Use your favourite features in-game with our Desktop AppHow to Fish has 28 Steam achievements. Many unlock naturally while completing the five islands, but others require rare creatures, trick shots, gambling or unusual challenges.
This guide explains how to unlock every achievement and the best order to complete them.

Start by completing the main story normally. This will unlock every story achievement while giving you the equipment and access needed for the harder challenges.
After the ending, you can continue playing on the same save and revisit every island. Use this time to finish the Killscore, cooking, gambling and collection achievements.
Bean should be completed separately on a new save because it requires you to finish the entire game within one hour.
Kill your first creature. This will unlock naturally after catching and defeating any creature near the Lighthouse.
Purchase the Beer and give it to the Lighthouse Keeper. Use the Empty Beer Can he returns to summon the Spider Crab, then defeat it and bring its Shell back to him.
Collect three Leeches on the Forest Island and give them to the woman beside the lake. Use the Modified Leech to summon the Giant Piranha, then return its Skeleton to her.
Catch an endangered creature on the Desert Island and give it to the Tourist. Needlefish, Bowlfish and Seahorse can all be used to complete his request.
Catch the Tuna using the Professional Boss Lure and leave its body on the Rocks Island to attract the Albatross. Defeat the bird and return its Head to the islander.
Complete the scientist’s quest on Volcano Island and defeat the Mutated Bowhead Whale. This is the final boss rather than the regular Bowhead Whale used to summon it.
After defeating the Mutated Bowhead Whale, return its Fin to the scientist and collect the RHIB keys. Enter the military boat and use the steering wheel to trigger the ending.

Kill a creature without receiving any Killscore multiplier.
Place a normal creature on the ground and use several ordinary body shots to defeat it. Avoid headshots, trick shots, airborne kills, one-shot kills and firing the final bullet in your magazine.
Reach a 5x Killscore multiplier from a single kill.
A reliable method is to shoot a flying seagull in the head from a distance without aiming down sights. Use a powerful weapon with a Laser Sight so you can combine bonuses such as Headshot, Fly Fishing, No Scope, One Shot One Kill and Overkill.
If this does not reach 5x, add another condition such as performing a 360 before firing.
Weaken a normal creature until one more shot will defeat it. Complete a full 360-degree turn and fire the killing shot without aiming down sights.
Use a weak creature and a powerful weapon such as the Sniper Rifle or Shotgun to make the final shot easier.
Purchase your first boat engine upgrade on the Forest Island. It costs $230 and makes travelling between islands faster.
Purchase the Dual Motors for $860 on the Rocks Island. This is the best boat engine available.
Fill every attachment slot on a single weapon. You need an Extended Magazine, Laser Sight, one optic and one muzzle attachment equipped at the same time.
The Red Dot Sight and Sniper Scope share the optic slot, while the Compensator and Suppressor share the muzzle slot. You do not need to equip every attachment in the game.

Reach the Desert Island and speak to the Grill master. Purchase the Standard Boss Lure, catch the Blue Shark and return it to him to unlock and start the Grill.
Leave a creature over the Grill until it becomes completely burnt. Its cooking multiplier will fall to zero and its body will turn black.
Pick up the burnt creature and eat it to unlock the achievement.
Catch and defeat any optional mini-boss using a Boss Lure, then eat its body.
You can unlock this alongside Yummy in my tummy by burning the mini-boss completely before eating it.

Catch a rare Drip creature and insert it into a Reel of Fortune machine. Each Drip creature provides one spin and rewards a random cosmetic.
Continue using Drip creatures until you receive a Legendary skin. The reward is random, so this may require several attempts.

Place an item on green at one of the roulette tables and win the spin.
Green is much less likely to land than red or black, so use replaceable fish rather than boss drops or important quest items.
Sell a single item worth at least $100,000. You do not need to hold $100,000 in your wallet at once.
Catch a valuable creature using the Scientific Lure and cook it in the Volcano Island’s lava. The safest method is to start with an item worth at least $2,858 after cooking, then bet it on green at roulette.
Winning on green multiplies its value enough to pass $100,000. Inspect the item before selling it to make sure its final value meets the requirement.

Allow a seagull to pick you up.
The easiest method is to die and ignore the respawn option. Leave your body on the ground and wait until a seagull flies down and carries you away.
Purchase Dynamite after reaching the Forest Island and place it beneath or directly beside your boat.
Move away and detonate the Dynamite. The explosion should launch the boat into the air and unlock the achievement. You do not need the best engine for this method.
Place a fish on the ground to attract a seagull, then leave a stick of Dynamite beside it.
Move to a safe distance and wait for a seagull to approach the fish. Shoot the Dynamite to detonate it while the bird is within the explosion.
Find and kill your first Drip creature.
Drip creatures are rare versions of normal catches and can be identified by their unusual appearance and rainbow-coloured name. They appear randomly while using ordinary lures.
Find and kill all 49 creatures in How to Fish.
Open the encyclopedia using Tab to see which entries you are missing. This includes regular creatures, optional mini-bosses and the main story bosses.
The equipped lure determines which normal creatures you can catch, so work through every lure and boss lure until the encyclopedia is complete.

Find and kill the Drip version of every creature shown in the encyclopedia.
Use the same lure required for each creature and continue fishing until its rare Drip version appears. Release ordinary catches back into the water when possible so you can quickly cycle through more creatures.
The old bug that required players to catch an additional Drip creature after completing the collection has been fixed. The achievement should now unlock after killing the final missing Drip entry.
Defeat any boss within ten seconds.
Complete the story first, then return to the Lighthouse with a powerful upgraded weapon. Summon the Spider Crab using another Empty Beer Can and begin firing as soon as it appears.
The Spider Crab has much less health than the later bosses, making it the easiest target for this achievement.
Defeat the Mutated Bowhead Whale with your bare hands.
You can use weapons for most of the battle. Reduce the final boss to very low health using your strongest gun, then stop firing, switch to your empty hands and deliver the killing blow with a punch.
Brass Knuckles do not count as bare hands. The player attempting the achievement should make sure they land the final hit.
Finish the entire game within one hour.
Start a new save on Easy difficulty and focus only on the objectives needed to unlock each island. Avoid gambling, optional mini-bosses, cosmetic hunting and unnecessary upgrades.
Remember that defeating the Mutated Bowhead Whale is not the end of the run. You still need to return its Fin, collect the RHIB keys and activate the military boat before the hour expires.
