hetype, lots of Hellfire, explosions, and that satisfying “burn everything” feeling. If you like big fire damage and hate shadow stuff, this is the one for you. Let’s get into it.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Burst Damage
  • Epic to play
  • Very tanky
  • AOE could be bigger

Key Uniques for the Build

Tibault's Will is the most important item for this build. It regenerates resources, and without resources the build simply doesn’t function. Because you are Unstoppable during Destruction Demon Metamorphosis, it continuously procs Tibault's Will, keeping your resources topped up.

The second most important item is Flickerstep. Metamorphosis is both your main resource generator and your biggest damage multiplier. However, the longer you stay in Metamorphosis, the more damage it starts dealing to you. Eventually you’ll need to exit and use Flickerstep to reset the cooldown so you can re-enter Destruction Demon Metamorphosis safely.

The other two uniques, Anathema of the Primes and Moloch's Beating Flame, are not mandatory but are very strong additions. Anathema of the Primes in particular turns your Archdemon skills into Core Skills. This lets you spam them freely, turning them into your main mobility tools and giving the build significantly higher movement.

Drop Locations (Season 14)

  • Tibault's Will: General unique pool. Drops from any Lair Boss, open world enemies, chests, and Helltides. Can also be crafted in the Horadric Cube by upgrading ancestral pants.
  • Flickerstep: General unique pool. Drops from open world, chests, Helltides, and Lair Bosses. Can be crafted in the Horadric Cube.
  • Anathema of the Primes: Target farmable from Andariel (Maiden of Anguish) at Hanged Man’s Hall in eastern Kehjistan (near Tarsarak waypoint). Requires a Greater Lair Key.
  • Moloch's Beating Flame: Target farmable from The Butcher. Can also be obtained through Horadric Cube transmutation using the appropriate boss trophies.

I opted to run with the Beru of Abaddon's Flesh, set charm, which increases our damage but also increases our life. At the same time, the last passive set allows us to leave Metamorphosis form and still benefit from the buffs in case our HP gets drained too heavily.

For stats: Using maximum life and Hellfire skills ranks is a no-brainer in this build. Since we need to stack HP to increase our damage, that choice was pretty easy.

Skill Rotation

Here’s how each skill functions in the build:

  1. Blazing Scream is your primary damage skill. It bounces off walls, so positioning the boss between you and a wall lets you hit it multiple times with a single cast.
  2. Endless Barrage Bombardment acts as a constant buff rather than an active skill. You can stack it up to five times, allowing demons to spawn and continuously bombard enemies without needing to press the button repeatedly.
  3. Demonic Smash Rampage is your main mobility skill. With Anathema of the Primes equipped, it becomes a Core Skill that costs Wrath.
  4. Tortured Wretch is your defensive skill. It absorbs damage and provides fortify.
  5. Sigil of Chaos activates your charm and empowers all of your skills. It also makes you Volatile for 10 seconds, even after you leave the sigil’s area.
  6. Destruction Demon Metamorphosis is your main damage multiplier. It turns your skills into Volatile skills at all times, grants Unstoppable (which procs Tibault's Will for constant resource generation), and the longer you stay in the form, the more damage you deal.

Paragon Board

Glyphs & Paragon

For glyphs and Paragon, you can take any legendary nodes that increase your damage.

Don’t spend too much time trying to fully complete one board. Just prioritize grabbing your legendary nodes first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What items are necessary for the build to function?

A: Tibault's Willl is essential because it regenerates your resources. Without it, the build struggles to function. If you want strong mobility, Anathema of the Primes is highly recommended. For high Destruction Demon Metamorphosis uptime (your main damage multiplier), Flickerstep is also a core piece. These three items make the build significantly more viable.

Q: Why can’t I sustain my Metamorphosis?

A: This usually happens for one of two reasons. Either you’re missing Life on Hit on your weapon, or you’re staying in Destruction Demon Metamorphosis for too long without properly managing the self-damage.

Q: I’m dying a lot. What am I doing wrong?

A: There are a few common issues. Your resistances might be too low, or you may not be using Tortured Wretch when engaging elites to absorb damage and fortify. Keep in mind that Warlock is naturally a high-damage, squishy class, so it isn’t very tanky to begin with.

Q: I don’t have many Paragon points yet. What should I prioritize?

A: Focus on rushing all the legendary nodes first and skip the glyphs for now. This lets you unlock the biggest power spikes from the Paragon board early. You can go back and fill in the glyphs once you have more points available.
