Build Overview
This Hydra build focuses on optimising the Damage Over Time across the build whilst staying tanky enough to beat all end game content. It does this through the following:
- Summoning multiple Hydra Heads.
- As much Hydra Damage and Damage Over Time as possible.
- Attack Speed as it scales the Hydra Attack Speed.
- Warmth for Health regen.
- Barriers for extra defense.
- Fireball Enchant for excellent AOE Damage.
- Familiar Enchant to help scale our Primordial Binding Stacks for increased Damage & Movement Speed.
- Damage Multipliers across the build.
Check out the In-Depth Explanations below for further details on the build.
Extra Details
With the correct gear this build should easily beat all the hardest content in the game .This will be an excellent Pit Pusher but to push the highest levels of content you will probably need to use Mana Shield which will make you pretty Glass Cannon so it will be Kill or Be Killed.
Levelling Tips
There are a few methods you can use to level depending on how fast you want to level and what mechanics you want to interact with but all of them will get you from Level 1 - 60 in a matter of Hours. Below are the levelling strategies you can use in order of Fastest to Slowest:
Helltides + Strongholds
If you don't fancy the Nightmare Dungeon Grind or replaying the VoH Campaign then you can simply go and run Helltides until Level 46/47 handing in any Whispers along the way. Once you hit Level 46/47 you can again run Strongholds to get you most of the way to Level 60 if not all of the way there.
VoH Campaign + Strongholds
This has typically been a very fast way to level by completing the Vessel of Hatred Campaign, getting to around Level 46/47 and then completing the Strongholds to get you most of the way to Level 60 if not all of the way there.
Nightmare Dungeons
This is highly anticipated in Season 9 to be the fastest strategy to use for levelling due to the new Nightmare Dungeon Sigils that comes with the Experience Mote Affix. This drops Experience Motes as you go through Nightmare Dungeons that can grant upwards of 5% Experience per Mote.

Enchantments
Fireball (Level 15)
We take Fireball early game because it provides us and any team members with a large AoE damage boost everytime we kill an enemy, speeding up the levelling process significantly.
Familar (Level 30)
We take Familar during the levelling process because it makes it easier for us to sustain high Primordial Mastery stacks until we can scale our Cooldown Reduction in the Endgame to a point where we don't need this enchant anymore.
Uniques
If you happen to come across any of the following uniques whilst levelling they will greatly boost your build:
Ophidian's Iris (Unique Amulet)
The is the new Unique Amulet for the All Hydra Build Variants and is absolutely the Best In Slot. It comes with Ranks of Primordial Binding, Attack Speed, % Intelligence and Pyromancy Damage which are all excellent for this build. This won't typically drop during the levelling stages, but if you do get one you will likely blast all the way to Level 60 without any issues at all.
If you do come across one of these during the Campaign and have access to any of the Core Skill Rare Chaos Powers, you can feel free to replace some of the Magic Powers with these as they will scale your Damage Better.
Sidhe Bindings (Unique Gloves)
This pair of gloves is not typically used on many builds but we opt to use it here for a couple of reasons.
Firstly it comes with Primodial Binding on it which with a Triple Masterwork Greater Affix can roll up to +5 Ranks which gives us an additional x100% Summon Damage.
Secondly we take this as it makes it easy for us to spawn all 3 Elemental Familiars whilst increasing the Duration of how long they last. This makes it much easier to sustain 10 Primordial Binding Stacks without the need for the Cir + Ceh rune combination.
This can later be replaced with a legendary pair of gloves with the Engulfing Flames Aspect but this requires very high Cooldown Reduction which is solved by equipping a Harlequin Crest Mythic Helm.
Temerity (Unique Pants)
This is extremely strong for Defence on this build so long as you have a high roll of the Aspect on it. There are so many sources of damage and life sustain baked into this build you will basically need to be one shot to die before the shield is regenerated whilst in combat. The only thing to keep an eye on its Damage Over Time that can surpass the Barrier, but generally speaking we can out sustain this with either the Firebolt Enchant or Warmth Passive.
Tal Rasha's Iridescent Loop (Unique Ring)
The best in slot Ring for most Sorcerer builds in Diablo 4 currently. All 3 Stacks are achieved by casting our different Conjurations giving us up to a 75% Damage Multiplier which is bigger than most other source of multiplicative damage we can obtain on a Ring.
It also comes with Cooldown Reduction and Non-Physical Damage which are both fantastic for Damage Output on this build as well as Potent Warding which makes it easier for us to cap our Resistances whilst in combat if slightly under before hand.
Runes
If you happen to come across any of the following rune pairs whilst levelling they will greatly boost your build:
Cir + Ceh
The Ceh Rune grants us 3 Wolves everytime we cast 5 Skills for 8 Seconds. This helps immensely during the levelling process to keep Primordial Binding much closer to 10 Stacks than we can normally easily achieve at this stage. We could look to replace these later on once we have solved keeping Primordial Binding capped on stacks without the need for the extra Wolves.
Zan + Ton
The Zan Rune will allow us to rain down Meteorites from the Ton Rune when we cast Inferno for extra AOE Clearance. This in conjunction with the Aspect of Armageddon will help speed up our levelling process immensely
Chaos Powers
Invigorating Attacks (Magic Power)
I recommend taking this early on because if you're lucky enough to drop a Serpentines Aspect early on, you will want to be at Maximum Mana each time you cast Hydra to gain it's Full Damage Potential. This will allow us to stack up Resource by casting Firebolt at Twice The Speed and we don't care about it's damage so the 30% Reduced Damage doesn't matter here.
Explosive Combinations (Magic Power)
I recommend taking this early on because it allows you access to 60% Damage after 3 Casts of Firebolt which if used before casting Hydra will give you a huge Damage Boost.
Accelerating Chaos (Magic Power)
We take Accelerating Chaos for the Cooldown Reduction it offers when the Chaos Bursts it produces Hits Enemies which will allow us to cast Inferno for more often which grants us the ability to Group Enemies, Make Them Vulnerable and Activates Meteorites On Cast if you have the Armageddon Aspect.
Advanced Techniques (Rare Power)
Requirements
If you have an Opidian Iris Amulet this is a solid Damage Option that allows you to Scale Your Damage on Each Cast at the Cost of More Mana, but since our Serpentines Aspect spends our Complete Mana Pool Each Cast this won't affect us so we just benefit from Scaling Damage.

Power Siphon (Rare Power)
Requirements
If you have an Ophidian Iris Amulet this will give you an incredible Damage Boost of 100%[x] Increase at the cost if 20 Maximum Mana on a Rolling 6 Second Cooldown. Since we aren't looking to Spam Hydra too much and 20 Maximum Mana equates to 10%[x] Damage Increase from the Serpentines Aspect, it's probably an acceptable trade off and will allow you to Nuke Bosses or Harder Targets.
