Build Variants
This build has three different variants:
Each of these variants uses a different combination of gear, skills, Legendary Aspects, and Mercenaries, so make sure you're following the setup for the specific variant you're using.
- DPS Pit Push – Designed for pushing the highest Pit and Tower tiers.
- Speed / General Content – Recommended for all general content, including Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, Infernal Hordes, and other farming activities. This version offers much better survivability and movement speed, and you simply don't need the extra damage from the Pit Push setup for regular content.
- Bossing – Built specifically for bosses. This setup swaps a weapon and a ring to provide much higher burst damage, since bosses take longer to stagger.
Each of these variants also has a Mythic Seal and Non-Mythic Seal version.
If you have a Mythic Seal, I recommend using the Mythic Seal version of the build, as it provides better overall performance and makes the build smoother to play. However, Mythic Seals are extremely rare and can take a long time to obtain, so I've also included Non-Mythic Seal versions that perform very well and are much more accessible.
For some players, the Non-Mythic Seal setup will be the version you'll use until you're lucky enough to find a Mythic Seal.
How to Constantly Cast Rain of Arrows
This build is very gear dependent. I don't recommend using it while leveling because it requires several key Legendary Aspects and specific gear before it feels smooth. Without them, the build can feel very clunky.
Personally, I leveled using a Dance of Knives build before switching to Rain of Arrows once I had the required gear.
To constantly cast Rain of Arrows, you need two important things:
- Around 300 Maximum Resource
- Around 60% Cooldown Reduction on your character stats
Why You Need Maximum Resource
Your Specialization, Preparation, reduces the cooldown of your Ultimate every time you spend your Primary Resource. The more resource you have, the more cooldown you can remove after casting your Ultimate.
The best ways to increase your Maximum Resource are:
- Maximum Resource on your gear
- Masterworking those Resource affixes
- Maximum Resource from your Charms
Why Beastfall Boots Are Required
The build uses Beastfall Boots, which spend all of your Primary Resource whenever you cast an Ultimate Skill.
This instantly spends your entire resource pool, allowing Preparation to massively reduce the cooldown of Rain of Arrows.
Your goal is to reduce Rain of Arrows to under a 20-second cooldown. Once you reach that point, Preparation will reduce enough cooldown after every cast that you can continue casting Rain of Arrows almost nonstop.
Getting Your Resource Back
After spending all of your Resource, you need a way to instantly refill it.
That's where Aspect of Aftermath comes in. This Legendary Aspect restores Resource whenever you cast your Ultimate, and the amount restored scales with the rank of your Ultimate Skill.
Because of this, you'll want roughly 25 ranks in Rain of Arrows so that Aspect of Aftermath restores enough Resource to completely refill your Resource pool after every cast.
You can gain Ultimate Skill ranks from:
- Your Charms
- Your Amulet
- The Zan + Vex Rune combination
Getting enough Ultimate ranks is just as important as reaching the Resource requirement.
Charm Priority
Your first priority should always be reaching 300 Maximum Resource.
Get Maximum Resource on your Charms first. Once you've reached that threshold, you can start replacing Resource with Marksman Skill Ranks, which also increase the level of Rain of Arrows.
If You Can't Constantly Cast Rain of Arrows Yet
If you're still missing some Cooldown Reduction or Maximum Resource, there are a couple of ways to make the build work until your gear improves.
Option 1: Take the Cooldown Modifier
Instead of using the Double Damage Rain of Arrows modifier, switch to the Cooldown Reduction modifier.
This significantly lowers the cooldown of Rain of Arrows, making it much easier to maintain permanent casts. The downside is that you'll lose a considerable amount of damage.
Option 2: Use a Mythic Seal
If you're using a Mythic Seal, you can make the rotation much more forgiving.
For your second Charm Set, use the Legacy of the Sightless Charm Set.
This Charm Set reduces the cooldown of your Ultimate whenever you cast Concealment, and casting Rain of Arrows immediately resets the cooldown of Concealment.
This creates a simple rotation:
Concealment → Rain of Arrows → Concealment → Rain of Arrows
Even if you're short on Cooldown Reduction, this setup allows you to keep Rain of Arrows available much more consistently until your gear is fully optimized.
Once you've reached around 300 Maximum Resource, 60% Cooldown Reduction, enough Ultimate Skill ranks, and have all of the required gear and Legendary Aspects, you'll be able to cast Rain of Arrows almost continuously, turning the build into one of the smoothest and strongest Rogue builds for endgame content.
