Build Overview

NOTE: BLOODY KILLSTREAKS DO NOT WORK ON SUPPORT BUILDS. THEREFORE ANY TYPE OF GEAR WILL SUFFICE.

This is a zero damage support Paladin build meant for playing in groups only. Depending on your DPS player's gear, all of these support builds are capable of clearing much higher than any solo content.

This build significantly buffs party member's Damage, Attack Speed, Crit Chance, Armor and Bonus Resistances. It also applies Vulnerable and Weakens enemies. On top of all of this, it pumps out healing to help keep your party members alive.

Three Variants:
- Shield of Retribution Support
- Judgement Support
- Auradin Support

How it Works

Ranks & Potency

Ranks in Fanaticism Aura will increase the amount of Attack Speed and Critical Strike Chance the aura gives to you and your allies.

Fanaticism Aura Potency will increase the amount of Attack Speed, Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage you and your allies will receive from Rite of Vengeance.

Ranks in Defiance Aura increases the amount of Armor and All Resistances you and your allies receive per rank. Ranks also increases the amount of Thorns and Thorns Damage Multiplier in Rite of Thorns.

Defiance Aura Potency also increases the amount of Armor and All Resistances you and your allies receive per rank. Potency also increases the Thorns Damage Multiplier, but not the amount of Thorns.

Shield of Retribution (S12)

Similar to Judgement and Auradin support, Shield of Retribution buffs critical strike chance, critical strike damage, attack speed and survivability. The main difference is this build utilizes Rite of Thorns to buff the DPS Thorns and Thorns%x.

Judgement (S11)

The support paladin is here to not only buff the DPS player, but to also detonate the DPS player's Judgements early maximizing damage output. This is done by taking the Judicator oath and using Blessed Hammer to detonate them.

Auradin (S11)

The most important part of Auradin supporting is giving your DPS 100% attack speed pool 2. This comes from Fanaticism Aura. However, as explained in my video guide, Fanaticism Aura is bugged and currently snapshots to the incorrect value if a large number of enemies are present at the time of casting. Judgement and Shield of Retribution are able to avoid this issue as those two builds are able to kill everything on the starting pad in the Tower and reset the buff--Auradin DOES NOT have this luxury. So how do we get around this issue? The answer is simple, but the gear has a heavy requirement. Sanctifying ranks to Aura and All Skills and tempering Potency.

You need to go outside of Town and check your Fanaticism Aura attack speed values WITHOUT it being multiplied x4. Fanaticism Aura is affected by ranks AND potency. You need to have enough of both so that when you hover Fanaticism Aura on your skill bar or in your skill tree, it says it gives 25% attack speed at the BARE MINIMUM. Do not confuse this with 4 stacks of Fanaticism Aura buff on the buff bar. We are looking for 25% with no stacks of Fanaticism Aura.

Because no one will have the same amount of Potency or Ranks, this is not a one-size-fits all. The easiest way to achieve this is by wearing Sanctis of Kethamar as it provides 30% aura potency to all auras (legendary amulet provides 22.5% at most to only one aura) while in Arbiter of Justice form. Additionally, wear a chest piece that has ranks and potency. If wearing Sanctis of Kethamar, you can check if you have enough attack speed by pressing Condemn to enter Arbiter of Justice form and hovering your Fanaticism Aura on your skill bar as it will show the attack speed given including the additional 30% potency.

If you are not wearing Sanctis of Kethamar, you will likely need ranks AND Fanaticism Aura potency on most pieces of gear depending on how many ranks you have total. To reach the 25% attack speed, you will need around 27-28 ranks total in Fanaticism Aura.

Overall, you will need many +rank Sanctifications to even come close to reaching this value (15+ ranks from Sanctifications on gear). Luckily, this Fanaticism Aura bug should be fixed next season.
