Intro

Build 1 (Full Tank) - 0 rng build

This build is designed to ensure that enemies focus solely on you, while also providing options for self-sustaining healing, increased health and stamina, and a slight damage boost on guard counters. These enhancements make the Guardian an absolute powerhouse class, capable of leading any team to victory behind them.

Build 2 (Tank with Debuffs) - Requires a bit of rng

With this build, the goal is similar to Build 1: to ensure that enemies target you exclusively while giving yourself a few options for self-sustain, healing, and increased health. This comes at the slight cost of stamina, guard counter damage, and health recovery on thrusting counterattacks, in exchange for a powerful frostbite debuff that grants your teammates a 20% damage increase against the affected target for the next 30 seconds.

Equipment Loadout

Build 1 (Full Tank - Armaments)

Any weapon that allows you to guard while attacking from behind the shield will always be one of your best options here, as it provides reliable damage output while keeping you safely behind cover

Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear Dragon Halberd Nightrider Glaive Rotten Crystal Spear (just for scarlet rot procs) Commander's Standard (Good for solid damage and gives out a buff to teammates increasing their armor and damage)

If you can't locate any of these weapons, make sure to keep an eye out for the best spear, halberd, or greatspear you can find or at least focus on upgrading your starting halberd to +2 by finding a Smithing Stone [1] which can be bought from merchants and Smithing Stone (2) from the mines if you can't find anything in the entire run.

Build 2 (Debuff Tank - Armaments)

Try your best to keep your starting weapon and upgrade it to the maximum as quickly as possible to maximize damage while maintaining your frostbite status with the Chilling Mist armament skill, which applies a damage resistance debuff to enemies, helping your teammates defeat them faster. You can also switch to other spears, halberds, or greatspears if you find it necessary, such asCommander's Standard This will still provide your teammates with a buff instead of applying a debuff to enemies, which is also a viable option Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear If you find it during the run and want to take advantage of its higher damage and constant bleed procs, switching to it is also a fair choice

(Both Builds - Shields)

Brass Shield Fingerprint Stone Shield Erdtree Greatshield Crucible Hornshield These are all great options for high guard boost defensive shields. However, if none of them are available, keep an eye out for any other shield with a high guard boost ideally 70 or higher. If you can't find one, make sure to upgrade your default shield to +2 as soon as possible.

Game Plan and Pathing

Day 1

During Day 1 Your mainly just going to want to get as high level as possible your role as a tank is primarily to soak up attention and damage from enemies so just lead the push for your team or follow them around and make sure to be the first to get the enemy's attention in every combat situation and keep an eye out for any relevant dormant powers, direct weapon upgrades, talisman or important weapon passives.

Day 2

Prioritize leveling up quickly to reach level 15 while tanking for your DPS and support teammates. Continue leading the charge and stock up on consumables such as Warming Stone ,Boiled Prawn Boiled Crab

Day 3

This is the day when you’re the most essential. Nightlords are the game’s toughest enemies, and everything builds up to this moment. As soon as each fight starts, make sure to grab the Nightlords’ attention quickly to prevent your DPS from becoming the primary targets. This way, they can deal as much damage as possible while you keep the bosses focused on you.
