How it Plays
- Cast
Arbiter of Justice off cooldown for
Aspect of Ascension and
Aspect of Celestial Strife Make sure you NEVER lose Arbiter form or you will lose massive damage from these aspects - Spam
Shield of Retribution - Cast
Clash to activate
Punishment, make sure to cast this at least once every 6 seconds to maintain this buff - Cast
Rally or any spell that isn't
Shield of Retribution every 3 casts, in order to maintain the
Ward of the White Dove double damage buff. You can track this on your buff bar, as the game will ALWAYS show the buff. Be aware that
Rally does cost life to cast, and can lower uptime on
Heavyweight passive if you are unable to stay above 80% HP - Cast
Aegis off cooldown for increased thorns damage - Cast
Clash to gain resolve if you are about to lose
Juggernaut buff and you are not at maximum resolve stacks
How it Works
Gameplay
- The hardest part of playing this build is making sure you maximize
Ward of the White Dove. This means after casting
Shield of Retribution 3 times, you need to cast ANY other spell to regain the buff.
Juggernaut Oath will only activate if you are at your maximum amount of resolve stacks, combined with
Mantle of the Grey this massively increases our damage. This buff lasts for 5 seconds, and we can maximize this uptime 2 different ways, depending on Solo play vs group play. In group play the support Paladin will run
Fortress, and as long as you stay inside it you will gain 4 resolve per second, and have no issues with
Juggernaut uptime. - For Solo play this is a little trickier, so we run resolve generated temper on 1 piece of gear, causing our
Clash to grant us up to 7 resolve per cast, meaning we just need to cast it 2 times every 5 seconds to maintain the Oath buff. You can use
Clash to gain
Ward of the White Dove buff and also gain resolve, helping us solve both problems at the same time
Shield of Retribution pulses damage after you throw it and then explodes at the end of its path for massive damage, however this ability is very short range and will require you to be very close to your enemies and keep them grouped tightly- Ranks to
Blessed Shield DO NOT increase the damage of
Shield of Retribution, this is why we do not run ranks on gloves or care about the ranks on
Ward of the White Dove
Crit Chance
Paladins are able to cap crit chance via
Fanaticism Aura and
Break the Line.
- The more ranks you have in
Fanaticism Aura, the higher your crit chance and attack speed will be. This number is multiplied by 4 as
Fanaticism Aura stacks a total of 4 times.
Example:
Fanaticism Aura with 1 rank is 2.0%. At 4 stacks, this gives 8.0% crit chance. At 5 ranks, it gives 2.8% per rank, or 11.2% crit chance.
Break the Line passive gives 2% crit chance per rank. Between using
Shroud of False Death and depending on how many ranks you have on your
Griswold's Opus, you can get up to 24% crit chance with 12 ranks (GA, Masterworked & 25 quality via Sanctification).
