This build is very strong with minimal investment!

This Lightning Storm and Storm Strike build will clear the entire screen with insane AoE while dropping great DPS onto priority targets!

Important Notes

  • Prioritize Critical Strike Chance early since it will increase DPS, synergize with Critical Strike Damage, and allow for Wolves to activate the Attack Speed bonus more consistently.
  • Be sure to stack enough Resistances, Armor, Maximum Life, and misc Damage early. Flat damage such as Tempers are particularly strong early before many sources are added.

Stat Priorities

Offensive

  1. Critical Strike Chance (No more than 100%)
  2. Critical Strike Damage Multiplier (Main GA and Masterwork focus)
  3. Attack Speed (No more than 100% and factor in Wolves, Ferocity, and Varyana.)
  4. Vulnerable Damage Multiplier (Masterwork upgrade at least one with GA)
  5. Lightning/All Damage Multiplier (Masterwork upgrade at least one with GA)
  6. Skill Ranks
  7. Weapon Damage (Only on weapons)
  8. Willpower (Always prioritize on armor)

Defensive

  1. Maximum Life (You want this on all items unless you feel you can remove some and stay alive)
  2. Resistance (Get as much as you can without giving up Willpower or other important affixes)
  3. Armor (Be sure to have at least one affix on items minimum, but get as much as you can)

Utility

  1. Movement Speed (No more than 200%)
  2. Cooldown Reduction (Just enough to maintain Cataclysm 100% of the time)

Important Notes

  • You can use any applicable Unique Charm when you get one but the 5 piece set takes priority until you get a +1 Charm Slot affix on your seal.
  • The highest priority is getting the 2 piece Berú of the Storm Shepherd set.
  • Ranks to Nature Magic skills are ideal but you can also use Storm.
  • Use any useful stats early such as Movement Speed.

Important Notes

  • Storm Strike can be used for additional DPS and this gives Ferocity which frees up a Spirit Boon.
  • If you have the Great Storm Aspect as recommended then you can change Overload to Energize.
  • Claw can be used for increased mobility.
  • Debilitating Roar can be used for increased safety.
  • Poison Creeper is used for passive Fortify.
  • Cyclone Armor is used for passive survivability.
  • Wolves are used for passive Attack Speed.
  • Earthen Bulwark is used automatically with Que Rune. You can use it on the Skill Bar manually until you get the Rune instead of Wolves.

Skill Rotations

  1. Activate Cataclysm and maintain it as much as possible.
  2. Blow Spirit with Lightning Storm.
  3. Use Wind Shear to gain Movement Speed, Barrier, and Spirit.
  4. Spam Lightning Storm to kill everything.
  5. Poison Creeper's active can be used early for additional damage, but it falls off as you progress.

  • For complete Paragon Boards, pick an End-Game build from the list at the top of the page.
  • Prioritize getting all Legendary Nodes before all else. Example: Thunderstruck
  • Prioritize all Glyphs to level 25 before going higher unless you cannot equip the next Glyph yet.
  • Prioritize all Glyphs to level 50 before going higher on any.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why am I squishy?

A: Survivability is all about stacking multiple layers of damage mitigation and sustain. You want Maximum Life on every piece of gear because it prevents one shots and your Barrier from Earthen Bulwark scales with Maximum Life. The build has great healing built in, so focus on reducing damage taken by stacking All Elemental Resistances and Armor. The Gems on jewelry are very high value to prevent the worst types of damage. Be sure to make sure you get Damage Reduction items and Aspects as recommended in the guide or alternatives listed below them.
