of the strongest second Constellations in the game in isolation, but because of her underwhelming C1, the jump from C0 → C2 is roughly as much as other supports with strong Constellations (Furina, Durin, Citlali, etc). As the buffs this provides do not require the recipient to be a Moonsign character, this remains very useful for teams that aren’t dedicated to Lunar Reaction damage. Roughly a 20% team damage increase.

C3: A little bit more personal damage that’s generally negligible, even with the Elevation.

C4: Similar to the above, but the extra Energy gives it decent practicality.

C5: Generally negligible.

C6: An excellent Constellation C6 that will make the team deal 20-30% more damage, depending on stats and whether it’s a Lunar team or not. Note that the damage applies to any Elemental damage of the type of Lunar Reaction that happened, so this buffs ALL Electro/Dendro/Geo damage. Only downside is that it requires her Burst.

How to Play

Overview

Columbina is primarily an off-field Sub-DPS that deals Lunar damage of the Lunar Reaction type that the team deals the most damage of. She has some buffing through her Elemental Burst, and can also take the role of an on-fielder in Lunar Bloom teams.

Columbina enables all Lunar Reactions while she is in the team. If the team is able to trigger multiple of them at once, they will.

Elemental Skill & Gravity

Columbina Skill deals damage around the active character and applies Hydro on cast and subsequently once every 2 seconds, lasting for about 25 seconds. Every other hit has a chance of generating 1-2 Hydro Particles. While Skill is active, whenever the team triggers a Lunar Reaction, Columbina will generate a special resource called ‘Gravity’. This fills up gradually over 2 seconds, and the duration is refreshed every time a Lunar Reaction is triggered.

If Lunar Reactions are triggered consistently and Columbina accumulates enough Gravity (which occurs after roughly 6 seconds of Gravity generation), she will trigger a special attack called ‘Gravity Interference’. This attack deals a massive instance of Lunar Reaction damage that inherits the type and Element of the most triggered Lunar Reaction.

This means most of Columbina’s damage is Lunar-Charged / Lunar Bloom / Lunar Crystallize and thus Electro / Dendro / Geo respectively, not Hydro damage. Lunar damage gains DMG Bonus from Columbina’s EM and isn’t affected by regular DMG Bonus. Columbina will still apply Hydro every 2 seconds even without any Lunar Reactions, but without them she will not be able to trigger Gravity Interference.

Elemental Burst & Lunar Domain

Her Elemental Burst deals AoE Hydro damage around her and generates a Lunar Domain. While inside, each Lunar Reaction is given a unique buff:

  • Lunar-Charged / Lunar Crystallize - gives a chance to the Reaction procs to deal more damage.
  • Lunar Bloom - Generates a secondary bar of Verdant Dew, the unique Lunar Bloom resource.

Normal Verdant Dews will be consumed before these special ones:

  • Nefer’s Enhanced Charged Attack
  • Lauma’s Hold Skill
  • Columbina Enhanced Charged Attack

Lauma Hold Skill is the most important for Lunar Bloom teams because she generates more quills the more Verdant Dew she consumes. Because both Nefer and Columbina deal several instances of Lunar Bloom damage, the only way to buff all of those instances is consuming 3 Verdant Dew with Lauma’s Hold Skill. This makes the team hungry for Verdant Dew, and Columbina is highly encouraged to maintain high Burst uptime.

Rotation Playstyle

Columbina has two main ‘playstyles’ that can affect how she is built and the team’s rotation:

  1. Elemental Burst roughly every other rotation (Recommended for most)
  2. Elemental Burst every rotation

Despite her Burst being quite strong for Lunar Reaction teams, Columbina will generally want to be the only Hydro unit in those teams and thus have very steep Energy requirements.

Building for Burst every other rotation is easier and allows players to invest more into her personal damage, which is excellent as a Sub-DPS.

Enchanced Charged Attack (Dendro On-Fielder)

Columbina also has a unique Enhanced Charged Attack that she can use if the team has generated Verdant Dew. This Enhanced CA will deal 3 hits of Lunar-Bloom damage and consume 1 Verdant Dew on cast, and it enables Columbina to be a surprisingly good Dendro on-fielder if used alongside Lauma.

HP Requirement

Columbina has a unique Lunar damage buffing passive. All Moonsign 5-stars have a passive that increases the Base DMG of the Lunar Reaction they’re focused around by 14%. Columbina instead buffs all Lunar Reactions by up to 7%. Her requirements for this are higher than the other Moonsign units, requiring 35k HP to max it out.

Other Teams

In teams that aren’t dedicated to Lunar Reaction damage, Columbina’s Burst isn’t doing very much and will generally not be worth the time and Energy spent using it. However, since Columbina herself deals Lunar Reaction damage, if there is another teammate that deals significant amounts of it (Ineffa, Linnea), using it won’t necessarily be a damage loss.

Additional Info

Columbina is a fairly simple unit to play with Lunar-Charged and Lunar Crystallize, as the damage and upkeep she provides are essentially entirely passive as long as Reactions are being triggered semi consistently. In Lunar Bloom with Lauma and/or Nefer, Verdant Dews become a resource that one must actively be mindful of.

More Lunar Bloom Details

It is possible to Burst every other rotation with Columbina in a Nefer + Lauma team because of a few very convenient mechanics:

  • Nefer rotations can be fairly short with good Dash Cancels
  • Columbina’s Lunar Domain lasts for 20 seconds
  • Special Verdant Dews generated inside the Lunar Domain will carry over during combat, even after it goes down

This means that additional special Dews will be generated while Lauma and Nefer consume all of them, and it is possible to consistently generate enough to get full Dew uptime every rotation even if Columbina Bursts every other rotation – each rotation needs 9 Verdant Dew, 3 for Lauma and 6 for Nefer, so going into Nefer’s uptime with a couple Columbina Dews means Nefer will have enough without needing to wait.

Since Lunar Bloom is the archetype that gains the least direct damage upgrade from Columbina’s Lunar Domain, this is worth considering. However, because Nefer’s uptime can be very short, you will likely run into rotational downtime if you don’t burst every rotation and don’t perform the more advanced Instructor based rotations she can perform (more in the Nefer guide).

Bineffa

Bineffa with a Pyro on-field carry is easier to play than the usual Vaporize + Overload teams thanks to Lunar-Charged having slightly different mechanics to Electro-Charged. Mavuika and Arlecchino can Vaporize most to all of their hits able to Vaporize, and because Lunar-Charged doesn’t require Hydro and Electro to constantly be on the enemy, but rather is interval based, this doesn’t interfere with Columbina’s Gravity of the Reaction damage. This is also where TTDS can be worth using sometimes.

Release Date

Columbina debuted as a playable character in Genshin Impact during Version 6.3, which officially launched globally on January 14, 2026.
