Build Overview

Have you ever wanted to combine the wild spin-to-win mechanics of a Barbarian with the Holy Light of a PALADIN!?

Well combining the Red Sermon with Zeal and Cull the Wicked , we get just that! Layer in the Talisman Set and you'll be melting entire rooms in no time. Support the build further with Fanaticism Aura, Consecration, Defiance Aura and Falling Star for more fun!

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Zealadin is a fresh take on the Paladin
  • Tons of awesome spin-to-win Crits
  • Very active playstyle
  • Highly mobile
  • Pushes T9 or 10 with minimal min/maxing
  • It's off-meta, so it requires a lot of building
  • Easy to accidentally stand "in the bad," because it's harder to see
  • Pushing beyond Torment 9 or 10 requires fine-tuning your gear & Paragon board

Build Variants

Use this variant when you're hitting Torment 1+ and you have access to the Red Sermon!

Equipment Priority
+9

Red Sermon is your highest priority item in this entire list. You Need it. It's entirely dependent on it.

For your gear, you'll want to focus on these modifiers:

  • + Critical Hit Chance (You want 30-40% unmodified - as in without attacking, should get you to 100)
  • + Critical Hit Damage Multiplier
  • + Attack Speed (You want to try to hit 100% when you're attacking stuff so that Preacher gives you 65% Damage)
  • + Life
  • + Life on Hit - Crucial for survivability
  • + Armor
  • + Resistances as needed

Talisman Priority
+7

Prioritize this set immediately as it will unlock your true damage potential in the build.

Our Seal can be ANYTHING with a +1 Charm Slot.

For Uniques, you have two choices:

  • Griswold's Opus gives us a lot of great damage and is pretty easy to farm up, go here if you feel you're behind that curve
  • Endurant Faith gives us a ton of sustain so use this if you're getting beat up too much
  • Sundered Night is another damage unique you can use as well focused more on your auras! This isn't as strong of a spike as Opus, but it's still fun

Zenith & Falling Star are "wild" as in you can swap them for any skills you like. As I've said in my video, I KNOW Arbiter of Justice is probably better, but I find it overdone and I just want to be a Zealadin!

Rally will not go on our bar. It's being activated by our Talismans so put points in it and just let it ride!

Paragon Board

The focus for these Glyphs is to derive more damage from what we are already doing. It's dealer's choice as to which ones are the best priority for you, but swap in Undauntedwhenever you feel like you need more Damage Resistance

  • Spirit - Simply amps up our already existent critical strike damage, while also making enemies take up to 15% MORE Crit damage.
  • Chip - Just like Spirit, this will amplify our Physical damage and since ALL Zealot abilities - namely Zeal - are physical, this helps us a ton.
  • Feverous - This will become a 20% flat damage increase when we have max stacks of Fervor (4). So this becomes a nice power spike, but not as good as the first two.
  • Undaunted - Our only "Defensive" glyph by weaponizing Fortify further, but giving us 15% DR WHILE Fortified as well.
  • Outmatch - Similar to Chip, this will help increase our Physical damage, but remember it only applies to non-elites and Bosses. So Bosses of course will help and chaff, but not any of those elites.

Mercenaries

We just want the free Attack Speed that Varyna gives us, and also the 20% DR that you get from Field of Languish that Aldkin will use. I usually have this in line with my Falling Star since it generally puts me in harms way immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Simply put, you'll hold Zeal down to destroy everything around you.

Once you level up far enough, you won't need a spender, so you can drop that.

Falling Star is a movement and alpha striking ability that I like to use when I'm surrounded/want to move faster through dungeons

Consecration will give us some healing, but mainly it'll help turn on our damage for higher damage situations like bossing.

Fanaticism Aura & Defiance Aura are going to act as ways to immediately Weaken OR grant Unhindered. Both auras will grant us DR, Health, Armor, Resistances, Fortify, Attack Speed, and Critical Chance. These are crucial.

Zenith also provides us a means of mobility like Falling Star, but when we get all of our Set items, it will additionally provide AOE echoes like Zeal does.
