Build Overview

Blood Wave has shown up once again in Season 13 as the premier Tower/ Pit pushing build for the Necromancer, offering the highest DPS possible on the class thanks to the new Hematolagnia Blood Wave upgrade which turns Blood Wave into a spammable Core Skill alongside Kessime's Legacy for huge amounts of damage.

How it Plays

Cast Inexorable Reaper Sever towards enemies for mobility and to generate a Corpse
Cast Decrepify to gain Resolve stacks through Aspect of Dominance
Cast Corpse Tendrils on the Corpse to group enemies and activate Flesh-eater
If against a boss or an Elite, Cast Life Imprisonment Bone Prison for increased Cast Speed
Spam cast Blood Wave to stack Overpower and to kill all the enemies
Cast Inexorable Reaper Sever to move to the next pack and repeat

How it Works

Overpower

The main mechanism behind the builds insane damage is the Overpower mechanic. By casting Blood Wave with the Overpower Blood Wave upgrade, it automatically sets our Overpower stacks to the maximum +2. We use this alongside Tidal Aspect on our 2-Hander for a massive 18 Overpower stacks while Fortified through the Blood Binder charm set.

We combine that with the Unique charm Red Blessing and Banished Lord's Talisman to gain multiplicative damage bonuses for each Overpower stack we have. The Dominate also synergizes extremely well, giving an incredible amount of additive damage for every stack of Overpower.

Essence Management

Because the Hematolagnia Blood Wave upgrade turns out Blood Wave into a Core Skill with a hefty Essence cost, things like Essence Regeneration rolls and Ring of Starless Skies are vital to the build in order to spam out our Blood Wave as much as we need to.

If players lack Ring of Starless Skies then Essence Cost Reduction rolls, a resource aspect such as Aspect of the Umbral alongside Resource Cost Reduction affixes and Essence Generation Iron Maiden can be used to help smooth out early and mid game essence issues.
