Fulghor Expedition Executor Build

Intro

Executor is a great character, especially if you play solo. He has a ton of weapon options, but mainly wants to run katanas. Unfortunately, Fulghor is weak to lightning, and there aren't katanas that deal lightning damage unless you get lucky and find one. Fulghor takes extra damage from lightning damage, and you can interrupt an attack that powers him up; this is very important.

Alternatives

Rivers Of Blood still is the best katana for killing bosses, but for Fulghor specifically, we want a weapon that deals lightning damage. The alternatives are great weapons if you don't find a Rivers Of Blood or lightning damage weapon.

Talismans

Best-in-slot

  • Winged Sword Insignia
  • Warrior Jar Shard
  • Dagger Talisman

Winged Sword Insignia is by far the best talisman for wielding with katanas because they are fast-attacking weapons. Warrior Jar Shard works great with lightning weapon arts, while the dagger talisman just works well if you are good at parrying.

Alternatives

  • Lord of Blood's Exultation
  • Erdtree's Favor
  • Haligdrake Talisman

Consumables

Best-in-slot

  • Boiled Crab / Boiled Prawn
  • Greenburst Crystal Tear / Greenspill Crystal Tear
  • Pickled Turtle Neck
  • Lightning Grease / Lightning Pot

Dormant Powers, Passives, and Relics

  • Improved Stance-Breaking

Alternatives

  • Improved Stamina Recovery
  • Improved Physical Damage Negation
  • FP Restoration upon Successive Attacks

Relics

Best-in-slot

For the best results, we will use Executor’s default chalice

Game Plan and Pathing

Day 1

The Executor’s strength depends on whether you can deflect. If you are good, the early game becomes a lot easier because you can easily stance break bosses. Aim to hit level 2-3 before going anywhere, after which we want to find a Cathedral, Fort, or Encampment.

We aim to kill the bosses there to reach level 6. After this, we can either kill some world bosses or go into the mines if you have a weapon you want to upgrade. If you see a Settlement on the map, go there once you acquire some runes. Settlements have a shopkeeper who sells a ton of good stuff, including epic weapons, which we need for our run. Try to reach level 8 by the end of the day.

Day 2

On day 2, what we do depends on our Shifting Earth event. If there is none, go kill field bosses and head towards the central castle. If you are lucky, the central castle will be filled with Crucible Knights, which drop the most runes. I recommend not doing the central castle if there are Trolls because they can throw their pots all over the castle, and it's very easy to die.

After clearing the castle, kill the boss on the top floor for a high chance of a legendary weapon, and the bottom boss for a guaranteed choice of a talisman.

If we have Noklateo or the Crater, you can opt to do those instead and rush them because they tend to take a long time. While going places, keep in mind to kill Field Bosses for their runes and good rewards. Aim for a minimum of level 13.

Day 3

For this guide, we are fighting Fulghor, so next are some tips for his encounter.

If we have a lightning weapon, watch out for his stab attack where he aims his spear into the floor to stab it. You can cancel this attack with lightning damage, if you don’t have any, run away instead. Once the attack hits, a ton of holy spears fall to the ground, dealing massive damage and becoming very hard to dodge.

In phase 2, it's better to run away from attacks unless you are comfortable with deflecting all of them. His attacks in phase 2 tend to be chaotic, so it's best to get behind Fulghor so that you can immediately attack him after his attacks finish.

Additional Tips

  • The Executor works best when you can deflect attacks consistently; if you cannot, he becomes a lot worse.
  • Be sure to use consumables that you can find easily, and don’t want a run to end because you were greedy with consumables.
  • If you are playing with 3 people, your ultimate is a great tool to resurrect your entire team while also doing good damage. Keep in mind that it does make you a big target.
  • The Executor has the best Dexterity scaling in the game, that being S rank. If you find other good dexterity weapons, don’t be afraid to use them.
