Whirlwind

The Whirlwind Barbarian is insanely strong and fast. This planner will teach you how to put together all the gear, skills and paragon boards for this iconic skill. This planner will also help you solve all your Fury Management issues, explain aspects that may be a little confusing and cover what weapons to set your skills to. There are several variations in the planner so read through.

The Barbarians this season will all be running some variation of the Melted Heart of Selig + Endurant Faith or Endurant Faith. While this is not a requirement it does make you almost unkillable and the quality of life will go through the roof. Each planner will have variants without it, but this will be your end-game version you're striving for.

BUG NOTES 5/13/26 Post Patch

• There is currently a bug with Aspect of Anger Management overriding the damage from Battle-Mad Aspect so it has been changed on the planner for now. Earthstriker's Aspect has been moved to the boots slow and Aspect of Heavenly Strength will be on the pants until it's fixed.
• Crusher is currently not working for Two-handed Maces. Replace with Challenger
• Hellbent Commander Aspect is not currently giving damage to Rallying Cry Ancients replace with Vehement Brawler's Aspect
• Highlander Call of the Ancients is de-spawning all currently summoned Ancients. This still works for Whirlwind because we are only using Highlander Call of the Ancients to activate Attack Speed and Damage Bonus Call of the Ancients.

Arsenal Selection

For the Overpower variant, your Arsenal selection will be Two-handed Mace.

All variants other than Overpower will be running on a Dual wield set up for their Arsenal selection. You will need one One-handed Axe and one One-handed Sword. This will be selected for Whirlwind . This will allow you to take advantage of the Two-handed Polearm expertise. We are running Ambidextrous and Cleaver in the paragon board which is why we run this set up.

• Cast Rallying Cry
• Hold down Whirlwind
• Use War Cry, Challenging Shout and Call of the Ancients at the same time
• Cast War Cry and Challenging Shout on cooldown
• Cast Call of the Ancients every 6 seconds
• Use Iron Skin as needed for Unstoppable

Overpower Rotation

• Cast Whirlwind
• Cast Rallying Cry
• Use War Cry and Challenging Shout on packs of monsters or bosses
• Cast Call of the Ancients once every 6 seconds

Build Overview

This build runs relies on Rallying Cry to give us insane amounts of movement speed and Fury Generation. All the damage we use to increase Whirlwind also increases Tornado Whirlwind. We gain those damage increases from Mighty Roar War Cry, Damage Bonus Challenging Shout and Attack Speed and Damage Bonus Call of the Ancients. All of this combines together for some massive damage!

Arsenal Selection

This build will be running on a Dual wield set up. You will need one One-handed Axe and one One-handed Sword. This will be selected for Whirlwind . This will allow you to take advantage of the Two-handed Polearm expertise. We are running Dual-wield for Ambidextrous and a One-handed Axe for Cleaver in the paragon board which is why we run this set up.

For the Overpower variant, your Arsenal selection will be Two-handed Mace.

Overpower

Overpower has changed with the launch of the Lord of Hatred. By default every player can gain 4 stacks. There are ways of increasing that through aspects like Tidal Aspect. It is no longer a multiplier, it acts as a buff to your damage. There are ways of taking that buff and turning it into multipliers with items like Banished Lord's Talisman. The one thing that Overpower does is add a lot of additive damage. This is harder to come by, so it becomes a very valuable resource.

Depending on how you build your build, you will have several different ways of generating overpower. It will be important to maintain the buff. Your overpower buff will last for 4 seconds and then 1 stack will be removed. If you have something like Blood Boiling Aspect and you pair it with Dominate eventually will have stacks of overpower 100% of the time. This is just one example of how you can gain Overpower stacks.

How this build uses Overpower

This build will give you 4 stacks of Overpower. We are also gaining from Blood Boiling Aspect which is our most important Aspect for this build. Because your stacks fall off one at a time every 4 seconds, every 6 seconds Blood Boiling Aspect adds another rank of Overpower and you will never lose your stacks.

This build uses Ceh to apply Vulnerable

Ultimate Selection

We are using Highlander Call of the Ancients because of the significantly reduced cooldown. This allows you to cast Call of the Ancients once every 6 seconds to maintain the attack speed and damage buff. This is still used post patch, even with the bugs to Highlander Call of the Ancients. You still gain the bonus from Attack Speed and Damage Bonus Call of the Ancients by casting Call of the Ancients.

Aspect Interaction

Battle-Mad Aspect give you a damage bonus without swapping weapons. You just need to have the Berserking buff on to activate the second half of the aspect.

Earthstriker's Aspect give you a damage bonus without swapping weapons. You just need to have the Overpower buff on to activate the second half of the aspect.

Weapon Master give you a damage bonus without swapping weapons.

• Resource Generation will help increase the amount of Fury you gain and pairs really well with Rallying Cry.
• Fury Regeneration needs to be added onto the Helmet, Chest piece, Pants and Boots.
• Do not spam Whirlwind if you are not near monsters if you can't maintain Fury.
