Character Profile

Clorinde is an on-field Electro DPS. Utilizing high attack speed and constant fluctuation of Bond of Life, she’s a fairly dynamic and flexible character. Electro is an element with many support options and content to be played in, so Clorinde is able to find herself being strong into many endgame scenarios despite her age. Unlike most ATK-scaling characters, Clorinde has a unique passive that makes ATK less strong on her than most, which can reduce the value of some supports like Bennett, but increase the value of someone like Chevreuse. This same passive also incentivizes a second Electro unit in Clorinde’s teams, although her relatively limited synergy with many of them makes this not a strict requirement.

As someone without a specific niche to excel at, Clorinde can struggle to push past certain thresholds in tough endgame scenarios without vertical. She is also relatively rotationally inflexible and has very short uptime, making some rotations with her run into downtime. She’s also quite reliant on newer supports to perform at her best, something that isn’t inherently bad but needs to be taken into account.

Best Teams

Overload Carry

Clorinde + 3 of:

Chevreuse / Nicole / Durin / Fischl / Iansan / Mavuika

  • Chevreuse is one of Clorinde’s strongest teammates. A bit of ATK%, lots of DMG% through C6, passively activated Shred and very short cooldowns makes her exceptionally synergistic with Clorinde. She does lack Pyro application of her own for consistent Shred uptime, making a teammate like Durin or Mavuika very strong alongside her.
  • The Hexerei Witch Nicole provides Clorinde with not too much ATK, at full uptime, and 40 DMG% with Celestial Gift and another Hexerei character in the team. Since both Durin and Fischl are good Clorinde teammates, she can be a great slot-in next to them.
  • Durin’s 18 second cooldown is longer than Clorinde typically wants her rotations to be, but he is strong enough to make up for it, especially alongside Nicole.
  • Fischl can work well with either Nicole or Durin, and the 45 ATK% is nothing to scoff at. Unfortunately forces Durin to hold Celestial Gift in optimal setups.
  • At C6, Iansan is one of Clorinde’s strongest supports. Clorinde moves enough to maintain great uptime on her buff, although that can be a little tight sometimes. While she doesn’t have off-field Electro, she will typically assist enough with stacks, and her insane buffs alongside Scroll make it very worth for Clorinde.
  • Mavuika is particularly good alongside Iansan if she’s using her Buffer cancels. Mavuika’s Burst has an 18 second cooldown, meaning there’s some rotation time she can fill in through an extra Charged Attack or two.

Example Rotation

  1. Durin Skill + Skill + Burst
  2. Fischl Skill or Burst
  3. Chevreuse Hold Skill + Burst
  4. Clorinde on-field combo

Electro-Charged Carry

Clorinde + Hydro Slot + Electro Slot + Flex Slot

Hydro Slot: Columbina / Mona

  • Columbina turns the team into a Lunar-Charged team, which will be a boon against many endgame scenarios. She is also a competent holder of Tenacity of the Milelith at the cost of a bit of personal damage.
  • Mona is strong after her Hexerei buffs alongside Fischl or Sucrose. She has short cooldowns and buffs that are full uptime for Clorinde. Her limited Hydro application uptime is still enough for Clorinde’s Ascension 1 Passive.

Electro Slot: Iansan / Ineffa / Fischl

  • Iansan takes the same role as in the Overload structure, but her ATK buff can be even more valuable here due to a lack of other ATK buffs.
  • Ineffa is particularly good alongside Columbina, although she makes the team’s damage share shift significantly away from Clorinde’s personal damage.
  • Fischl works great to enable Mona’s buffs if the flex slot doesn’t. The EM buff is much less valuable than her ATK% buff, so she is a bit worse compared to Overload.

Flex Slot: Sucrose / Xilonen / Durin / Nicole

  • Sucrose's VV’s 10 second of Shred is enough for Clorinde’s uptime, and she will enable Mona’s Hexerei buffs if Fischl isn’t being used. Wandering Evenstar or TTDS can be decent support catalysts.
  • Durin: If Mona is being used and Sucrose or Fischl aren’t, he’s the natural slot here thanks to his RES Shred. Can even be used alongside Fischl, as he will enable her ATK% buff and get some extra Vaporize damage.
  • Xilonen is a strong alternative if the team can make use of Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City well. She will be worse than Sucrose if the EM buff is relevant, but better otherwise.
  • Nicole is slightly similar in use to Durin, but buffs ATK instead of debuffing RES Shred and will not lengthen the team’s rotation. Without Sub-DPS, she is quite less valuable than her usual.

There are other team archetypes Clorinde can be used in and team modifications she can do with the above archetypes. She can make use of Emilie in the Overload structure for a hybrid Quickburn team, particularly good with the Hexerei core buffing everyone.

She can also play in various Dendro structures, such as Hyperbloom or Quicken. However, without notable vertical investment or against very specific content, such teams will generally underperform.

Best Weapons

BiS Option: Absolution

Clorinde’s signature weapon. While the 20 uniliteral CD can make it usable on other characters, she is the only fully able to make use of the passive. It’s not necessarily an impressive weapon, but it does tend to be a decent amount better than other viable alternatives.

Limited 5 star alternatives:

Mistsplitter Reforged, Haran Geppaku Futsu and similar are decent options. The ones with Crit Rate mainstat can be pretty difficult to build due to Clorinde’s very high starting Crit Rate, but if she can use their passives, they will be pretty strong anyway.

Best free option: Finale of the Deep

Clorinde’s best free option generally. She self-heals quite a bit, making it really easy to make full use of its healing demanding passive.

Niche alternative: Calamity of Eshu

Better than Finale of the Deep with a Shielder like Nicole, but it loses almost its entire value if the Shield breaks. Very strong if able to be made use of.

Best Artifacts & Stats

BiS Option: Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy

Almost always Clorinde’s best option. She stacks the passive pretty much instantly, and DMG% is still quite valuable to her. It’s on the strongbox, so there’s little reason to not try getting a set if you want to play Clorinde.

2p2p combinations: Can hold you over until you get a Whimsy 4pc set.

Niche alternatives:

Unfinished Reverie is about as good Whimsy in Quickburn teams, and found in the same domain. Not worth going over instead of Whimsy if a decision has to be made though.

Night of the Sky's Unveiling's Crit Rate is difficult to build on Clorinde, but if you can, this is quite strong in the Lunar teams.

Talent Priority

  1. Elemental Skill
  2. Elemental Burst

Constellations

C1"From This Day, I Pass the Candle's Shadow-Veil"
C2"Now, As We Face the Perils of the Long Night"
C3"I Pledge to Remember the Oath of Daylight"
C4"To Enshrine Tears, Life, and Love"
C5"Holding Dawn's Coming as My Votive"
C6"And So Shall I Never Despair"

C1: Gives Clorinde a good amount of extra talent damage. She will trigger this effect roughly once per N3E sequence. These coordinated attacks will also trigger Clorinde’s A1 passive effect, so the total amount of damage they provide is deceptively higher than they would give at first glance. Approximately a 10% tDPS increase most of the time.

C2: The ATK Cap doesn’t actually change. It was 3000 ATK at C0 and it stays 3000 ATK with this Constelation. It does serve as a decent increase, but isn’t a particularly notable C2 increase compared to modern ones. About a 10% team DMG increase from C1.

C3: Since so much of Clorinde’s damage comes from her Ascension 1 Passive, the extra talent levels aren’t as useful on her as on many other characters. About a 3-5% team DPS increase.

C4: Clorinde’s Burst is already typically worth using, and this Constellation makes it significantly stronger. Her previous Constellations don’t significantly increase its value, so this comes out to a 6-10% team DPS increase depending on the team, usually on the lower end.

C5: Burst talent levels are quite negligible, even with C4.

C6: A very powerful C6, providing an increase comparable to some of the less strong modern Constellation 6s. Due to Clorinde’s relatively weaker cons prior to this one, her overall Constellation level is not as good as said modern ones though. It is a fairly straightforward “deal more damage Constellation”, giving a lot of CV and a lot of extra talent damage.
