Build Overview

Whirlwind Earthquake Barbarian build guide will teach you all about the gear, skills, paragon, playstyle and seasonal mechanics you'll need to get this insanely fun Barbarian up and running.

Earthquakes will be your main source of damage, and with the new Chaos Perks they will allow you to auto cast your Shouts. We'll rely on the power of the new Chaos Armor for late game insanity but the Chaos Perks will be active in the early stages of the build.

Please read through the How it works section of the planner and if you have further questions you can join me live on Twitch and join Discord

    How it Plays

    Whirlwind Earthquake Rotation

    • Start with Rallying Cry to generate fury from Tibault's Will
    • Use Whirlwind and hold down the key-bind for it.
    • Use Shouts should not be used all at once. Guttural Yell in your Skill Tree reduces damage that
enemies do when they are effected by Shouts.
    • Use Iron Skin when you take heavy damage.

    How it Works

    Whirlwind Earthquake Damage

This build will be running on a Two-handed Mace set up. That means the Arsenal Selection will be your Two-handed Bludgeon Weapons selected for Whirlwind.

    Offense

    • Earthquakes will be your main source of damage with this build.
    • Aspect of Earthquakes will give you additional damage for your Whirlwind when you stand inside of an Earthquake and for 4 seconds after you leave that Earthquake. With Igni sometimes the Earthquake will not be underneath you, so you'll need to Whirlwind over the Earthquake to gain your buff.
    • Aspect of Incendiary Fissures will convert your damage to Fire Damage and it will give it increased damage.
    • Vehement Brawler's Aspect gives you damage whenever you cast your ultimate skill. This also increases the ranks of the Ultimate which reduces it's cooldown as well.
    • Dust Devil's Aspect is used for the increased damage after enemies are hit with Dust Devils. We get Dust Devils from the Force of Nature Legendary Node in the Paragon Board.

    Rune Combinations

Overworld Content (Nightmare Dungeons, Helltides, Hordes e.t.c)

    • Bac + Tec
    • Igni + Tec
    • Poc + Tec
    • Neo + Tec

    Uniques

    • Ugly Bastard Helm in combination with the Harlequin Crest give you enough Cooldown Reduction to keep Wrath of the Berserker off Cooldown.
    • Tibault's Will is both offensive and defensive at the same time. It does provide Damage Reduction as well as the Unique Aspect gives you increased damage whenever you become Unstoppable. You'll gain the Unstoppable buff from Wrath of the Berserker, Iron Skin and Rallying Cry. This damage increase lasts for the entire duration of your Unstoppable buff, and then stays active for 5 seconds after. This also restores 50 Fury every time you use it while you are NOT Unstoppable. If you are already Unstoppable and you use and ability that grants Unstoppable it does not restore and Fury.
    • Rage of Harrogath has a chance to reset your Cooldowns every time you apply Bleed from Whirlwind.

    Mythic Uniques

    • Shroud of False Death is probably one of the strongest Mythic Uniques in the game as it adds +1 to every single Passive node in your Skill Tree. That means every offensive, defensive and utility node you now gain.
    • Ring of Starless Skies adds damage to all of your abilities after you spend primary resources.
    • The Grandfather has a Unique Aspect that doubles your Critical Strike Damage bonus. More importantly for this build it gives very high Maximum Resources. It's a great source of Max Life and the All Stats play a huge role in activating your Paragon Nodes.
    • Melted Heart of Selig will add huge amounts of Maximum Resources to your build, which will add massive damage scaling with this set-up.
    • Heir of Perdition will give you major increases to Critical Strike Chance, Movement Speed, and BIG Damage!

Found a Mythic and want to know if it's useable? Is this Mythic usable with my build video?

    Chaos Armor

These Chaos Uniques can be found in any slot combination. You do not have to match the planner exactly, you will just need to find all of these in this combination.

    • Fists of Fate great source of applying Vulnerable to enemies. Also a big increase at random to your attacks.
    • Crown of Lucion will increase the Fury cost of your Whirlwind but it will also add big damage increases to all damage.
    • Ugly Bastard Helm in combination with the Harlequin Crest give you enough Cooldown Reduction to keep Wrath of the Berserker off Cooldown.
    • Battle Trance plays a big role in the build. It adds +30% all resistances and it has a lucky hit chance to apply frenzy stacks even if frenzy isn't on your bar. While you're at max stacks you're going to gain increased damage.
