Endgame Guide: Drone Marksman / Others: All Guides

Level 1 - 39

The main objective of this start section is to level as fast as possible to Level 30 where Gunner Drone becomes available and particularly Level 40 where the C.Y.C.L.O.P.S Variant becomes available and is where the build really starts to come online.

To start with Frag Grenade is used in combination with Vault to deal decent Area of Effect Damage and grant decent Mobility.

At Level 1 you will want to allocate your Skill Point into Frag Grenade before allocating your second point into Vault. From Level 3 onwards you will focus on maxing out Frag Grenade taking 1 point in B.E.A.C.O.N when it becomes available at Level 8.

Once you reach Level 30 pick up Gunner Drone and Cannon Turret along the way to complete your arsenal in preparation for the Level 40 swap.

In terms of Sub Skill Allocation you will mostly focus on Frag Grenade and Vault during this section allocating a point every 5 Levels.

For Frag Grenade focus on raising Shrapnel and Fragging Penetration for increased AoE and Damage.

For Vault focus on raising Forest Parkour for increased distance and allocate 1 point into High Leap to allow traversing over Hard Terrain.

Level 40 - 100

Once you have reached Level 40 the build really starts to come online due to gaining access to the Sub Skill Variants particularly C.Y.C.L.O.P.S within Gunner Drone.

At this point we swap focus on maxing out Gunner Drone and all skills that synergise with this finishing off with any passives that benefit our build.

Gunner Drone scales off ranks in Master Mechanic, Frag Grenade and Homing Missile so we max all of these out allocating our left over points into Turret Mastery for a little extra damage for our Drones.

As for Sub Skill Tree Allocation you will want to max out C.Y.C.L.O.P.S each time a new rank becomes available at Level 40, 70 and 100. Beyond this the focus is mostly on Multitude which adds more Drones multiplying the damage for each drone available and Heat Unit which multiplies the Gunner Drone skill damage.

Throughout the levelling journey it is likely you will want to continue using Frag Grenade to back up Gunner Drone against harder targets before gaining access to the Incarnation Tree later down the line.

The focus for Frag Grenade is to max out Grenadier for huge AoE Damage as well as maxing out Shrapnel, Fragging Penetration and Increased potency.

Cannon Turret is a bit of a hidden gem on this build as at Level 40 you gain access to Weakening Blast which causes all enemies affected by Cannon Turret Projectiles to take more damage. This is particularly helpful against bosses.

It goes without saying we max out Weakening Blast when possible as well as maxing out Landing Spot for increased AoE and Doom Ball for a chance for even more impact size.

Finally we continue to invest in Vault as our main Mobility Skill.

It doesn't really matter what variant is taken for Vault as the most important thing here for this build is the ability to move further in distance via maxing Forest Parkour and having 1 point in High Leap to allow traversing over Hard Terrain.

B.E.A.C.O.N is taken to boost the damage of all Arcane Skills including Gunner Drone and Frag Grenade whilst you are standing within it's area which is particularly useful against tougher targets.

Use Master Mechanic to boost the damage of Gunner Drone for a period. This will require a very large amount of Skill Haste in order to keep it up with 100% uptime so to begin with it is used for a burst of damage against tougher targets.

Attributes

For your attributes you're going to spread your points across Intelligence and Vitality depending on your needs at the time.

A general rule of thumb is to put more points into Intelligence since that scales your Skill Damage and put in as many points into Vitality as you require to keep your Health Pool high enough to stay alive.

A starter recommendation is do follow a rough ratio of 3:1 in favour of Intelligence so at Level 100 consider by starting with the following ratio:

  • Intelligence: 300
  • Vitality: 100

Desired Stats

During the levelling process there are a few Desired Stats that you will really want to try focus on stacking to make the levelling process as smooth as possible.

These include:

  • All Skills
  • Arcane Skills
  • All Resistances
  • Movement Speed
  • All Attributes
  • Intelligence
  • Magic Damage
  • Arcane Damage
  • Life

Gear & Charms

Overview

This build has two stages to it during the levelling phase:

  • Frag Grenade (level 1 - 39)
  • Gunner Drone Variant (Level 40 - 100)

Neither of these variants are gear dependant and because they are both Arcane Damage oriented any gear you find along the way that works for Frag Grenade to start with will transition nicely to work with Gunner Drone after you reach Level 40 and gain access to the Skill Variants.

Below are some gear recommendations for both stages of the levelling process if you are lucky enough to come across them or are able to purchase any of them from the Auction House if you are not playing Solo Self Found:

This Loot Filter is designed to be less strict than usual as you will likely want to equip the best of what you find during the initial campaign run.

Incase you aren't able to copy the code from the Google Drive Doc here is a screenshot of how it is setup.
