Overview
Chasca is a Charged Attack carry. She has a special Charged Attack that she can access by using her Elemental Skill
Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt to enter her Nightsoul’s Blessing state. This special CA will load 6 Elemental Bullets that are largely based on the Elemental Types of Chasca’s Teammates, with each unique PHEC type making her do more damage and use more Elemental Bullets more consistently, at least at C0.
Chasca’s gameplay itself is generally on the simpler side to execute, although optimizations certainly exist, particularly at C1+. At her simplest, Chasca can simply use her Elemental Skill and hold down the Charged Attack button until her Skill duration ends, occasionally using Burst. However, the mechanics of her Charged Attack can be on the complicated side.
Despite being a Charged Attack carry, none of Chasca’s MVs are in her Normal Attack talent. She doesn’t use her regular NAs or CAs, and her important talent values are in her Elemental Skill talent.
Elemental Skill and Nightsoul's Blessing
Upon casting her Elemental Skill, Chasca will start riding her gun and enter her Nightsoul’s Blessing state, dealing a small amount of Anemo DMG around her in the process. This Skill has a cooldown of 6.5 seconds that begins after Chasca exits this state, and Chasca will generate 5 Anemo Particles when she hits an enemy while in this state.
On cast, Chasca will gain 80 Nightsoul Points. Dashing will consume a large number of Nightsoul and should be avoided. While in this state, Chasca will consume 8 Nightsoul per second, giving her Elemental Skill a maximum of 10 seconds of uptime.
Elemental Bullets
Chasca’s Normal Attacks will become shotgun shots infused with Anemo. These are weak and not worth using. Chasca’s Charged Attack will become ‘Multitarget Fire’. While holding this Charged Attack, Chasca will load ‘Shadowhunt Shells’, up to 6, based on the Elements of her teammates. 2 of these will always be regular Anemo Shadowhunt Shells at C0, whereas 4 will become Shining Shadowhunt Shells of the other Elements.
Shining Shadowhunt Shells deal significantly more damage than regular Shadowhunt Shells. Chasca does not deal a lot of Anemo DMG; her damage is primarily PHEC, depending on the Elemental makeup of the team and Reactions triggered.
There will be at least 1 Bullet of each Elemental makeup. Each PHEC unit will directly convert into 1 Elemental Bullet of the type, so Chasca is guaranteed to convert 3 Shells with 3 PHEC units.
Bullet loading mechanics & PHEC team makeup
Through her Ascension 1 passive: if she’s using 3 different PHEC Elements, Chasca will always convert 1 more Shell into a random Elemental type, with equal chance for all 3 types. If there are 2 PHEC Elements in the team, this becomes a ⅔ chance to load a 4th Shining Shell, still with an equal chance to be either of the 2 types. With 1 PHEC element, this chance becomes only ⅓. The last scenario is not a useful one, and Chasca will generally use either 3 or 2 PHEC Elements in her team; her best tend to be 2 PHEC teams.
C1 lets Chasca load a 5th Shining Shell, and she will also make it so the aforementioned 4th Shining Shell will always be loaded with 2 PHEC Elements in the team.
Additionally with this passive, the number of Elemental Types present in the team will buff Chasca’s damage by 15% / 35% / 65% based on the number of Elemental types present in the team, corresponding to 1 / 2/ 3 different Elements. The Shadowhunt Shells deal damage considered both Nightsoul and Charged Attack damage, and also deal damage of the corresponding Element.
At C0: if Chasca is using 2 Pyro units and 1 Electro unit, 2 Bullets will always be Pyro and 1 will always be Electro, whereas the 4th converted Shell will be randomly either Pyro or Electro (assuming a 4th Shining Shell load). With 3 different PHEC units, Chasca will get 1 Shell of each Element, whereas the 4th (which will always load) will be a random Shell of one of those Elements.
Elemental Burst
Soul Reaper's Fatal Round has an Energy cost of 60 and a cooldown of 15 seconds. Chasca will fire 6 different Elemental Bullets, and for every PHEC teammate, 2 out of 6 will become one of the PHEC types in the team, chosen randomly and at an equal chance. This Burst does not have a ‘unique PHEC’ conditional, so any team with any 3 PHEC units will always make the Burst Bullets be of a PHEC type. This Burst does decent damage, but not enough to be worth building any Energy Recharge for. Use it at the end of Chasca’s Elemental Skill uptime wherever available.
