How to Farm Magic Echo Shards in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave

Updated on Oct 9, 2026

Overview

Farming new characters and gathering sought-after resources in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave can be time-consuming and tedious, especially if you’re running out of turns or have wasted some early on. Luckily, there is a method to gain a ton of EXP quickly and also farm Magic Echo Shards. In this method, we'll use Dietrich thanks to Answerer’s Cry, and this method can be used in the early, mid and late game in Act 1 and 2.

This guide was made possible with help from Mattjestic, who gave us permission to use their guide. Check out the video on the side for a more comprehensive breakdown.

How to Farm EXP and Magic Echo Shards

First, you will need to find the highest-level monster spawn points in Act 1. This is usually level 35. Move to a position on the map (like the one below) and use Answerer’s Cry in an area that covers multiple icons so a monster can potentially spawn in multiple locations.

Answerers Cry

Attack the monsters, set your team to Auto-Battle, then Charge so they do the round. You'll beat the monsters, gain a lot of EXP, and also drop Magic Echo Shards. Do this during downtime between important tasks. This lets you earn 10 Echo Shards per enemy kill, and 50 to 60 per round. Mummy Horde is the best in terms of reward drops.

You can use God abilities and life recovery to make this even quicker and safer.

After finishing the farming session, go to a nearby dungeon to reset and recover, and refill Ancestor’s Call. Head to the Rest point in the dungeon to regenerate your missing HP on your characters. This will allow you to keep using the same characters in the upcoming turns.

Repeating this over and over again is the quickest and most effective way to farm Magic Echo Shards.

Settings

To wrap up this guide, let’s go over the settings to speed up progress. Turn off all the Combat Animations: Attack, Assist and Overblaze Animations. Then turn ON Animation Skip (at the bottom of the Battle Tab, under Other). This will let you farm monsters, get loot, and repeat the method over and over again!
