Build Overview

The Whirlwind Barbarian is a timeless classic in ARPGs. The Spin-To-Win playstyle is easy to master, powerful, fast and satisfying. Become an endlessly spinning blender, shooting Tornadoes all over the screen, decimating everything in your path. If you like zooming through content holding one button while smashing your Cooldowns to increase your power, this is the build for you.

Make sure to equip a pet in your wardrobe to help pick up gold and items. Don't forget to hire a Mercenary in "The Den" as soon as possible to start leveling them up and get their benefits.

Gear & Stats

It's unlikely to find many of these Legendary Aspects while leveling up. Still, anything you can get that either increases Whirlwind damage, or gives you more Fury, is godly. Focus more on just equipping upgrades as you go and if you find any of the above Aspects rejoice in your new found power. Check the gear in the planner to see stats to look out for.

Tempering

1. Anything for Whirlwind / Dust Devils / Physical Damage.

2. Anything for more Resources.

3. Movement Speed.

Runewords

Cir + Gar provides tons of Critical Hit Chance that works great on almost any build. I'd avoid putting this Runeword in gear super early as you'll wish you had it once you reach level 70 and have 850 item power gear.

Igni+ Ceh is a great way to apply Vulnerable to enemies (especially Elites and Bosses).

Kel, Kry, Que & Eom are also great options if you find any of these Runes along the way.

Talisman

Leveling up you'll be lucky to Find a Rare Seal at best, look out for Damage, Critical Hit Chance or Critical Hit Damage.

Charm

Look out for Set Charms and if you can get a 2 or 3 piece bonus you'll want to put it on. Look for the following stats on Charms:

Technique

While leveling up, use whatever 2-Hander does more damage for your Whirlwind. Since we cannot give up the 2H Mace Power under any circumstances, combined with the fact that I'm too lazy to keep switching it while leveling it up, I just leave it as my technique slot the whole time : ).

Rotation

Use Lunging Strike, Charge & Rallying Cry to move between packs of mobs quickly. Rallying Cry also is a great way to restore your Fury, It's best used while you're channeling Whirlwind so you can zip around faster and keep it going.
Channel Whirlwind whenever there are multiple enemies around to delete them quickly.
Use Ground Stomp to gather a group up on you.
Call of the Ancients is for killing bosses fast or big packs with Elites.

Mercenaries

Subo gives you Map Hack, Movement Speed and applies Vulnerability.

Aldkin provides you with 20% damage reduction when standing in his Field of languish. You need to level him up a bit to unlock this skill. Start off with Haunt until it's available.
